1. Quartermaine Mansion - “The Skye and Janine Problem” - Out on the terrace, Alan tells Monica her battle with Skye has to end. Monica agrees. Alan says that was too easy. Monica says she took care of everything; she paid Janine $100,000 to stay away from Edward. They go into the den to find Skye and A.J. reading the newspaper. Monica wants to know why Skye is still there. Skye says Janine is staying, too, because she can’t bear to be away from her “Sweet Cheeks.” Edward enters just in time to hear that comment and acts upset. A.J. gets in his face about the whole Janine situation and comments that he now knows what it feels like to kick someone when they’re down. Skye tells everyone that Janine is still in town and $250,000 richer. Edward looks to Alan for help. Alan tells his father he has some nerve after selling Skye as a baby and manipulating his life like that. Skye announces the price of making Janine disappear: Edward’s ELQ shares. Edward storms out. Monica calls Skye a thoughtless gold-digger and also stomps out of the room. Alan asks his children if they’re sure they want to go through with this. A.J. says he has to get his self-respect back, even if he can’t get Michael back. Alan asks for a minute alone with his daughter. A.J. leaves and Alan asks Skye what she’ll do if Edward refuses to hand over his stock. Well, tell Lila about Janine, of course, Skye answers. Let’s not wait, Alan says. He goes out of the room and comes back with Lila. Mother, Skye has something to tell you, he says. Put on the spot, Skye can’t do it. She says she just wanted to thank Lila for making her feel like a member of the family. Lila says, that’s nice, dear, and gets Alan to push her out again. When Alan comes back, he tells Skye he knows who she is deep down inside, and she’s not a combination of Attila the Hun and Adam Chandler, like she wants others to believe. He hugs her. Alan tells her he’s proud of her. He admits he was afraid she’d turn out to be the worst kind of Quartermaine, but she proved him wrong. Skye confesses she’s not sure of herself, doesn’t know how to act. Alan tells her to listen to her mother and value herself. Skye says, you really loved my mother, didn’t you? Alan says that’s in the past. He suggests they gather the whole family together; he has an announcement to make.
2. Gatehouse - “It Wasn’t So Bad, Was It?” - Kristina comes back from her morning run to find Ned in running gear himself. Ever observant, she surmises that he’s bothered about Alexis working for Sonny. Ned and Kristina have their usual argument about Kristina changing things around in his place and how she tries to change him, too. But on the way out for his run, Ned admits that Kristina is not the worst house guest he’s ever had. Who was? Kristina wants to know. “I’ll have to get back to you on that,” Ned says and leaves.
3. Alexis’ Penthouse - “Hearing Voices” - It’s the next morning and Sonny is still sleeping on the couch. Alexis tiptoes downstairs and past him to get the paper, all the while telling herself not to look at him. Then she goes to pull the blanket up over him. He wakes up suddenly and grabs her and pulls her close. Then he apologizes, explaining that when he wakes up in a strange place, his fighting instinct kicks in. Alexis just stands there, telling herself to move away from him, but not doing so. She jumps when Sonny touches her shoulder. Then Carly walks in. She calls Alexis a “cheap, two-timing tramp after another woman’s husband because she can’t get one of her own,” grabs her by the ear, threatens to claw her eyes out if she ever looks at Sonny again, and shoves Alexis down into a chair. A contrite Alexis apologizes and says she will quit as Sonny’s attorney. Sonny tells Carly he doesn’t know what he ever saw in Alexis. “Forgive me,” he says and draws Carly into a passionate kiss . . . And we see that this little scene was all in Carly’s mind. In reality, Alexis tells her that nothing happened, she shouldn’t overrreact. Carly says it’s none of her business. She informs Alexis that she has signed the divorce papers and is also letting Sonny adopt Michael. She announces she is moving on with her life, and her first order of business is to get Deception back with Lucien Kane’s money. Alexis breaks it to her that Lucien was Stavros, who is now dead. She says Carly is lucky he didn’t kill her. Sonny asks how Carly could have exposed Michael to a killer? Carly tries to cover her feelings; she says she’ll be fine, she knows how to take care of herself, Sonny taught her that. She leaves, almost breaking down in the hall. Sonny calls Johnny and tells him to keep an eye on Carly. Alexis wants to know WHO was that woman? Sonny confesses he asked Carly to move back in with him so they could work on fixing their marriage. He asks Alexis why he can’t understand his wife. Alexis counters with her own question: why don’t you want to sign the divorce papers? Sonny says maybe he didn’t want to just throw away their marriage. He says he’s going after Carly. Alexis stops him.
