General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 5-Dec-2001

(Editor’s Note: I am sorry it has taken me so long to write this, but I swear this episode had to be one of the most unbearably dull episodes in recent history. I will try not to let that come through in my summary :-) )


At Laura’s house...

Laura is looking over her Christmas tree when Luke shows up at the door. She is not particularly welcoming and tells him she is not ready to hear him continue criticizing Scott, but would make time for an apology. He says he isn’t there for either reason (come on, Luke, you can’t apologize?!) and instead, stammers about a potential Christmas gift for Lulu. Finally, he says that she seemed upset on the docks the night before and while trying to bait her into telling him that she turned Scott down, Laura realizes he already knows she said no. Luke wants to know WHY she said no, Laura doesn’t understand why he wants to know. They talk but both seem sort of frustrated about the talk.


At Kelly’s diner...

Scott is forlorn, sitting alone at Kelly’s and overhears some man at the counter talking lovingly to someone on a cell phone. Scott is fed up listening to this guy and picks him up and throws him out the door. Felicia appears from behind a newspaper and asks Scott what the hell he was doing. Apparently, she really has been doing some PI work and this was her case, she was supposed to get dirt on this guy cheating. Scott feels badly and explains what his problem is, Laura turning him down. Felicia gives him a bit of a pep talk.


In Puerto Rico...

Alexis is working, Sonny wants to know why. He thinks she needs to have a good time. She doesn’t understand why he thinks it his job to be her fun watchdog, but she finally agrees to a night of dinner, gambling and dancing. If only she can find a dress. I guess Kristina’s help with packing didn’t help. As Alexis is shopping for a dress, Sonny calls ahead and tells the casino to let Alexis win a few games to build her confidence. Before their date officially starts, Sonny shows her the beautiful view and shares a tender moment with her.



At the Quartermaine house...

Skye is suddenly loving Jax and her little excursion to New Orleans when he drops her off at the Q house. She is full of thanks for everything, the dress, the trip, the proxy. Edward walks in and berates his granddaughter. Jax sticks up for her and she seems smitten. Once he leaves, she is actually civil to her grandfather and even he wonders what Jax has done to her! Then he tries to get her to believe that Jax is just using her. And she turns on him again. AJ saunters in and Skye boasts that their position is even stronger with Jax’ proxy. AJ admits that Janine is gone. She yells at him but still thinks with Jax’ proxy they are still in the lead. AJ wonders why Jax gave up his proxy and also warns her about Jax’ ruthlessness and how he is using her. Skye doesn’t believe it, what is he using her for? (Why, her charming disposition, of course!)


At the new, hip, happening club in town (AKA a warehouse)...

Carly is all upset after getting a message on her machine from her lawyer recommending that they get the divorce and adoption settled by Christmas. She takes her anger out by bad-mouthing Alexis, but Jax points out that she really is upset at Sonny. He tells her he is worried about these reactions and hopes she doesn’t turn into Destructive Carly again.
