Things are heating up for the holidays in Port Charles thanks to the “Mistletoe Massacre”…

They replayed the shooting spree to start the episode. Eventually, Garcia came out of the station and called for an ambulance. The Q’s were scared to death for Emily (Ned called the station to check on her and heard what happened). Ned, Alan, and Monica headed to GH to check on Em. Chloe stayed with Grandfather and A.J. joined them while they waited. Once the fear had passed and they heard that Em was OK, Chloe and A.J. thanked each other for taking care of Grandfather. A bit of a spark flew, or that may have been glitter from Chloe’s ever-present bellybutton.

As it turns out, the ladies, Emily and Alexis, were spared and the gangster (Sonny) and gangster-in-training (Zander) were hit. Zander shielded Emily and was hit in the shoulder. He should be fine. Emily stayed with Zander into the ambulance then refused to leave the hospital with Monica and Alan when they came to fetch her.

Sonny appears to be hurt quite seriously. At the hospital, Alexis raced to find Carly (who was upstairs at the GH Christmas party) because Sonny insisted she “tell Carly I love her.” Will we finally hear the L-word uttered from Carly as well, on Sonny’s deathbed? Alexis hasn’t delivered the message yet. When Alexis stepped off the elevator bloody from head to toe, Carly calmly told Johnny to take the little towhead home to Leticia. Quite responsible and impressive- not the usual fly-off-the-handle escapades we expect from Mrs. C. Ironically, Mrs. C had just finished telling Bobbie (Ms. Cleavage) how Sonny really brings out the best in her and makes her happier than she ever thought possible. Carly ran to Sonny’s side and told him that she’s there for him and to hang on.

Meanwhile, Ned checks on Emily then searches the hospital for Alexis. They run into a relieved and warm embrace, a sharp contrast from the cool encounter previously at the police station.

The young lovebirds ran out on the GH party and returned to Ruby’s lovenest to exchange Christmas presents: a cardboard Christmas scene for Lucky from our aspiring Picasso and a guitar to replace the one he lost in the fire. Lucky gave Liz a necklace that she insists is “just my taste”. Liz asks Lucky to sing “her song” and he does a laugh-out-loud rendition. These two really have to go- if not for this update I promised to write, my finger was itching for the fast-forward button. Yuck. After the serenade, Liz promises to dress up as an elf again next year (which apparently gets Mr. Frosted Hair all hot and bothered) and says that elves make Christmas wishes come true (kiss, kiss)…

Meanwhile, Taggert and Mac vow to nab the culprits- Taggert brings in Sorel for questioning.

Zander tells Alan to “back off”.
