General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 28-Mar-2001

This was a rather somber show today except for Scott, and I guess LuLu's duck. Scott ran over her duck when he went to see Laura so he rushed to Bobbie "TO MEND Ducky's BROKEN FOOT". Being the good nurse she is, she took the place of a Vet.In the meantime, Melissa ,dressed beautifully, went to Luke's Place and flirted with Roy. She cajoled him to play the piano for her. I am inclined to think that she may be playing games with this slightly vulnerable man. Roy tells her that she is not a good liar and she retorts: "UNLIKE YOU"... We'll see, as time progresses, what damage she may inflict on Bobbie and Roy's love.
Both Carly and Alexis are in deep trouble with their men. Carly agitates Sonny with her Jealousy, and nagging remarks. She said:"How long will it be before Michael and I are killed in an accident?" That's the last straw for Sonny so he tells her to Shut up, and he leaves. Alexis leaves Sonny's penthouse and finds a rather disgusted and hurt Ned waiting for her. Alexis has gotten so caught up in Zander's disappearance that she tells Ed that she can't go on a romantic trip with him.One wonders how much more rejection Ned can handle. Time will tell!
A very touching time occurs between Alan and his dad Edward when he reveals that Monica must have a biopsy on Friday morning. For once, Edward lets down his barrier and literally touches his son with empathy. Yet.. Edward sticks his big foot in his mouth when he says to a sad, reflective AJ,"You will understand when you have children.".AJ tells him I am a DAD, but Edward says "You only sired him". This may be true ,but it is hurtful to AJ. Alan ,then, tells AJ that they are addicts who can bond and help each other through this, perhaps, reoccurrence of cancer in Monica.
Now, let's get back to a distraught Sonny who overhears a father reprimanding his son.Sonny intervenes, and the man says "MY SON WAS ALMOST KILLED BY A CAR".Sonny told him that he was sorry for interfering. This scene triggered a flashback which involves his stepfather's abusing him and his mom. It is a distressful moment for him.Carly regrets having said ugly things to him.
As today's show ends, Melissa puts her head on Roy's shoulder as he plays the piano. Of course, Bobbie walks in to see this. This writer still wonders if Dear Melissa has an overt plan in store for a man "WHO WRONGED HER".As viewers, We'll see.
