General Hospital Update for Thursday, 8-Nov-2001

IN MARTINIQUE:
Sonny gets up in the morning and is looking for everyone, finds a note from Carly. Seems she has tried to make a quick getaway and is already on the plane, ready to leave for home. Sonny shows up on the plane and sends Michael & Leticia off to get ice cream while he talks to Carly on the plane. She claims she wanted to give him space to decide what he wanted. He claims he is ready, the penthouse is ready, his bed is ready. Carly is afraid she will have to walk on eggshells, watch her every move, audition to be his wife. She says she loves him, but she won’t settle for less and risk losing herself. Sonny promises to love her as much as he can. Michael & Leticia interrupt with ice cream and the conversation goes unfinished.


AT THE QUARTERMAINE MANSION:
The Quartermaine family (minus Ned) is gathered for lunch in the living room, doing their usual bickering, when Janine shows up! “Where do I sit?” the troublesome blonde asks. Monica & Alan want to know who this woman is, although Skye tries her damnedest to usher her out as quickly as possible. Lila invites her to sit. She calls Edward, “Sweet cheeks.” He chokes on his sandwich. To divert attention, Edward tells Alan & Monica how AJ gave three shares of stock to Skye. His parents are shocked. Alan accuses Edward of having a dalliance with Janine; they leave the living room to discuss this. Edward tells Alan he is sorry about what happened, but acts smug, “Can I help it if a woman woke up next to me hopelessly smitten?” Still in the living room, Monica accuses AJ of replacing booze with Skye. AJ tells his mom that his sister is the only one in the family who is totally on his side. Out on the terrace, Janine reveals that Skye is interfering with her plan. Her whole trip to Port Charles is part of a plan to milk Edward of some money. She even admits they she & Edward never even slept together! Skye calls it all a set-up, just as Edward peeks his head out the door and overhears!


AT THE HOSPITAL:
Melissa receives a note from Tony, who is worried about everyone, Luke is missing, Bobbie is missing… The two commiserate over not being involved in the Spencer-Cassidine endgame. Tony feels pessimistic and at fault for all of it (gee, why? Because he’s known where the lab is for months?!), but Melissa reassures him and tells him he couldn’t do anything or he put Lucas at risk. Tony leaves a message for Mac, but the police commish is not around.


AT NED’S GATEHOUSE:
Ned finds Kristina upset. She tells him about Alexis. Ned tries to reassure her.


IN HELENA’S LAB:
Roy, Scott & Jax find the cave and are looking for the way to the lab when some of Helena’s goons show up. But, never fear, hired hit men are no match for our ragtag trio of heroes, who manage to punch them out cold and take their clothes so they can be mistaken for Helena goons themselves. Meanwhile, inside the lab, Lucky tells Helena she can shove it. Everyone shouts words of encouragement to Lucky, “You can do it” “Don’t listen to her” “You’re strong”. Stavros is amused and annoyed. Lucky gives the word and he & Nikolas take action. Bam, the sole goon in the room gets beaten up. Lucky rips the Ice Princess from Helena’s hands. Go team! Yeah Laura’s sons! Everyone in the room trades barbs with Helena. Stavros, in the understatement of the year in Port Charles, claims that the whole thing is becoming tedious! Becoming??! Stavros tells Helena no one will hurt Nikolas, is that clear? Nikolas challenges his father, if you love me, let everyone go. He gives his okay to keep Nikolas, Laura & Gia safe. He says Alexis is okay, too, but Helena objects to that. Letting Luke and Stefan, his mortal enemies, go is impossible, though, according to Stavros. He is ready to show the chosen ones to a safer part of the compound, but then, the Three Musketeers show up! “Hello, Mrs Cassidine,” snarls Jax. The Three Musketeers box in Stavros (oooh, scary!) but more goons show up! Bam! Pow! Smack! They are taken care of. In an effort to get away, Stavros punches both Lucky & Nikolas (that’s a way to win your son’s love!). Stavros runs out, followed by Luke, followed by Laura, followed by Scotty. Next, some of the captives box Helena in. That’s it? Do they think it is all over if they box in the grande dame? The Three Musketeers collect some more goons. Stefan has been untied and heads to the computer to break the code. (Do we know what the codes are for? No. Have we even been clued in as to what Helena’s plans are/were? No.) Nikolas & Gia leave to call the police. Jax, Helena, Alexis, Bobbie and Roy leave, too, but get lost in the maze. Stefan & Lucky remain behind to break the code. Lucky tells Stefan he has his back. (Is another Spencer male teaming up with a Cassidine male?) Scott even manages to punch out a goon by himself! Luke corners Stavros and they share some sparring words. When Luke turns briefly at the sound of Laura’s voice, Stavros rushes to push a button that releases the floor. Luke is left clinging for dear life, while Stavros sputters about Luke’s lack of focus. Laura stumbles upon Luke, hanging on for dear life and promises to save him.
