General Hospital Update for Thursday, 20-Dec-2001

In Sonny’s penthouse...

Alexis & Sonny find Janine there. She offers to provide him the info he wants about her & Mike…for a price. Which is EXTORTION, as Alexis informs her. Janine says she is certain Sonny will want the info. Sonny already tells her that he knows she & Mike were involved. She assures him there is more to the story and well worth the price. He calls in Johnny to get rid of her, telling her he needs time to think over her offer. She tells him he’ll be sorry if he doesn’t buy the info.

With Janine gone, Sonny makes a delicious dinner for Alexis. She wants to talk about Mike and Janine, but Sonny doesn’t. He just explains that he knows Mike is hiding something and doesn’t understand why Mike can’t just tell him. Alexis points out that he probably knows how Sonny will react and maybe that is what is stopping him from telling him. Sonny laments that Mike thinks he’ll change but he won’t, it’s just the way he is and he wishes people could just accept him like that. Alexis assures him she accepts him. Before leaving, she offers him help if he needs it.


On the side of a road...

Zander comes across a broken-down car and the driver, a young blonde, is jumpy and fond of a tire iron. She makes up a story about her boyfriend, Spike, who went to get help. Zander offers to help but doesn’t want to step on Spike’s toes. Courtney, as she introduces herself finally, admits she made up the story about Spike and accepts help from Zander. Turns out she is in town looking for someone, Janine. Zander offers to take her to his friend, his boss, who knows a lot of people in Port Charles.


In Lucky’s apartment...

Lucky’s asleep with Liz and has this dream where he is a game show contestant. To win, he needs to answer one question correctly…”How much do you love Elizabeth Webber?” Dream Lucky doesn’t like this question and finds he can’t answer it! Uh oh. He wakes up in a start.


On the docks...

A worried Lucky meets with Nikolas and tells him he doesn’t think he loves Elizabeth anymore. Nikolas tells him to give it time, they just went through a major ordeal. Lucky says he remembers what it used to be like but it isn’t like that anymore. He doesn’t think Elizabeth is his true love anymore, she’s just his first girlfriend. Nikolas blames himself for allowing his grandmother to take away Lucky’s love for Elizabeth, but Lucky says it’s not his fault. Nikolas firmly believes Lucky just needs time to get things back.



Aboard ship...

Luke has proposed; Laura thinks he is crazy. Luke insists that he is not crazy. She is happy, hugs him, kisses him, and expresses her love for him. However, she really doubts that is what he wants, she reminds him that he hated being married. She reminds him that they just signed divorce papers and that they were having problems that led to that divorce. Luke finally says the only excuse she could give him for turning him down would be to say that she doesn’t love him, which of course, the whole entire world knows is not true. Laura tells him she needs some time away from him to think it all over, so she retires to the bedroom.


At Luke’s place...

Roy is filling Bobbie in on Luke’s plans for Laura. She is amused, but hopes his plan doesn’t blow up in his face. She goes to call Lesley to see if there is any word from Laura.

Mike shows up, unshaven, asking Roy to get in on a poker game. Roy tells him he can’t handle it, he’ll get into trouble. Bobbie sits down with Mike and tells him he looks awful. Mike worries about how to patch things up with Sonny. Bobbie tells him that maybe he should stop trying to seek Sonny’s approval all the time, that it’s Sonny’s loss if they don’t have a relationship.

Roy sits down and thanks Bobbie for inviting him to Thanksgiving. He apologizes for the way their break-up went down. She says she doesn’t blame him, it just wasn’t meant to be. Hopes they can be friends.
