General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 26-Dec-2001

At Kelly’s Diner...

Lucky & Liz come downstairs, hand in hand. Nikolas & Gia are there having breakfast. Hellos and hugs are shared. The gang sits down and Gia starts talking about wedding plans. Courtney shows up and sits at the bar, orders a cup of coffee. Gia goes up to the bar to get her cup of coffee, sets down a twenty and Courtney takes off with it. The gang stops her and offers to help her (huh?!) and ends up giving her the money to buy copper wire to fix her car. Back at the table, Nikolas & Lucky discuss Lucky’s lack of love for Liz. He promises to give her the life she dreamed of, even if he doesn’t love her (generous of him, no?). When the foursome starts talking about Gia’s wedding plans again, Liz suggests they elope. Suddenly, Liz suggests that Lucky & her are the couple that should elope--on New Year’s Eve!


At Carly’s house...

Carly, Sonny, Leticia and Michael are playing with his toys. Mike shows up and needs help finding Courtney. She’s been missing. Sonny is resistant until Carly asks what kind of example he is setting for their child. How is she supposed to explain to Michael that Sonny won’t give his father the time of day. She convinces him enough that he gets his goons working on finding Courtney. And, instead of just throwing Mike out, Sonny suggests they go to his penthouse to discuss things.


At Jax’s hotel room...

Jax opens a present from Kristina (picture frames with pictures of her & Alexis) and places a phone call to make sure his jet is fueled. Skye shows up with a present, which turns out to be papers for him to sign that make her CEO of ELQ. He looks them over and signs them, but then tells her she is on her own. Their partnership is over, he informs her. Skye, of course, is hurt and tries to talk him into sticking around and at least helping her find people to assist in running the company. He agrees to stay for a day or two, but before they can get started working, Carly shows up with the budget for the club. The women bicker; Jax chooses Carly to stay. Skye is none too thrilled. Jax approves Carly’s budget and then tells her he is leaving town and she can go it alone. Carly insists she needs him to stick around (rough life for the man, having attractive women insist he stick around in PC). He finally agrees to stay in town until the club opens.


At the Quartermaine house...

Alan reminisces about the kids’ train. Edward is cynical and tells Alan the children are gone, the company is gone. Nothing is the same. AJ shows up and tells the men that Sonny has officially adopted Michael. Edward blames AJ for this and AJ yells back at him. Call each other names. Edward limps away holding his heart. AJ thinks he’s faking it. Alan suggests AJ let Michael go. Rae interrupts to talk about Skye. She is annoyed at Skye using her to bother Monica. Meanwhile, AJ has moved into the foyer and Skye walks in, annoyed at Jax. She finally admits she is attracted to him, and frustrated at him being charming to the entire female population. Skye walks into the living room to find Alan & Rae hugging. Rae warns her they need to have a serious talk.


In the park...

Roy & Melissa are going for a walk. Apparently, Roy got called away on Christmas to work a case. Melissa is a little annoyed and tells him he can’t just act like nothing happened. She opens a gift from him, a signed Ernie Banks baseball, and wishes that he worked at a safer job. Roy explains that he needs to make a difference in his life and she forgives him and melts into his arms. Edward stumbles through, still grasping his heart. Melissa tries to get him to take his pills but they fall into the snow so Roy calls an ambulance.


At Sonny’s penthouse...

Sonny is so angry at Mike. He suggests Mike came back into his life years ago only for money, because he was the wealthy kid left behind. He wonders how Mike could never tell him about this other child. He wonders how Mike could abandon two children in a lifetime.


Off the side of the road...

With her copper wire apparently bought, Courtney gets her car to start. But before she can pull away, it dies again. AJ shows up, to help?
