General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 18-Jul-2001

The aftermath of the bombing of the Harborview penthouse was the focus of today's episode. Carly, Alexis, Taggert and Zander were all knocked out by the blast. Carly started to come to, uttered Sonny's name and went out again. Taggert stirred, staggered to his feet, and stumbled around Alexis's apartment. Felt the pulse of Zander, Alexis and Carly, then got up, drew his gun and approched the Corinthos'. He got as far as the hallway, peered in, and succumbed to his exhaustion.

Meanwhile, news reports were being read over the radio. Nicholas and Gia were at the cottage, and Nicholas, after hearing the news, rushed to check on Alexis. Liz and Lucky were at their room at Kelly's and they too left to check on Zander and Alexis. Bobbie heard the news at the hospital, where she bumped into her old flame Roy,and they left in a hurry to check on Carly.

Mike hadn't heard the news, so he was knocking on Angel's door, insisting on seeing Sonny. Angel wouldn't let him call the police after he figured out that Sonny had gone to help Carly after all.
Angel heard the news on the radio, after Mike had left, and she too went to check on Sonny.

Melissa was at the Harborview Towers, apparently this woman jogs all over town and happens by all the tragedies. Roy and Bobbie arrived, Roy flashed his FBI badge, and was told the elevators were out, so no paramedics had gotten to the Penthouse. Roy, Bobbie and Melissa then somehow got in the back way and arrived at the Penthouse.

Carly was staggering around at that point, and was looking for Sonny. Instead, she found Sorrel. He asked for her help. She told him she would let him die. Roy then came upon the scene and sent Carly away. Roy picked up a piece of cinderblock and held it above Sorrel's head. He whispered to Sorrel "you are lucky that Carly found you first and knows that you are alive. If it was me, you would not have been so lucky. I would have made up for the secret that I am keeping from Melissa. At that moment, the paramedics arrived and found Roy over Sorrel with the cinderblock.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Lucky, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Gia arrive at the Towers. Lucky and Nicholar glared at each other. Lucky just wanted to be there for Nicholas. Nicholas blew him off and Elizabeth insisted that Gia and Lucky go to check on Taggert. Elizabeth then confronted Nicholas about he bizarre behavior. Nicholas was torn, but didnt' reveal the secret of his and Luke working together. Elizabeth asked Nicholas to forgive lucky, but Nicholas wouldn't hear of it.

AFter the paramedics took Sorrel and Zander away, Carly, Bobbie and Roy were still upstairs. Roy begged Carly to leave, but she was hysterical and wanted to find Sonny. She heard a faint beeping sound, and recognized it as Sonny's watch. She and Roy began frantically digging in the rubble for Sonny.
