General Hospital Update for Friday, 28-Dec-2001

I apologize for the lateness of this recap. The holidays where more hectic than I had anticipated...

Though Nikolas assures her he's happy for his brother and Elizabeth, Gia realizes that Nik has some serious doubts. Nik finally admits that Lucky’s feelings for Liz are NOT the same as before. Gia thinks Liz should know and appears ready to tell when Liz and Lucky show up. Meanwhile, an ecstatic Elizabeth looks forward to ringing in the New Year as Mrs. Lucky Spencer.

Luke invites an amused Laura to join him for a spin on their new motorcycle. Later, Liz & Lucky's surprising announcement gives Luke visions of a double wedding but Laura quickly squelches the idea. Later, when Luke proposes they elope, Laura appears poised to agree.

Alexis refuses to give her sister an easy out when Ned asks Kristina to spend New Year's Eve with him. Later she confesses that she lied about her plans in order to get Kristina to accept Ned’s invite.

Sonny reminds a wary Courtney that she's family now. Warming up to her newly found brother, they compare notes on growing up as the children of a compulsive gambler. Afterwards, Sonny invites his sister to stay for dinner. Courtney overhears when Janine approaches Sonny and offers to disappear with Courtney-in exchange for a BIG FAT CHECK. Sonny blasts Janine, and gets her to admit that she NEVER slept with Edward. Outraged to hear about her mother's adventures in extortion, Courtney confronts Janine. Unable to bear Mike’s company a moment longer, Sonny dismisses his father, and quickly seeks out Alexis.


At GH, Melissa explains to the Quartermaines how she found Edward in the park suffering from an angina attack. Melissa is stunned when Edward informs his relatives he's cutting them out of his will. The Q’s watch as Edward signs a new will that divides his estate between Lila and Melissa upon his death. Everyone protests, but AJ vows it’s not the end of the story.
