General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 12-Dec-2001

At Luke’s Place...

Roy & Melissa come in with plans to decorate the club for Christmas; Luke is packing for his “mission.” Roy realizes Luke’s “mission” is to try to win Laura back and he tells Luke it is a really bad idea to be dishonest to Laura. He also says he is not going to help him out and will not lie to Laura. As Roy & Melissa hang decorations and reminisce about Christmas memories, Mac shows up and offers Roy a detective assignment. Melissa is worried about Roy taking any such assignments, but he reassures her, explaining that he is really good at this stuff and it’s not like before, when he had to turn in people like her brother. He would be gathering evidence against bad people.


At Laura’s office...

Amy & Laura return from shopping and Elton & Amy launch into a conversation about how great Scotty is and how they can’t believe she turned down his proposal. Laura admits that she is kind of bored now that all the action has gone down and doesn’t really understand it. Amy psychoanalyzes (or tries to) Laura, comparing her life to a snow globe. Laura thinks she should be content with boring but clearly isn’t and when Luke shows up inviting her along on his “mission,” we can see she is interested! She says she can’t just pick up and leave, she has Lulu and Deception, but he gives her the when and where and tells her to meet him on board the ship if she can make it.


At Jake’s...

Zander is on the phone, trying to get through to Emily. He finally does (we don’t hear or see her) and pleads his case, but she apparently tells him that she has found someone else! Poor Zander :-(


At the Quartermaine mansion...

Typical family squabbling at the Q house, until Zander bursts in totally angry at AJ. Ned manages to push him out to the patio before he does anything rash and tells Zander that losing Emily is his own fault, he never thinks before he acts. He also tells him that Emily deserves better than him and to let her go, take what she taught him and move on. Inside, Skye convinces AJ not to call the police. She tells him he won, he should quit while he’s ahead.


At Sonny’s penthouse...

Carly runs into Alexis & Sonny in the hall and Carly explains she was there in response to Alexis’ desire to hurry things up with the divorce. Carly is peeved about finding her ex-husband with his lawyer again, especially once she realizes they went to the casino in Puerto Rico. She assumes they slept together and nothing either says will make her change her mind. She signs the papers, everything is official and she leaves upset, even warning Sonny that she might not ever forget this. Alexis is uncomfortable and leaves Sonny’s apartment, but not before he suggests she “get loose” more often. No sooner is Sonny alone than the mysterious Janine Matthews is brought in for a meeting. He says she is there so they can get better acquainted. Specifically, he wants to know her connection to Mike Corbin.


Back at Jake’s...

Mike finds Zander angrily shooting pool. He expresses sorrow for Zander, but asks if there is any news on Janine. Zander yells at him and storms upstairs. Carly shows up and tells Mike that Sonny is back in town. Mike is desperate; Carly says he needs to tell his son his secret. Mike leaves. Carly goes up to check on Zander, who is destroying his room. He tells her that all is lost with Emily. She tries to tell him it’s not that bad, but he isn’t hearing any of it. She explains that she can relate because they are very similar people, comforts him and then, next thing Carly knows, Zander is kissing her! And she is kissing him back!
