General Hospital Update for Friday, 31-Aug-2001

Like I said before, Fridays always seem to have a surprise in store for us...



THE HOSPITAL:
Stephan explains to Chloe his plan to dismantle the Cassadine Empire. When Chloe questions what he hopes to gain by it, he answers, "You, but if not that at least my self respect." He goes on to explain that Helena is obsessed with Stavros and lately he himself if hearing his brother's voice and feels his presence. He asks her to go away with him, and give him a chance to prove his love, but Chloe refuses because she feels she can not trust him. Stephan refuses to leave, which upsets Chloe. Melissa & Tony enter and finally manage to convince Stephan to leave before they have to involve security.

PORT CHARLES HOTEL:
(Gia's Room)
Liz & Gia awaken and find Lucky gone. Gia goes to look for him, while Liz heads for Helena's suite again. Outside of Helena's suite she bumps into Kristina, who is on her way out. As the maid emerges from Helena's suite, Liz puts on an act and manages to convince her that she is supposed to be there. Once she is alone, she heads straight for the urn and is relieved to see the Ice Princess is still there. She takes it, and leaves the suite sending up a prayer that it is not TOO late to help Lucky.

THE BOX CAR:
Lucky rips the pictures of Liz off the wall and wonders what is happening to him. He finds a picture of Luke among the ones of Liz and looks intently at it. He grabs a picture of Liz and sets fire to it. Gia arrives and they have a little discussion on Liz, Nik and the best way to get over them. Lucky tells Gia he doesn't know why he ever loved Liz. Liz arrives and wants to speak with Lucky alone. Gia protests, but Lucky agrees. He tells Liz that they are 'OVER' and she needs to move on.


THE CHAPEL/CHURCH:
Helena tells Stavros that Stephan could cause them real trouble with his plan to dissolve the C Empire. She orders him to get rid of Stephan ASAP. Stavros tells her it's not time yet, he wants Stephan to suffer more. Helena informs him that if he doesn't do it, then she will. Stavros angrily grabs her by the throat and informs Helena SHE is no longer calling the shots. Helena retains control by telling Stavros that his recovery is not complete. When Stavros questions her further, she only tells him that he will have to have medication on his birthday (in October), but will not tell him any more. Stavros is forced to agree to finish Stephan off 'tonight'. Before he leaves Helena reminds him to 'make it look like Jax did it'. As Helena leaves, she walks by Kristina who is on her way into the building. Kristina offers a prayer on Alexis' behalf.

ALEXIS' PENTHOUSE:
Immediately upon arriving Alexis' questions Jax on what he has been keeping from her. Jax shows Alexis the necklace. Alexis is overjoyed to see the necklace. She guess he stole it, but tells Jax he can not use it as a stake for gambling. They question each other about Helena's recent actions. Alexis is surprised when Jax questions her if there is another half to the necklace. She tells him there is and admits to having it. When he asks for details, she informs him that she DOESN'T talk about THAT with anybody. They memories are TOO bad she explains. Jax asks her why is she leaving out Kristina? Alexis asks how he knows about Kristina?

THE HOSPITAL:
Chloe has a dream/vision. In it she hears/sees as Helena and Lucien Kane (whom Helena refers to as Stavros) plot to kill Stephan. She awakens very upset and asks Melissa to find out if Stephan is still in the hospital. He is not, so she asks for Tony Jones. She explains to him that she appears to have had another 'vision' like before. Could the blow to the head have caused a relapse, she questions? It is possible, but highly unlikely, Tony explains. It was probably just a nightmare brought on by the stress she has been under. He does order more tests run on Chloe. Once alone, she can't shake the feeling that it was more than a dream. She starts to recall things said by both Stephan and Lucien that lead her to believe Lucien could be lying about his identity. If only she knew what Stavros looked like, she tells herself!

THE CEMEMTERY:
Stephan enters the mausoleum where Stavros' remains are supposed to be. He places Stavros' pendant on the wall plaque. He informs Stavros' "spirit" that he will not allow the Cassadine legacy to destroy Nik as it almost destroyed him. Stephan wonders why his family could not love him. He informs 'Stavros' that his 'true' weakness was being born into the C family. As he curses his brothers' memory, Stephan picks up a large, heavy, marble-looking urn and smashes it against the wall, until the plaque bearing Stavros' full name is shattered!

LAST SCENES:
Helena returns to her suite, and sensing something is amiss, she checks and discovers the Ice Princess is missing!

Liz pulls the Ice Princess out, tells Lucky "We are not over! Do we understand each other?" Lucky turns and sees the diamond in Liz's hand.

Jax stuns Alexis when he says "The necklace isn't for you, it belongs to Kristina. I found her!"

Chloe enters Stephan's study at Wyndemere (unseen by anyone apparently). She finds a family album (how convenient) and sees a picture of Stavros and Baby Nik! She realizes that Lucien is Stavros!

The secret entry to the catacombs opens and Chloe finds herself face-to-face with Stavros/Lucien!
