General Hospital Update for Monday, 9-Jul-2001

AT THE HOSPITAL:
Zander tells Alan and Ned that he was wrong to stay close to Emily. At the time he couldn't think of anything worse than being away from her, now he knows that her death would be far worse. He tells Alan to send Emily away to rehab, but not to let him know where she is, thereby keeping Emily safe from Sorrel. Ned convinces Alan to give the young lovers one last night together before sending Emily away.

Zander brings Emily a beautiful bouquet of flowers, which she make him give back when he confesses to taking them from another room. He tells her that there is still no news on Sorrel's whereabouts, and assures her she will be safe as half the PCPD are outside her door. He gives her a lovely necklace, tells her he will always love her and lies down with her.

AT THE COTTAGE:
Gia and Lucky discuss the particulars of a photo shoot for Deception. Nik walks in and finds the pair close together on the sofa, laughing. He demands that Lucky get his hands off of HIS girlfriend. When Lucky tries to explain that he fell off a chair (and on to GIA) while describing a photo angle, Nik tells him to stuff it. He knows when a guy is making a pass at a girl. Liz arrives and is the voice of reason, she knows living together is hard, but they can find a new place if it is getting TOO difficult. "Good" says Nik "I want you gone tonight!" Unknown to all, Helena eavesdrops from outside the front door. Later Lucky tries to thank Nik for his help, but Nik rebuffs him with harsh words. Lucky ends up saying that maybe Luke was right about Nik all along. They do pack their bags and leave, but Liz tells Nik that if anything (meaning Helena) happens to Lucky, she will never for give HIM.

AT THE SECRET LAB:
Helena tells Stavros that she overheard Nik throwing Lucky out. When Stavros expresses doubt about Nik's sincerity, Helena tells him she has a test for Nik, which will prove his loyalty to the family.

AT ANGELS' HOUSE:
Sonny answers Angel's question; He IS through with Carly. Angel tries her hand at Tarot reading, and sees that there IS still some thing that Sonny has to do with/about Carly. The talk turns to Angel's family and she tells him she had strong parents and a happy loving childhood, it was perfect, except… she won't say anymore than that. They discuss travel preferences, and Sonny admits he has always wanted to go to Greece. Angel has been there, recently, and tells him about it. They pause to hear a news bulletin about dangerous criminal-at-large Joseph Sorrel. Angels realizes that is who is after Sonny, would he come to Greece with her? Why? Asks Sonny. She doesn't want him to be the next body on Sorrel's list of crimes. Sonny asks her, "When do you want to go?"

AT LUKE'S OFFICE:
Laura arrives and asks Luke why he hit Nik, she knows he must have a good reason for doing so. Luke tells her that Nik came to him again with the idea of working together to get Lucky away from Helena for good. Laura is upset because Nik would be in danger if Helena found out and demands they put a stop to it. Luke tells her Nik is a MAN and sometimes a man's got to what a man's got to do. Luke almost sounds like a proud papa when he relates to her how well Nik played along even though he(Nik) didn't know it was coming when Luke showed up at the PC Grill. He tells her not to worry he will keep her children safe. She tells him that she has been feeling a "Shadow" that has even invaded her dreams. When Luke admits the same, they exchange nightmares** and realize they both dreamt of Stavros. They decide it has no real meaning, just a common nightmare that has been part of their lives for so long. Before she leaves. Luke tells Laura that he no longer sees Stavros when he looks at Nik. Now, he just sees HER son.

AT THE PENTHOUSE:
Sorrel questions Carly about Sonny whereabouts. Carly denies any knowledge and tries to convince Sorrel that Sonny has left her for good. Sorrel doesn't believe her; he saw how upset Sonny was the day Sonny visited him in jail (with the fake bomb). But if it is true, he tells Carly, he will save Sonny the trouble of divorcing her. Later he tells Carly that he stabbed Sonny at Lily's grave, but knows he is not dead because no body has been found. This upsets Carly enough for her to grab a fireplace poker and charge at Sorrel, but she fails to hit him. The attempt angers Sorrel enough to pull his gun. The bell saves her, literally, when Taggart knocks on the door. Sorrel warns Carly that if she gives him up, Bobbie and Michael will pay the price. Carly is her usual rude self to Taggart, but won't let him in the penthouse. Taggart just wanted to warn her that Sorrel is still on the loose (well duh!) and she should help him by telling him where Sonny is. After Taggart leaves, Carly tries to convince Sorrel that he will gain nothing from killing her now. Sorrel calls one of his men and tells him to put the word out that he has Carly. That should get Sonny's attention and bring him out of hiding.
