General Hospital Update for Thursday, 16-Aug-2001

Has Agatha Christie finally come to GENERAL HOSPITAL? It looks as if all principal characters and, of course, some minor ones may have killed one notorious ,hated crime figure, Joseph Sorel. It's anyone's guess as to who-dun-it in today's plot. Was it the mixed -up-anxious Carly, Zander, the revengers, Alan or Melissa,or one of Sonny's hit men? The fight is on as it was in Agatha's mystery, Death On The Orient Express.There is a crime scene with a multiplicity of grateful , relieved suspects.Tony, a dedicated doctor, finds Sorel dead and knows that foul play has occurred. His life support , EKG, or whatever has been unplugged. Alan says " Call THE MORGUE and get rid of him." Yet, the dedicated physician Tony insists that they must call Taggert. Taggert questions Zander and others, and states that he wants the names of all who have entered Sorel's room over night.The suspects' list will probably start with, none other, than "THE OTHER CRIME mobster Sonny." However, at this time, there are quite a few noncaring suspects who must be held accountable.
Melissa sobs as she prays for God's forgiveness in the hospital chapel. Did Melissa's interference with the support system lead to Sorel's demise?Did Alan forget his oath as a healer so he could get the guy who hurt "his Emily?"He tells Zander"No one died here last night." "A killer was exterminated."This investigation is the highlight of today's show. On the side, We see Jax talking to Edward about the deal to oust Skye. Sonny also shows up to warn AJ and the sly Skye to stay away from Carly. As usual, Carly needs Sonny, but , as always, he remains aloof and argumentative. Did this viewer see a trace of love in Sonny's eyes as he woke Carly in his office?One wishes that Carly would calm down and" get a life." After all, we viewers have to play"THE SLEUTH GAME NOW".With Carly's ranting and yelling at GH, a disturbed Angel asks her to have some respect for others. Needless to say, Carly is very unhappy to learn that Angel is Sorel's daughter.She lambasts Angel and tells her that she is TRASH.Now, if Carly can go home and rest, Taggert and his cohorts can begin an intense investigation to find Sorel's killer.:-)Who did him in? Only time and diligent police work will tell.
