General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 10-Jan-2001

Liz and Lucky go ice skating. Lucky says he isn't too good at it so Liz tries to teach him.

Laura sees Bobby at Kelly's and they discuss Roy's past. Laura thinks that Roy was concerned about a particular case involving a woman. Bobby says that if she keeps questioning Roy he is just going to think she is jealous. Bobby thanks Laura for not making any major decisions about Deception without Carly. Laura tells her about hiring Elton. Bobby asks Laura if she is over Luke and Laura tells her that she moved on with her life so she guesses she is. On her way out Felicia is on her way in. Bobby tells Felicia about Laura moving on with her life. Felicia says she can't understand how Laura could move on because she isn't ready to move on from Mac. Bobby tells her to tell Mac, since he just walked in. Of course she can't and her and Mac discuss how nice it is they can work together and be just friends.

Edward goes into the den for breakfast but finds that the staff is on a strike against everyone except Lila. Reginald tells Edward if he wants coffee he should call take-out. Edward tells Ned that Alan and Monica have taken Emily to California to boarding school. Ned Berates Edward for interfering and getting Alan and Monica to take Emily away. Ned leaves to go let Alexis and Zander know about Emily.

Alexis and Zander get ready to go to court to testify. Zander is afraid that when he tells his story the Grand Jury might decide to go back on their deal. Alexis assures him that won't happen.
They have to hurry so they can see Emily before the testimony(They don't know she is gone yet)At courthouse Alexis and Zander look for Emily. After Zander is called in to testify Ned shows up and tells Alexis that Alan and Monica took Emily to California because they don't ever want Em to see Zander again. Zander testifies against Cerell.
Afterward Ned and Alexis tell Zander about Emily.
He runs off and goes to the Quartermain's. Lila tells him that it is true. Zander says he cares for Emily and would die to keep her safe, Edward comes in and goes berserck, waving around the fireplace poker. Zander tells him he is an old fossil and he can't change the way Emily feels about him. After he leaves Edward wants to call the police but Lila won't let him, saying Zander was a gentleman and charming until Edward showed up.

Emily is taken to boarding school but she doesn't want anything to do with Alan and Monica. Alan and Monica are acting like this is what Emily wants. Emily goes into a tirade and tells her parents that they treated her better when she was taking drugs. Emily tries to convince her parents to let her go home with them but they say no. Monica tries to tell Emily that this is for her own good and they leave her behind.(big crying scene) Emily puts on her uniform (real ugly and drab) and the head mistress informs her she must be present at all classes and meals and she is to make no phone calls except to home, the only phone is in her office. Emily thinks she is in prison. She looks in her wallet and finds her credit card so she gets on the internet and orders a plane ticket to New York.
