General Hospital Update for Friday, 7-Dec-2001

As Friday's go, today's episode was pretty tame, but worth the watching just to see the look on Helena's face when Kristina refused to be intimidated...

AT PCPD:
Stunned to see her late husband's SECOND illegitimate child, Helena warns Kristina she's made a serious mistake in revealing herself. Kristina informs Helena she came to the jail to lay eyes on the monster that murdered her mother. Helena threatens Kristina with a life filled with fear, but Kristina fights back and informs Helena that SHE is a CASSADINE-formally welcomed by Stephan. This annoys the grand dame, but not near as much as when Kristina tells her that a piece of her mother still lives in her and that Helena DIDN'T win the war.

AT KELLY'S:
Mike arrived looking for Janine, but finds A.J. instead. Mike tries to blow him off, but A.J. plays on Mike's fears. He tells Mike that Sonny HAS Janine, and it's only a matter of time until she spills the beans. A.J. then offers to help, if Mike will help him find Janine and get her out of town.

LUKE'S GARAGE:
Luke is working on his Cadillac when Roy arrives. After Luke informs him that he will NOT be attending the party, Roy chastises him. He finally gets Luke to admit that he's not going because Laura didn't just fall into his arms after she turned Scott down. Roy chastises Luke again for not pursuing his dreams and for giving up on Laura so easily. Before leaving, he tries to goad Luke into attending the party, "You're making Stefan look like the bigger man" "You owe it to Nik; the kid worked against his own father to help you" and finally "After all you've been through recently, I guess you don't have what it takes right now".

THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY:
Stefan lifts a toast to Nik and Gia as the party gets underway. Later, Jax and Ned pleasantly offer a surprised Stefan their gratitude for all he did to keep Kristina & Alexis safe. Taggart also offers a toast to the happy couple and even welcomes Nik into the family. Laura shows up alone. She thanks Stefan for being a "real father". Later, Laura welcomes Gia into the family and thanks her for making her son so happy. She tells Lucky that she wishes she could say the same to Liz. Lucky expressed Liz's regret at not being able to attend the gala, she couldn't come since her mother is ill. Kristina returns to the party and expresses her hopes of a bright future for the Cassadine family. She announces plans to immediately, officially, and legally change her last name (Did she actually have one?) to CASSADINE. This manages to please Stefan and worry Ned, who later expresses concern that she is moving too quickly into the bosom of her family. Kristina guesses that Ned is really concerned about Alexis, but Ned denies it.

AT THE CLUB-TO-BE:
Rattled by her encounter with Skye, Carly sadly tells Zander she'll have to surrender her dream in order to prevent Jax from hurting Sonny. She says that she will not help Jax destroy Sonny. Zander tells Carly not to believe ANYTHING Skye says as she has her own agenda, then he tells her that AJ tried to con him into betraying Sonny.

PUERTO RICO:
Following too many rum punches, a giddy Alexis wished for the evening not to end. On the advice of a waitress, "Unlucky at cards-lucky at love", Lexi recklessly gambles away her winnings (except one chip she keeps to remember the night). Meanwhile Sonny does his best to create an endless evening, including a romantic candlelight dinner where they toast to their "friendship".

AT KELLY'S:
Carly and Zander overhear A.J. trying to blackmail Mike. Carly jumps in to defend her future ex-father-in-law. Afterward, Mike asks Carly's help to prevent AJ from destroying his relationship with Sonny. (Carly??? Mike what ARE you thinking? She couldn't save her own relationship! Come on!)


ENGAGEMENT PARTY:
Arriving at Wyndemere with Alan & Monica, Skye expresses doubts about attending. Alan insists she was invited as part of the family. Monica cattily says, "Of course if you WANT to leave, it wouldn't hurt MY feelings." When Jax approaches her, Skye suddenly gives him the cold shoulder. Jax is puzzled and chases after Skye, who seems to be avoiding him. Jax finally confronts Skye over her change in attitude toward him. Skye eventually breaks down, shows her jealousy and hints at her fear of his betrayal before rushing off. Elsewhere in the room, Lucky admits to Laura that he is glad she decided not to marry Scott. He tells her he DID NOT see the look of love in her eyes in regards to Scott. Later, Luke surprises Laura (and restores the light in her eyes) when he appears at the party dressed to the nines.

A wonderful new adventure is in the works for Luke and Laura.
Sarah Brown (ex-Carly) was seen at a recent GH event? Hmmmm.
With PC going to a 6 months schedule, GH may go to a 10 month on/2 months off schedule.
Now that Vanessa Marcil is in the family way...she wants to settle down to a "comfortable" and "steady" job. Look for Brenda to return --with a baby in tow???!
Rejected by Laura, Scott tries to get Helena to resurrect Dominique.
Johnny, Andreas, Reggie and Elton are all really the secret 1/2 brothers of AJ and Skye.
Luke finally buys the farm due to after-effects of Helena's making Lucky inject him.

SCOOPS & TIDBITS:
Luke decides he needs Roy's help when courtin' Laura!
Melissa tries to locate her sister. She may be closer than they think!
Skye tries to come between Jax and Carly using her feminine wiles. She soon resorts back to her old self however, and turns Jax off.
Mike just about loses it when Janine and Sonny are spotted together.
Janine makes a mysterious phone call....promising riches to the person at the other end.
Skye makes the ELQ board meeting erupt in havoc.
Monica learns Rae is coming for Christmas, and makes her own "preparations".
Laura surprises Luke....their relationship begins to turn romantic, but will Luke turn tail and run? Laura isn't sure how to handle all of this and things begin to unravel.
Zander is heartbroken.
With Stavros' death, Nikolas' realizes he must decide whether or not to become a full-fledged prince or give it all up. After much hemming and hawing, the paper's ARE signed and Nikolas IS the Prince of the Empire.
Gia must decide too; the Face of Deception may prove to be too much, given their new found "royal" status. Can their relationship survive?
Carly and Sonny move forward with the adoption of Michael.
How will Carly handle Alexis and Sonny's new found "friendship"???
How will Sonny react to Carly's Club plans?
Alexis is upset with Ned's plans for Kristina's singing career.
Luke recalls the past he and Laura shared so closely.
While dancing at the engagement party they realize they still love each other.
Luke decides to get Laura back, and hatches a plan.
AJ has a confession to make.
Once again, Luke and Laura try to share their feelings honestly.
Carly lets Zander know that she is not going to work with Jax against Sonny. Zander lets it be known that AJ tried to get Zander to turn against Sonny. This upsets Carly and AJ makes things worse when she hears him trying to blackmail Mike.
Mike turns to Carly for help to stop AJ from ruining his thin as ice relationship with Sonny.
Carly takes Zander on as an "intern".
Zander's motives for sticking close to her aren't what they seem.
