General Hospital Update for Thursday, 21-Jun-2001

Today's GENERAL HOSPITAL was super good! My hat's off to the cast, writers, and directors. The 8th. ANNUAL NURSES BALL was held on the heliport of the hospital. A cute, versatile Lucy did the honors again as Mistress of Ceremonies. She kept the soiree going ,and helped the people to open up their hearts and purses to give to THE AIDS FOUNDATION.My favorite two acts were when Luke stepped in to help Felicia do a ROCK N'ROLL special.He accidentally pulled her skirt off which left her bedecked in pantaloons. Another fav ,surprising act was when Nicholas, Gia, and Lucky sang and danced to the tune of ON THE ROOF. I did not realize how well each could sing ,and how well a lovely,poised Gia could float across the stage. During this gala benefit, a train had hit, none other than, the bus that Zander and Emily had taken. When Alan and Monica examined EM, she could not wiggle her toes. a grief-stricken Zander tries to tell them of dangers involved with Sorel at- large. No one really listens to his plea for help. I felt soooo bad for him because he truly adores Emily.The family, as usual, tells him to get lost.He sits alone in the park and cries. This is after he has accosted the guy in a Hawaiian shirt who had been following him and EM. (A SIDE NOTE): I wonder if this is Amber(EM's Last day on GH). Believe me, she will be missed . I have watched her develop well her skills as a young actress! But, back to the AIDS Benefit... Stavros has informed a frightened Helena that he is going to kill Luke and set HIS LAURA free. "Mommy Dearest" is learning that her son Stavros is not the same. He locks her in her room and leaves to go to the affair. He lurks in the corners while observing Luke and Laura. In the meantime, Helena has freed herself and goes to this fun-filled event. Luke grabs her to interrogate her. Stavros had told Helena that if she had not interfered that his "beloved Laura" would still be with him. A shocked Helena is upset with his STILL WANTING LAURA. What did she expect after 20 years? :-)One very touching moment is when Emily tells her dad that she is sorry that she missed his song. With tears in his eyes, he sings to Em "NOTHING IS GOING TO HARM YOU." A worried, sullen Skye looks on. As the successful soiree comes to an end, the lovely ,talented Dara sings SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW.This viewer wonders what Zander is going to do with the gun he has taken from Alexis' home.Also,When will the demented Stavros make his move.More action -packed days are to come on GH.So, tune in tomorrow.
