General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 31-Jul-2001

Aboard the Cassidine yacht...

Helena tells Nikolas he can eventually become like his father. Alexis barges in and calls Stavros a "bully and a drunk." Nikolas tells Alexis off. She sees a necklace lying nearby and grabs it. It is her mother's and she is taking it, she informs Helena. Helena announces it is being donated to a charity auction and she can claim it, provided her bid is high enough. Alexis looks to Nikolas for help, but he stays in jerk mode and announces that the necklace is part of his inheritance and will be put up for auction. Yet, when Alexis tells him to look her in the eye, he can't do it. She leaves, telling Nikolas there is something else going on. When she is gone, Helena questions Nikolas as to why everyone who knows him doesn't believe his actions. He shoots back at her that he doesn't believe her loyalty. Where is the inheritance she promised him?!


At the brownstone...

Carly is on the phone with Michael, telling him she has great news for him when she sees him again. She decides to put off taking the pregnancy test because she just knows she is pregnant. Then, she dozes and daydreams of the future back with Sonny and with the new baby.


In an alley....

Luke is passed out or dead (??!!) in an alley. Some thief comes up to him and robs him.


At Sonny's office...

Angel brings Sonny an impromptu picnic dinner and can tell that something is bothering Sonny. He won't tell her what it is. But, Mike appears, interrupts and tells Angel that Carly is pregnant. Mike is overjoyed and tells Sonny this is the answer to his problems, but Sonny tells Mike to get lost. With Mike gone, Angel and Sonny discuss what this baby could mean. They talk about betrayal.


At the Port Charles Hotel...

Stavros (er...Lucien) & Gia are at dinner, he kisses her. He fluffs her up with a million compliments. He tells her she should fight back. She becomes a little suspicious and wonders why he even cares. He claims he just wants to make her feel better. He takes her up to her hotel room and flatters her some more. As he attempts to kiss her again, she pulls away and tells him he should leave. Stefan knocks on her door and Stavros goes to hide. Stefan is surprised Gia isn't going to fight for Nikolas and questions whether she ever really loved him. Stefan calls his brother a "selfish, hateful, egomaniacal predator," which doesn't make the overhearing Stavros too happy. Stefan leaves, Stavros comes out of hiding and refers to Stefan as a "bitter shell of a man who should be put out of his misery."


At Luke's Club...

Roy & Melissa share a slow dance and a kiss. Felicia bursts in, worried that she can't find Luke. Roy mentions that Luke disappearing isn't that rare of a thing, but Felicia thinks this is different. Roy promises to check out the town and see what he can find out. She gives him Stavros' necklace to see what he can find out about that. He leaves to take Melissa home. Stavros sneaks out from the backroom and pours himelf a drink, toasting to Luke. He puts his necklace back on and vows to take care of Stefan next.
