General Hospital Update for Friday, 16-Nov-2001

As tributes go, this wasn't much of one, heck, it wasn't much of episode in my opinion. (Maybe I'm just used to big things happening on Fridays)
Well here we go anyway!…



AT THE PC HOTEL:
Edward managed to get into Janine's room and had her backtracking (literally) with his come-hither attitude. Janine tried to stall and appeared on the verge of confessing the truth when the phone rang.

AT THE Q HOUSE:
Ned responded to Alan's announcement with disbelief and tried to warn AJ again that Skye was just using him and Michael. AJ defended his sister. Ned announced that he was putting a stop to it and left to find Edward. Skye was worried and called Janine who told her that Edward was there. Skye warned her that it was a trap and not to blow it all. AJ expressed concern about still going after Edward, but Skye convinced him they couldn't stop now. They needed to get to Sonny and if they got Edward on the way, all the better! AJ told her "You do what you have to, and I'll do what I have to!" But left before saying what it was. Skye then headed for the hotel.

ON THE DOCKS:
Carly pushes herself away from Jax and accuses him of having some nefarious reason, since they are hardly friends. Jax tries to explain that he was only trying to help, as she seemed to need it. This of course leads to the subject of Sonny. They argue over whose fault the breakup of her marriage is. Carly defends Sonny and tells Jax that Alexis is attracted to her client and is throwing herself at him at every opportunity. Jax refuses to believe that and they part on less them friendly terms. Carly starts to walk away and comes face to face with AJ who has been eavesdropping. AJ tires the old tactic of saying that they should try to work things out for Michael's sake. When it doesn't work, AJ walks away saying he'll just have to try the next thing on his list. Like the BIG IDIOT she is, Carly follows him to Kelly's demanding to know what he is up to. A.J. manages to rile Carly by saying that once Sonny adopts Michael, he will get rid of Carly and replace her with someone else. Someone who has class and wouldn't be an embarrassment to him, someone like Alexis. Carly was enraged and flew at AJ. Zander who witnessed the scene attempted to keep Carly from falling into A.J.'s trap. "Calm down, you're doing exactly what he wants!"

ALEXIS' PENTHOUSE:
Sonny asked Alexis why he should not give Carly another shot. Alexis avoided expressing her true feelings for Sonny and submarines Carly instead. She pointed out that SHE as (merely) his friend and attorney knew he would never turn states evidence, how could Carly is WIFE asked him to? The point becomes moot as Alexis realizes that Sonny has already decided to try again with his (backstabbing) wife. Jax arrives and Alexis feels compelled to try and explain the situation. Sonny encouraged her to keep quiet as he exchanged barbs with Jax. Sonny exited to his newly remodeled and unfamiliar penthouse (I didn't care for the new décor), where he thought about Carly as he studied his final divorce papers. At the same time, Jax explained his surprise appearance to Alexis by feigning concern over Kristina. He told Alexis that she and her sister should take his yacht and spend time alone together. However, Alexis saw through the story and called Jax on his true intentions. "This isn't about Kristina, your here because of my relationship with Sonny!"

AT DECEPTION OFFICES':
Laura is going over the upcoming ads featuring Gia, when she comes upon the suggested ad for June (bride and groom). She comments that it looks so real and that it reminds her of how she felt the day she married Luke. Bobbie arrives and interrupts Laura destroying the bridal ads. Bobbie reminds Laura that it is her & Luke's 20th anniversary. Laura agreed to join Bobbie for Thanksgiving, but, she established that Luke wouldn't be bringing a date first.

AT LUKE'S OFC:
Luke muttered to himself as he packed years of momentos into boxes. Suddenly, from the radio on his desk, came the song 'Fascination' (His and Laura's song from when they danced at Wyndham's all those years ago). He tried to turn it off, but couldn't. He sprayed it with a seltzer bottle, but it didn't stop. Finally he picked it up and threw it against the wall, just as Roy arrived. The friends talked about leaving the past behind and looking to the future while Roy tinkered with the radio. He finally got it working again, only to have it continue playing the same song. Roy told Luke even though it didn't work out for him and Bobbie, he didn't regret trying. He advised Luke not to give up on the love of his life, if there was even a small spark still left. Later, Laura appeared in Luke's doorway as he remembered exchanging vows on their wedding day.

PC HOTEL:
Alerted by Sky's call Janine schemed to turn the tables on Edward. She left the room and came back dressed in sexy lingerie. Meanwhile, Edward consulted with Kristina on how to work the recorder he was carrying in his pocket. Edward tried to get Janine to confess to blackmail, while she steadily undressed him. Ned found Kristina lurking in the hallway outside the room. Kristina was about to explain when they heard Edward calling for help. They burst into the room to find Edward and Janine in a comical, but compromising position. Skye arrived on the scene and feigned surprise and horror when she saw Janine astride Edward. Ned warned Janine to take her money and run or she'd be sorry, before escorting Edward and Kristina from the room. Outside he chastised them for making things worse. Inside, Janine worried that she could be arrested, but Skye smoothed things over by saying she would take care of it.

Scott tells Bobbie about his proposal.
Sonny asks Carly to spend the night.
Skye moves Janine.
Jax talks to Alexis about her relationship/feelings for Sonny.

11/20: Taggert and Gia's mother returns to the show.

11/22& 26: Rae Cummings reappears in Port Charles.

Nik and Gia's engagement party might just be The Party of the season.

Now for some NEWS, RUMORS & SCOOPS

SoapNet will air a 12-episdode Luke and Laura marathon entitled, "Luke and Laura Through the Years," on Friday, November 23. Highlights from the day will include Laura getting a job at Luke's disco, their summer on the run (including dancing at Wyndham's and their first time making love), and the wedding episode itself, which originally aired November 16 and 17, 1981. The marathon will conclude with the most recent event in Luke and Laura's relationship - their divorce - which originally aired in June of this year.

Remember that little rumor about a long lost sister? Did you see Mike and Janine together? Can you put 2 and 2 together???

Alexis gets cozy with Sonny.......can popcorn and candles be far behind?

Rumor among insiders is that Jill Farren Phelps and Angela Shapiro will be out of there Dec/Jan. Although nobody has seen Guza on the set, his name has been brought up and speculation is he will be making a return to GH. No word on the fate of Megan McTavish...............

Sources say that Sonny's sister will end up in a romance with at least one of his enemies.
