General Hospital Update for Friday, 28-Sep-2001

Friday's are always interesting.

TODAY ON GH:

Q GATEHOUSE:
(Should I stay or should I go…)
Once Jax leaves, Ned asks Kristina if she is business associate of Jax's. When Kristina says she can't even balance her checkbook, Ned says prove it. Kristina reaches for her checkbook, but realizes Ned is just trying to learn her personal information. Upset that he would stoop so low, after assuring Jax she could stay there no questions asked, Kristina gathers her things and decides to leave. They trade insults while she calls and waits for a cab. When the cab arrives, Ned offers to carry her luggage out. He asks if she knows where she is going. Kristina says she will ask the cabbie to take her to a hotel. Ned recommends several, then tells her she can stay at the gatehouse if she wants. Kristina agrees but has several conditions. Ned must look her in the eye and convince her he really did just wanted to see her checkbook balance or apologize AND he must assure Kristina, her privacy. Ned admits he was trying to learn her real identity, apologizes and agrees not to snoop through her belongings. Ned welcomes Kristina and goes off to deal with the impatient cabbie, leaving Kristina to drag her heavy suitcase upstairs.

GH:
(Her brother's keeper…)
Scotty corners Bobbie and questions her about Luke's favorite hangouts. He manages to throw in some insults (just to be consistent). Bobbie tells Scott if she knew Luke was, she would be there (IF she knew where he was-he wouldn't be missing would he?-DUH). Bobbie questions him as to why he is looking for Luke, since Scott doesn't like him. Scott admits that he is doing it in an effort to win Laura back (AS IF).

(TheUsual suspects…)
Roy tells Melissa about Laura's intruder and the Cassadine medallion he found outside the Spencer home. They speculate that it was one of Helena's thugs, who are probably out en-force looking for Luke on Helena's orders. He tells Melissa he'll be staying at Laura's for a while to be sure she is safe. Mac, who wants to have a few words about Sorrel's murder, interrupts them. Roy reams Mac about the PCPD harassing Melissa, only to find that Mac is there to speak with HIM. Alan and Monica arrive (it appears they were summoned). They found a picture of Michael Q. under Sorrel's bed, with FOUR different prints on it, says Mac. One was Carly's, one was the hitman's and the other two were only identified today. One of those was Roy's. Care to explain? asks Mac. Roy refuses to answer any questions until his attorney can be present. Seeing her love implicated, Melissa springs to the rescue and tells Mac that SHE showed Roy the picture. The forth set of prints are hers. If anyone dropped the picture it was she! Melissa claims. She goes on to explain how she found the pictures on the man in the ER, showed them to Roy & Carly and had them with her when she was in Sorrel's room. Mac jumps on that and wants to know why Melissa was in ICU, when she was restricted from the area. Monica jumps in and says that she saw Melissa in Sorrel's room the day of the murder. But Sorrel was still alive when Melissa left; anyhow it was hours before the time of death. Mac now asks why Monica was in ICU (She's a DOCTOR-DUH-No wonder the crimes don't get solved in this town). Monica explains she was checking on Zander.

PCPD JAIL:
(He's A-L-I-V-E…)
After breaking the code and reading the text, Stephan informs Laura that the disks are basically a "How to" manual on reversing the cryogenics and repairing the damage from a previously fatal accident. Laura was sure it had all been a trick on Helena's part, until now. Stephan is very upset; he is sure Stavros is alive and killed Chloe. He paces the cell, vowing to find Stavros and destroy him. Laura tries to calm him by telling him they have to make a plan. Stephan tells her plans don't work with psychopaths like his brother, because he is too evil. Never the less says Laura, they must proceed calmly and rationally, otherwise they will be playing into Stavros hands. Stephan tells Laura she has to help break him out of jail, becuase his bail was denied on the basis that he is a flight risk. Laura hesitates at first, but says she does know someone she can ask for help. Stephan wonders if Nik knows about Stavros, but Laura doesn't think so. Stephan is sure Stavros will want to reclaim not only his son, but Laura too. He tells Laura to take the kids and run. Laura refuses to run away, says this time she will protect and defend herself. Stephan warns her not to tell ANYONE about Stavros, because Helena would kill anyone who knows, to protect him. Stephan assures Laura he will find a way to get out of jail and stop Stavros. After Laura leaves, Stephan remembers Stavros once telling him "You don't have anything I want; If you ever do, I'll take it away". Stephan vows 'not anymore' and franticly calls for the guard.

LIZ'S STUDIO:
(In for a penny; In for a pound…)
Liz is working on a drawing (conveniently hidden by a large easel) when there is a knock on the door. It's Nik who tells her that Helena has ordered one final test of his loyalty. Without hearing the details, Liz rejoices until Nik tells her he can't do what Helena asks. Liz tells him he has to. Otherwise everything they have done and sacrificed will be for naught. Nik tells hers "Helena wants me to kill YOU! Liz barely blinks and tells Nik, "So do it". Nik answers, "Well as long as you don't have a problem with it, which way do you want to go? Car accident? Drowning?" Liz says, it only has to appear as if Nik has killed her. It would be perfect. Not only would Nik gain access to Helena's plans, but also, Helena wouldn't be able to use Liz against Nik or Lucky anymore. Nik doesn't want to risk Liz's life, but Liz thinks Lucky's life IS worth risking her own for.

ON THE DOCKS:
(Shush…)
Meanwhile, Lucien (a.k.a. Stavros) finds a shaken Gia sitting on a bench. For some reason (known only to her) she confides in him that Nik has changed from the person she thought he was when they were together. Nik used to be a good, kind person until he hook-up with his grandmother, she tells Lucien. She just overheard Helena order Nik to kill Liz and Nik didn't decline, and as much as she doesn't like Liz, she can't let Nik kill her. She is going to tell her brother; he's a police officer; he'll know what to do, Gia tells Lucien. Lucien manages to convince her not to do anything yet. Her life might be in danger, he tells her. He promises to check into the situation and let her know what he finds out. Gia goes to Liz's studio and after asking if Nik is there, tells Liz, "I need to talk to you."

THE SPENCER HOME:
(Clue…)
Lucky tells Lulu another story. This time, about a knight, a prince and a monster (Luke, Lucky & Stavros-we assume). 'The Knight battled evil, with no help from the Prince. The Prince felt guilty for not helping, until he decided to get rid of the monster himself.' While Lulu is upstairs, Lucky answers the phone. It's (a very disheveled looking) Luke. Lucky is very happy to know his father is alive. Lucky tells Luke that he and Roy found the drawing in the cave and even looked for him at the cabin. If Luke will tell where he is, Lucky will pick him up ASAP. Luke only has time for another cryptic message. "It's time to hustle. Tell Roy time is running out, it's time to hustle." Then he hangs up. Lucky rushes out leaving a newly arrived Scott to baby-sit Lulu. Laura arrives home shortly after and is very happy to see Scott, but wonders where Lucky is. Scott explains that Lucky rushed out, with out saying where he was going.

GH:
(The Usual Suspects-Part 2…)
Lucky arrives and tells Roy that Luke called. Roy think he might know what the message means. He and Lucky rush to look for Luke, after Roy gets Melissa to promise she will NOT volunteer any more information to MAC. Mac is annoyed that Roy has left. All are surprised to hear Mac announce that a witness has come forward. Apparently a maintenance man saw a nurse outside Sorrel's room shortly before the murder. Bobby arrives (as if also summoned). The witness also arrives. When Mac points to Melissa and asks him if that is the nurse he saw that night, he says no. All are relieved, until he says "That's her there" and points at BOBBIE!
