General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 20-Nov-2001

At the jail...

Helena gets a visitor--Luke! The grande dame looks worn, unglamorous; her hair is flat. We’ve never seen her in such a way before. She is looking in a compact mirror and boasts to Luke that she’ll be out in the morning because she has lots of money. Luke tells the guard she has a mirror and it is taken away from her. Suddenly, her lawyer walks in, a dorky twentysomething court-appointed attorney!! Stefan is there and explains that he cut off all her funding and this is the only lawyer she can afford. Her lawyer is going over her case when he gets an important phone call…from his mom!! The lawyer finally suggests to Helena she plea bargain to avoid a trial. Stefan laughs.


On the docks...

Stefan meets up with Luke upon leaving the jail and asks him out for a drink. Luke resists, but Stefan says regardless, he hopes they can have a truce. Luke rethinks the offer and suggests they do have a drink. They share scotch from Luke’s flask out on the docks, making toasts to such things as a long, jailed life for Helena and Cassidine-Spencer peace.


On Nikolas’ yacht...

Gia & Nik are all wrapped up in each other, naked, post-sex, when Taggert & Mom walk in. Hmm, Gia’s family is angry for some reason (can’t imagine why!?). Nikolas reassures them that they have nothing to fear, he can be trusted. He tells them he is ready to propose to Gia and asks for their blessing. Gia’s mom insists on seeing the ring (she is a little dubious of this sudden proposal); Nikolas pulls out some beautiful ring. Florence says the blessing will have to wait, but she leaves content for now. Alone, Gia thinks Nikolas just told a story to her family to get rid of them, but Nikolas explains how he just bought the ring and that he did intend to propose and in fact, does propose to her! Gia is going to be a princess!


At the penthouses...

Kristina is remodeling Alexis’ apartment. The sisters get to know each other.

Carly tells Sonny that she would love to spend the night with him in the penthouse, but she can’t come back on emotional probation. He asks her to stay just one night, they can talk or whatever to try to fix what is wrong. He wines her, dines her; they flirt, reminisce and toast to “now.” They start to kiss but Carly pulls away.

Alexis is at the door of Sonny’s apartment, asking to borrow butter. Carly answers and is rude. Alexis decides to be rude right back and tells Carly she doesn’t appreciate her running to Jax spreading non-gossip, with stories about Alexis & Sonny.

Sonny overhears this exchange and immediately defends Alexis and tells Carly to stay away from Jax. Carly starts to explain herself and then realizes this is exactly the problem, Sonny will ALWAYS think she did something wrong, that she’s at fault. The trust is gone and they’ve reached the end of the road. They say good-byes. Sonny cries as he gets ready to sign the divorce papers.