4. The Docks - “Alexis Needs Your Help, Jax” - Jax and Ned are getting ready to go running together. Ned gives him back his playing card, the real one he drew in the competition with Stefan. You fixed that bet to help Kristina and Alexis because you’re so noble, Ned says. So now what are we going to do about Alexis? he adds. Jax suggests that Ned try to convince her to stay away from Sonny. Been there, done that, didn’t work, Ned says. Jax tells Ned he should listen to Alexis; she’s responsible for her own life. The two go running but return to the subject of Alexis at their first breather. Ned says they need to be her friends and step in to help her. He points out that Jax has stopped the Cassadines, put Helena behind bars, and kept Kristina safe; there’s nothing else on his plate right now. What about my job? Jax points out. Your real job is chivalry, Ned states. You can’t refuse a damsel in distress. Jax says he won’t mess with Alexis’ life because she hasn’t asked for his help. Ned asks him to think about it and leaves.
5. Gatehouse - “Help Me” - Edward comes to see Kristina and reminds her that she promised to help him find a solution to his problem with Janine. He says Skye is on the verge of telling Lila everything. Kristina suggests that he tell his wife the truth before anyone else can. Not an option, says Edward. Then tell Janine to get lost, Kristina says. I can’t hurt that poor girl’s feelings, Edward says. Are you sure her feelings are genuine? Kristina asks. Edward can’t imagine that they aren’t. Kristina points out that Janine took money from both Monica and Skye; that sounds more like greed than love. You’ve been bamboozled, she declares. Edward says, if that’s true, it changes everything. Kristina says there may be a way to find out if Janine really loves him and put an end to the blackmail.
6. Quartermaine Terrace - “You’re Acting Like a Jerk, Junior, as Usual” - Ned arrives back from his run to find A.J. in a good mood which instantly makes him suspicious. A.J. announces he is no longer the whipping boy; thanks to Skye and Janine, he has some power over Edward. Ned points out that he’s not doing this for Michael; he just wants to get back at Grandfather, no matter who he hurts, including Lila. A.J. makes a dig at Ned’s fathering skills. Ned says that at least Brooke Lynn knows that both her parents love her. He tells A.J. not to use Michael. Skye comes out to tell them that Alan wants to see them in the den.
7. The Docks - “Another Damsel in Distress” - Jax makes a call to someone and tells them to transfer all the Cassadine holdings back to Stefan. He starts to walk away, just as a very upset Carly arrives. Muttering to herself, she kicks a potted plant into the river. Jax asks what’s wrong. She says he’s just the man she needs to help her get Deception back. There’s more to it than that, Jax says. She declares she’s through with the past and Sonny, she was a fool, etc., etc. She gets hysterical. Jax ends up comforting her with a hug.
8. Port Charles Hotel - Janine’s Room - “What You’ve Been Waiting For” - Edward arrives at Janine’s door with a huge bouqet of roses and the announcement: “Your prayers have been answered; Sweet Cheeks has arrived.”
9. Quartermaine Mansion - The Den - “Shocker” - Alan tells everyone - A.J., Ned, Skye and Monica - that the in-fighting must stop. BEST LINES OF THE WEEK - “From now on compassion, sensitivity, and loyalty will prevail,” he declares. “Are you on drugs again?” Ned asks. Alan announces he’s giving Skye his ELQ stock for her to use to get Sonny away from the family. He leaves with a furious Monica on his heels. Skye looks stunned but happy.
