General Hospital Update for Thursday, 27-Dec-2001

101 WAYS TO FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF:

Melissa tells a bedridden Edward that he had a cardic episode. Edward starts to feel sorry for himself and tells Melissa that no one loves him nor cares about him. He then exclaims he is going to leave the hospital. Melissa tells him that he has to stay in the hospital for more tests and that he needs to stop feeling sorry for himself. Eddie has a change of heart and tells Melissa to phone his family and to tell them what happened.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO INVEST IN AAA:

Courtney desperately tries to get her car started. AJ comes along and offers to help her. A frustrated Courtney wonders outloud why so many people in Port Charles like to stick their nose into other people's business. Just then Zander shows up adn tells AJ to leave. AJ warns Court that Zander is a loser and tells Zander to tell Sonny he isn't done with him yet.

WHY YOU NEED TO STAY IN OUR WONDERFUL TOWN:

Carly talks Jax into staying long enough to help her with her budget. Jax starts to cross things off of it while Carly protests. Jax wonders why she wants so much lighting. Carly tells him she wants her club to have a romantic feel to it. She then tells Jax that he wouldn't understand because he has put his heart in a box and sat it in a corner. AJ then shows up and Jax answers the door. He tells Jax that it's now time to take Sonny down. Carly then walks over to the door and smiles at AJ. An angry AJ blasts Carly and points out to Jax all the men she has used since coming to Port Charles. Jax tells AJ that he isn't one to use violence but if he doesn't apologize to the lady (that's suppose to be Carly by the way) he will use violence against him. AJ says Sorry that you have gotten mixed up with that w(I won't spell out the rest of the word =)), then leaves. Jax asks Carly if she is ok. Carly reassures Jax that nothing AJ says can hurt her now.

MIDNIGHT I DOs:

Liz brings up the idea that her and Lucky should get married at midnight on New Years Eve. Lucky is all for it as a concerned Nik looks on. Liz tells the group that she wants to get married at the Bapist church where her and Lucky pledged their love for each other. Lucky then suggests using Laura's house. Liz loves the idea and Lucky leaves the table to call Laura to tell her. Nik follows him and asks him to call off the wedding. Lucky says that he owes Liz a wedding and that if he doesn't give her one then that means Helena won. Liz asks Gia to be her maid of honor since Emily won't be able to come. Gia and Liz go over to Nik and Lucky and Liz comments that maybe Lucky doesn't want to get married. Lucky reassures her but Gia knows something else is going on.

SONNY AND MIKE---ROUND, UH, I LOST COUNT:

Sonny and Mike have it out at Sonny's penthouse. Sonny blasts his dad for leaving him and then turning around and leaving Courtney. Mike tells Sonny that Janine took Courtney and left without telling him. Sonny doesn't buy Mike's excuse and asks him why he didn't go looking for his daughter. Mike tells him that he wanted to get his life together first. Sonny tells Mike that the reason why Mike came and found him wasn't because of love but because of the money. Sonny tells his dad that he (Mike) really isn't a man and that he is spineless. Sonny then tells Mike that he (Mike) taught him how to keep his word (because Mike walked out on him) and how to face his sins (because Mike hide from his). Just then Janine walks in and tells Sonny that Mike isn't telling the whole truth. She tells Sonny that she supported Mike for 8 years and then one day he stoled all her life savings and lost it gambling so she took Courtney and left. Sonny tells Janine that she knew what kind of man Mike was and she still chose to give birth to his daughter. Zander and Courtney then come through the door. Courtney blasts Mike for chosing gambling over her and her mom for using her against her father. She then tells them that if they give her some money, she will leave and never bother them again. Sonny tells Mike and Janine to go out into the hall and that he wants to talk to his sister alone....

MOMMY, HOW DO I GET JAX TO FALL MADLY IN LOVE WITH ME?:

Rae and Skye have a heart to heart. Rae asks her daughter to stop taunting Monica. Skye agrees then asks her for relationship advice. Skye tells Rae about Jax (even though she doesn't mention him by name). Rae advises her daughter to stand back and wait for things to unfold. Monica comes downstairs and starts to easedrop. SHe thinks they are talking about Rae and Alan. She then quickly goes back upstairs as Rae and Skye come out to the main lobby. Alan comes in and him and Rae share a tender moment as Monica spies on them. Rae and Skye then leave for the airport and Monica comes downstairs to talk to Alan. Alan tells Monica that Skye promised her mom that she will behave and Monica tells him okay. Before they can say another word the phone rings. Alan tells Monica it's about his father. Monica tells Alan that he can tell her what happened while she drives and they rush out the door...
