General Hospital Update for Friday, 14-Dec-2001

THE PC GRILL:
Jax suspects an inside job when it becomes apparent that Sonny is up to speed on Carly's plan to open a nightclub. He questions Sonny as to why he appears to know so much about Carly's activities and suggests that Sonny has her tailed, among other things. Sonny does not admit to any wrongdoing. After the usual exchange of hostilities and insults, Sonny suggests that Carly has made an error in judgment by affiliating herself with Jax.

THE Q HOUSE:
As the ELQ board meeting draws near, Skye informs Edward that she intends to end his reign of terror that very day. Monica announces to an irritated Alan that she's going to spend the holidays with Jason and Emily so she won't have to tolerate putting up with Rae and Skye. Alan tries to get Monica to change her mind telling her he WANTS to spend Christmas with her. Upon seeing that Monica is set on leaving, Alan asks Monica for her proxy at the board meeting. "So you can back Skye in whatever she plans to do? NO WAY" says Monica as she storms off to the sitting room. There she rants to Lila, then apologizes for ragging on Lila's son. Lila wisely advises Monica to she might be happier if instead of fighting AGAINST Alan, she fought FOR Alan. After Skye's threat, Edward goes to the gatehouse to try and convince Ned to vote with him against Skye. Ned gets upset that Edward only sees him as a "vote" and leaves.

THE PC GRILL:
Skye joins Jax and fills him in on her big plan. (This apparently is TOO big for us to know since the details all happen OFF screen). When next we see them, Jax is congratulating Ms. Chandler-Quartermaine on a great plan, and calling his people so they can be 'in place".

CARLY'S HOUSE:
Carly cajoles Zander into helping her hang her Christmas decorations. However, Zander is uncomfortable in Carly's company because of the kiss. Carly urges him to forget it, (& Emily) and get on with his life. Sonny shows up with presents for Michael. Sonny acts surprised to see Zander at Carly's, but later explains to him that he had to pretend in order for Carly not to suspect what is really going on. Zander starts to feel torn by conflicting emotions after Sonny reminds him not to let Carly know he's been assigned to keep an eye on her. Alone with her soon-to-be ex hubby, Carly asks Sonny if he remains interested in adopting Michael despite his growing relationship with Alexis; Carly doesn't think Alexis is very maternal. Sonny assures Carly that he and Alexis remain only friends and he has no plan to make Alexis Michael's stepmother. But the damage is done and Sonny leaves upset by Carly's attitude. Alone with Zander again, Carly berates herself for saying hurtful things to Sonny, and asks Zander to stop her from doing it again, by reminding her that SHE LET Sonny go.

ALEXIS' PENTHOUSE:
Startled to hear her sister's new career move, Alexis urges Kristina to rethink her impulsive decision to become a rock star. Alexis also confronts Kristina about trying to restore Ned and Alexis' romantic relationship, but Kristina assures Alexis that she made a spontaneous decision to sing professionally for Ned. Kristina promises Alexis she has no ulterior motives in agreeing to work with Ned. Ned arrives looking for Kristina. After a little chitchat they (Ned 7 Alexis) share an awkward moment as they realize that it is the anniversary of the wedding which wasn't. Fearful that Carly might change her mind about the adoption; Sonny arrives at this moment and passes on his suspicions to Alexis. After Sonny leaves, Alexis quickly excuses herself and pays Carly a visit.

THE CRUISE SHIP:
Luke informs Laura on 'the mission', pointing out the suspect and his code name (Cupid). When Luke informs her that they are booked (into the same suite) as Mr. & Mrs. Johnson, Laura isn't sure what to think. Later, on deck, Luke (looking smooth in a snappy dinner jacket) waits for Laura, who finally appears dressed to kill. Seeing the 'spy' Luke whips Laura in close for a 'slow dance over'. Laura frustrates Luke's plans for romance by taking the spy mission seriously. Clueless about Luke's scheme, Laura pays more attention to the "foreign spies" then Luke's romantic whisperings. The final insult (to Luke anyway) is when Laura decides to go after a crewmember, whom she saw 'Cupid' pass something to. Later she returns and tells Luke, she picked the crewmember's pocket, but it was just a note requesting a romantic song. Clearly frustrated, it appears Luke finally decides to come clean with her, "There is something about this mission I haven't told you."

THE Q HOUSE:
It's time for the meeting and Edward is upset that Ned is nowhere to be found. Monica (pleasantly) surprises Alan when she shows for the meeting and announces she decided to stay. Sonny assures a nervous Edward that he as taken care of Janine. A.J. quizzes Skye about the "big plan", but Skye will only says (as Jax arrives) "there are plenty of surprises…for everyone.

GH DATELINE:
12/17 Laura goes along with Luke's high seas adventure, enjoying the excitement- but she turns the tables on him soon enough.
12/18: Elizabeth returns. Skye takes charge at the ELQ board meeting.
12/19: Sonny offers Carly a chance to rip up the adoption papers, but she reassures him that she wants him to be Michael's father. Jax shows up to interrupt their time together and Carly tells both men to show her respect or else.
12/20: Sonny's 1/2 sister Courtney (Alicia Wellis) makes her first appearance. Nikolas and Lucky grow closer as brothers.
