General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 17-Apr-2001

This is my first time doing this. Please bear with me! I'll try to get better. I've listed my email address at the end. If you have any suggestions (on what I can do to make it better, i.e. too long, too much detail, not enough detail, etc) please write me. BE GENTLE!!

OPENING SCENES:
Stephan arrives at penthouse and warns Alexis that Nick is about to do something stupid. Nick arrives and tells Stephan (yet again) that he is through with the Cassadines.

On the docks, Helena (holding the Ice Princess) tells Lucky "It is time!."

At the hospital (private room) as Edward insists on being released, A.J. asks if it was Zander who attacked him.

In a barn (location unknown) Emily and Zander are preparing to consummate their relationship, But they are interrupted by Emily's ringing purse.

At the hospital (ER) Roy and (nameless) drug addict struggle, gun goes off, PCPD rush in and subdue said druggie. Roy looking dazed (and still holding gun) realizes he has been shot and collapses.

STEPHAN tries to reason with Nick, but Nick will not have it. As far as he is concerned Steph and Helena can fight it out. Stephan accuses Alexis of using her influence over Nick (by supporting his renouncement) to get revenge on Helena (for killing her mother) and the rest of the Cassadines (for not accepting her as part of the family). Nick says Alexis is part of HIS family, as are Laura, Lucky and Lulu. Tells Stephan to think of him as "Nicholas Spencer" from now on. Steph leaves, muttering "NEVER". Nick wonders why getting control is so important if Steph is rich in his own right. Alexis explains, it gets attention from Helena, something Steph didn't have as a child. She tells Nick changing his name won't stop him being a Cassadine, he should get the money and do good with it. Nick stands firm. He didn't ask to be born (especially into this family) if Alexis won't help (and he understands why) he will find an attorney who will help him renounce his legacy. Alexis assures him, no matter what, they will always be family.

LUCKY tries to resist. Helena uses the hold of the Ice Princess to convince Lucky to "DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE". Which is, have Luke destroyed by his own son. Helena leaves, Lucky sits down still in daze/shock. Liz arrives and snaps him out of it. She suggests going back to her room snuggling and finding "something" to do. Lucky refuses, he has something to do. Liz's questions get him to admit that sometimes he feels afraid for no apparent reason. Lucky gets upset when Liz suggests a session with Kevin. She ends up reassuring him that all will be well. Lucky leaves. Before Liz can leave, Helena arrives and asks where Lucky is. Liz pretty much tells her "None of your business". Helena is pleased. Lucky arrives at Luke's office. It is empty. Lucky starts to leave, when something on the desk catches his attention.

EMILY'S phone call is from A.J. with the news about Edwards mugging. She feels guilty for yelling at Edward; he has a bad heart. Zander is very understanding and rushes her to the hospital. Emily goes in to see Edward, while Z waits in the hall. When she asks, Edward says he doesn't remember the attack. He asks her to come home - He misses her. Emily misses him also, but before she agrees to come home, Edward has to agree that she and Zander can keep seeing each other. In the hall A.J. confronts Zander. A.J. accuses Z of being Edwards's attacker just as Emily steps in to hallway. As they argue Taggart arrives and asks what is going on. A.J. hints/suggests/accuses that Z was the attacker, just as an officer arrives and hands Taggart a plastic baggie. It is Edward's wallet. The police recovered it from the drug addict who was wrecking havoc in the GH ER and is now in police custody (Thanks to Roy). Emily tells A.J. "I told you Zander didn't do it!".

AT HIS office Luke hears about the incident at GH on the radio. Roy is in critical condition. Monica, Bobbie and Melissa prepare Roy for surgery. Alan won't let Bobbie assist. Melissa tries to reassure Bobbie. Bobbie rips into to Melissa. It's all her fault. If Melissa had gotten out when she had the chance, instead of trying to use the incident to get Roy's attention, Roy wouldn't have been shot. Luke arrives as Bobbie stalks off. Melissa tries to explain/defend herself. She thought it was better if there were TWO people in with the druggie. Surprisingly Luke is supportive. He tells her that Roy is responsible for his own actions. Bobbie sneaks into the OR to watch. Melissa goes to the GH chapel to pray. While Bobbie watches surgeons work on Roy, we hear Melissa confess (to God) that she came to PC to try and get another chance with Roy, now she just wants Roy to live. Outside the OR Bobbie tells Luke Roy made it through the surgery. Luke reassures Bobbie, if Roy didn't die when they left him for dead on the street, he will make it through this also. Roy's condition is stable. Bobbie sits with him in recovery. Melissa watches from doorway.
