General Hospital Update for Thursday, 12-Jul-2001

Thank God for Soap Net!

A few quick items...
This is my first update ever, and it's pretty long.

I'm actually boycotting GH (again) right now. The reasons are too lengthy to list. But I've always wanted to do an update so I taped today's show. Hopefully everything will be clear and readable for everyone.

For some reason this update comes up in big bold letters on my computer screen. Sorry if this happens to you as well but I don't know that it's something I can fix.

Nik's house:
Nik walks in and Gia is in the living room. She is packing a bag for yoga class. He tells her that before she leaves they have to work things out. She asks him if he honestly believes that Lucky would try to come on to her. Nik vaguely tells her that there were other reasons behind his decision to kick Lucky out. Gia wonders if maybe she's next and tells him to give her more notice than he did Lucky. Nik swears that he would *never* do that to her...hmmm...

In the bowels of GH:
Helena brings Lucky to meet Stavros. Stavros: "My Laura gave birth to this!" Whatever. Then he notices how strange Lucky is acting and Helena tells him that Lucky is under her control -- "He is completely at my disposal." Stavros replies that killing him should be simple and proceeds to attack Lucky. Lucky has a surprise of his own as he whips out a muscle from somewhere and knocks Stavvy against a table. Lucky stands over him with that vacant stare.

On the road:
Luke (barely in disguise) knocks out a trucker who is driving a shipment for Helena. He gets in the truck cab and drives away.

On the docks:
Alexis and Sonny talk about Carly. Alexis tells him that Carly is hurt and Sonny immediately gets concerned.

At the penthouse:
Sorel has Carly at gunpoint and tells her that Sonny did her a favor by dumping her. He hints that Carly should change teams since she likes power and Sorel is now on the way up. She was with Jason, then Sonny, and now she should be with Sorel. She laughs in his face and he doesn't take that too well.

(commercial break)

On the docks:
Alexis explains to Sonny that Carly is not hurt...literally. He reitreates that he cannot live with a woman who turned him over to the Feds. Alexis tells Sonny that A.J. is back on the offensive trying to get Michael. He listens and then asks if there is anything else new. When she says no, he leaves without saying any more, much to Alexis' chagrin.

At the penthouse:
Sorel tells Carly that if he wants her, she's his. He says that everything that was Sonny's will become his, once Sonny is dead.

On the road:
Luke opens the back of the truck to find...Felicia. She's trying to figure out what Helena is up to and Luke is thoroughly annoyed to find her there. She tells him that she is going to help whether he likes it or not.

Under GH:
Helena tells Lucky to back off and explains to Stavvy that he is programmed to protect her whenever necessary. Stavros has some programming suggestions of his own -- bark like a dog, jump off a very tall building -- Helena tells him to quit joking around.

Nik's house:
Gia wants to know what's going on but before Nikolas can say anything else Laura arrives. As Gia leaves, he tells her that they'll finish their discussion later. Laura tells Nik that she's worried about him and asks him not to go through with his plan.

(commercial break)

Bowels of GH:
Helena tells Stavvy that Lucky is there to finish the programming. She tells him not to lose sight of what they are there to do. But Stavvy is impatient and wants what was taken from him NOW - including his son. He tells her to do everything she can to find out where Nik's true allegiances are. Stavvy tells her that "One
way or the other, he WILL return to this family."

Nik's:
Laura tells him the plan is too dangerous. Nik says it won't be if Helena believes that he has returned to the family. They go round and round.

On the road:
Luke tells Felicia she's repeating past mistakes. Felicia tells him not to worry because her kids are out of town and she's been dreaming about him so it must be o.k. for her to act like a crazy nut. She also tells him that she's "willing to wait" for him. Awwww. She begins looking in the crates to see what Helena's been hiding. I think she makes a reference to Shaquille O'Neal (NBA player)??

Penthouse:
Carly expresses her undying love for Sonny. Sorel asks her if her feelings would change if he had Michael and Carly tries to hit him. Alexis knocks on the door and calls out to Carly. Sorel opens the door and forces her inside. He now holds both women at gunpoint.

Sonny's office:
One of Sonny's men "brings" A.J. in to see Sonny. A.J. says he will add kidnapping to the custody petition. Same 'ol threats exchanged -- A.J. will prove he was forced to sign the papers and that they are unfit parents, Sonny says he can prove A.J. torched the wharehous and that he killed his son by throwing Carly down the stairs. A.J. tells him that he was just at the penthouse and Carly actually wouldn't let him leave until he believed that Sonny was dead.

Penthouse:
Alexis slips and lets Sorrel know that Sonny is alive. Sorel wants to know where he is, or else...

On the docks:
Zander walking around looking pensive. Lucky shows up and asks him what's going on. Zander yells at him for not coming by to see Emily. They exchange heated words and Lucky ends up challenging Zander to a fight. Zander backs down and they sit on some benches to finish talking. Zander thanks Lucky and Nik for helping them out and says that the two of them make a pretty good team. Lucky says "Yeah. We did."

Nik's:
Nik tells his Mom that he can't just stand by -- he is the only one that can get close enough to stop his family. Laura doesn't want to trade one son for another.

(commercial break)

On the road:
Luke and Felicia sift through boxes. Felicia discusses her recent dream with Luke (described in earlier updates). Felicia finds a stack of manifests for all the shipments.

On the docks:
The two boys continue to talk and skip rocks in the water. When Znder throws a rock, he reveals a gun he is carrying. Lucky starts yelling at him about carrying a gun and "all this hate and all this violence." He then says that somebody has to put a stop to it...

Nik's:
Laura tells Nik that Helena will destroy her own if necessary. Nik reassures her and tells her that he just can't stand by and do nothing. Laura tells him that she's proud of him. They hug.

Penthouse:
Sorel demands that Alexis disclose Sonny's location. Alexis says that she doesn't know where Sonny is and Sorel threatens to fill 'er up with lead. Carly jumps in front of Alexis and tells him that she doesn't know where Sonny is. Sorel gets even more agitated and tells them that Sonny has 1 hour to show up or one of them is going to die.

Sonny's office:
Sonny asks A.J. for more details about his visit to the penthouse. He explains that Carly didn't want him to leave until he understood her grief and that she mentioned something terrible happening. He says that she practically begged him to stay -- and that doesn't make sense. Why would she do that??????

(commercial break)

On the road:
Luke and Flea ponder the manifests. A number of serious-sounding chemicals are listed. They are banned internationally!!! Some are connected to Desert Storm. Furrowed brows all around.

Nik's:
Laura continues to tell Nik how proud she is of him but that she is still against the plan. Nik hears something in the bushes -- it's Helena! He breaks into angryNik mode and starts yelling at Laura for always taking Lucky's side. He tells her that he had every single right to kick Lucky out of the house. Helena intently listens outside.

On the docks/the end:
More boy talk. I realize that Zander is a better actor than Lucky but less attractive. Zander pulls out the gun and points it toward the water. He begins to talk about how the gun makes him feel and...my tape runs out. Apparently the last thing that happens is back at the penthouse. The phone rings, Carly picks it up, and Sonny is on the other end.
