General Hospital Update for Friday, 21-Sep-2001

I apologize for today's recap being so wordy. I'm sorry, I just couldn't find where to skimp, without feeling like I left something out.
That said, lets get to it…


In the background, a storm rages in Port Charles. Through the windows of each building you can see the lightening and hear the thunder.


AT THE HOSPITAL:
Melissa answers the phone, it's LUKE. He gives her a message to give to Bobbie "The jigsaw puzzle is coming together". Melissa tells Luke all at home are worried about him. He tells her he doesn't have much time and also to tell Bobbie to ask Ruby about the time Lucky ran off with her strong box. Bobbie gets off the elevator and Melissa quickly hands over the phone, but Luke has hung up. Bobbie tells Melissa she should have tried to keep Luke on the phone longer, as Roy approaches. Melissa gives Bobbie the message and asks if it makes sense. Roy says not to him, but Bobbie thinks she knows what Luke meant. She explains about the circumstances, which led to the Spencer's return to PC after the Triple L Diner in Canada was destroyed. She tells them Lucky arrived first, alone. Heeding his father's advice, he prepared an escape route in case it was needed. He took Ruby's strongbox, turned it in to an emergency kit and buried it on the escape route. Maybe Luke was trying to tell her he had used the box and escape route, he might even be there now. When Roy asks if Bobbie knows where the escape route is, she tells him Lucky mentioned it once. (Sorry I missed the specifics, but do know there was an old road, and a cave involved). Roy volunteers to search, but stops Bobbie from joining him; it might be too dangerous. Same to Melissa, who tells him to watch his back.

GIA'S ROOM:
Lucien puts the moves on Gia, who informs him that she is NOT ready to take the relationship to the physical level; she still thinks of Nik too much. Lucien tells her they will stop if that is what she really wants. Gia is saved from answering by a knock on the door. It's Lucky, who is upset upon finding Lucien/Stavros in Gia's room. Lucky yells out "You are supposed to be dead" and attacks Stavros, who quickly turns the tables and has Lucky in a chokehold. Gia pleads with Lucien to stop. Lucien throws a semi-unconscious Lucky on the bed and wonders if he should press charges; it's the second time Lucky has attacked him. Gia explains that Lucky is not himself, he as been brainwashed by the evil Cassadines. Lucien scoffs, saying it sounds like a movie plot, next thing she'll be telling him they can raise the dead! Gia says she wouldn't doubt it. After Lucien leaves and Lucky regains consciousness Gia offers to take him to the hospital, but Lucky refuses. He tells Gia that Lucien is freakishly strong, but when Gia asks why he dislikes Lucien so much, Lucky draws a blank. He doesn't know why, he just does. They talk about Nik & Liz. Lucky says everything has changed and wonders why he is still in PC, he doesn't fit in with anyone anymore, he feels lost. Gia tells Lucky to hold on to her when he feels that way, but Lucky thinks it's better to stay away from everyone. Then goes off to "Do what needs to be done".

PC GRILL:
Mac tells Stephan (and everybody else) that the preliminary DNA tests match Stephan. Stephan announces to one and all the he is innocent. He loved Chloe, and wouldn't have hurt her. He stalks over to Helena's table and accuses her of fixing the DNA test. He pleads with Nik to tell the truth before it's too late and warns him that Helena will eventually turn on him too, because she feels loyalty towards NO ONE. Nik gets in Stephan's face and tells him to stay away from Helena. As the police read Stephan his rights and lead him away, he pauses at Laura's table and advises her to get Nik away from Helena before it's too late.

Nik tells Helena he has done her bidding and now wants his reward-full control of the Cassadine holdings. Helena tells him it will take time, to which Nik answers that she better rush it along or he will tell Mac that they lied about Chloe asking her for protection against Stephan. Laura approaches and demands to speak with Nik, who refuses. She insists he owes her respect; she is his mother after all.

Meanwhile Monica wonders out loud if Stephan could be telling the truth. After all, there is a big difference between kidnapping and murder. The others believe Stephan is guilty, but wonder what could have set Stephan off enough to commit murder. Edward knows "Not what, WHO!" And points his finger at Jax. Edward rants that it's all Jax fault, he trifled with Chloe's emotions, abandoned her to Stephan (yada yada yada). Edward tells Jax to disassociate himself from ELQ and leave town. Jax yells back that Edward can't tell him what to do and we'll just see who disassociates themselves from ELQ. Ned tries to calm Jax by saying that Edward is grief stricken, doesn't mean what he is saying, he's just lashing out at a convenient target. Jax assures Ned he will not take offense at Edward's words, but neither will he be taken advantage of.

Laura and Nik take their conversation to the bar. There, Laura tells Nik that both Luke and Lucky have mentioned the Lab, but Lucky clams up whenever asked about it. Any info he can provide will be helpful. She also tells him it's too dangerous and he has to get out. Nik tells her he's in too deep already and has to stay with Helena and find a way to at least help Lucky. He does ask her to help Stephan if she can. Helena approaches, Laura congratulates her on turning Nik into his father, too bad Stavros can't see him cause he's DEAD. Laura leaves the bar, but doesn't see Stavros standing behind a plant just outside the entrance. Helena tells Nik she has put the change over in motion.

ANGEL'S HOUSE;
Alexis and Angel greet each other warily. Alexis asks to speak to Angel alone, then demands to know who she really is. Alexis wonders why Angel never mentioned that she finds people for a living. She also wonders if Angel can be trusted to keep Kristina's presence and identity a secret. Angel explains that Kristina come to her for help, and it was sheer chance that Jax got involved when Angel mentioned their mother's name to him. Alexis tells Angel that it's difficult to maintain relationships with both Jax and Sonny simultaneously. Angel tells Alexis to ask Jax if she wants to details about their relationship. Angel also asks if Alexis' concern is because of Kristina or Sonny. Kristina returns and tells Angel about the "friend" who stopped by to return the pictures. After looking at the pictures, Angel asks Kristina for a description of this "friend". "Blonde, confident, very talkative, gestures a lot with her hands," says Kristina. "CARLY" say Angel and Alexis in unison. Angel angrily wonders of Carly is crazy or just stupid, then takes off to confront Carly. Alexis gets a call from Stephan, so she has to go bail him out, but assures Kristina that Stephan is NOT guilty. Before she leaves, Alexis tells Kristina she has hired a bodyguard for her.

SONNY'S OFFICE:
Carly warns Sonny that Angel is playing him for a fool, as she is also involved with Jax, has been for a long time. Sonny asks (again) why she is doing all this. Carly answers "Too protect you". Sonny says he knows her better than that, she doesn't do anything unless there is something in it for herself, so she may as well lay her cards on the table and tell him what she wants. Her answer is "YOU". She pries into his relationship with Angel by asking if he hasn't noticed Angel is trying to seduce him. He agrees with that assessment, but reminds her he doesn't give his trust easily, then rebuffs her by reminding her that when he does trust and that trust is betrayed there is no going back-WITH ANYBODY (this means you Carly)! Next Carly tries seduction. She vividly recalls, with words, the times they have made love in the past. "Everyway, anytime, anywhere" and tells him he can have her now…here. It doesn't matter if he loves or hates her (SHE IS SUCH A SLUT -she REALLY needs to get some self respect and stop throwing herself at a man who says he doesn't want her, even if it's her husband). It appears to be working as they touch and even kiss, but Sonny pulls away and tells her to leave. Carly claims he is in denial, and wonders how he spends time with Angel. Sonny reminds her she claimed to want to be independent. Then tells her to go off and live her life, take care of Michael, but leave him alone and let him have some peace! She'll go, says Carly, but he'll wish she had stayed because he still loves her and wants her.

ANGEL'S HOUSE:
Kristina chats with bodyguard Max (I'd swear his name has been Adam up 'til now). She comments on it being a beautiful night, because of the storm, not in spite of it. She says it would be great to go down to the lake and maybe swim. Max protests, but she pretty much has her way with him and leads him out the door and down to the lake. As the door closes behind them the phone rings.

PC GRILL:
Jax hangs up his phone wondering why no one answered. Carly approaches him and says she wants to talk to him. He brushes her off by telling her he doesn't have time to listen to her now. Carly says "It's about your little pal Angel. Do you know she is involved with Sonny?"

SONNY'S OFFICE:
Angel angrily storms in looking for Carly, ranting that Carly forced her way into her house again and was poking around for info. She realizes that Sonny is upset, and guesses Carly has just left and told Sonny something about her. Sonny tells Angel that Carly has the idea that Angel had an affair with Jax. Angel answers "I did."


A CAVERN (out skirts of town-I assume):
Roy looks around and calls out to Luke. He hears something and ducks behind a large boulder. He jumps out as the other person goes by and is surprised to find Melissa. She followed him cause she was worried he was in danger and might need help, plus what if Luke needs medical attention? They flash their lights towards the back of the cave, and say "Look at this!"

PCPD JAIL:
Stephan sits in a cell, waiting for Alexis, but is surprised to see Laura enter. He quickly assures her again that he did not kill Chloe. Laura states that she believes him. Stephan asks Laura to help him. Laura replies "Maybe we can help each other".
