General Hospital Update for Friday, 8-Dec-2000

Friday was a day of pre-wedding parties for Ned and Alexis. Both Ned's bachelor party and Alexis' bachelorette party were showcased. But before the big parties…

Alexis ran into Sonny on the docks and asked him to help Zander out, since the DA's office had pulled their plea bargain off the table. Sonny agreed to help and later paid Zander a visit. On his way into the station, Sonny confronted Taggert and accused him of jumping to conclusions and using Zander. He also gave Taggert a dig about how the department has lost face, based on all their work on a murder case when the guy (Stefan) wasn't even dead.

Once inside the visitor's room, Sonny gave Zander advice only a mobster could give: "think and watch…cops are not your friends" and reassured Zander that his people (presumably on the inside) will take care of him. Sonny gave Zander his word that he would do everything in his power to keep him alive.

Meanwhile, at Kelly's…

A quick scene with Bobbie and Roy has Roy telling Bobbie that he lifted the original work order from the garage and the brake work request is not listed. Bobbie is starting to wonder if she's losing it, since she's convinced she asked for the brake work.

Gia and her mom butt heads again about Gia's living arrangements. Gia reassures her mom that she and Nicholas are just friends and don't socialize together. Her mom confides that she has a good feeling that she's going to get the administration job at GH. Nicholas comes in and blows Gia's cover (that they don't socialize) when he reminds her about the bachelorette party.

Liz shuts down Kelly's early (with Bobbie's permission) to plan a romantic rendezvous with Lucky. They have a private candlelight dinner, dance to tunes from the jukebox then blow out the candles and head upstairs for more privacy.

The Bachelor Party (at Jake's)…

AJ is obnoxious as usual, swigging from his ever-present flask. He even spills on Edward but then the cat is out of the bag when Edward realizes that it's only water- not vodka! But how long has A.J. been playing drunk as an "excuse to be obnoxious"?

Alexis has asked Luke to go to the party as someone who will say nice things about her in the tough crowd ("Edward would rather I eat ground glass than marry Ned…"). Luke agrees and brings Roy, but only because they hope to win some money from the Q's at the poker table. Luke's is hurting for cash- the creditors are calling.

Juan has a few beers and whines to Nicholas about being given the boot by Emily in favor of the kidnapper (Zander). Basically, poor me, everything's going great with my music but now I don't have Emily. Nicholas (always Mr. Rescue) gets him out of there before he does any damage.

The Girls' Party…

Chloe and Felicia catch up with a girlie chat. Felicia confides about how difficult it was to testify that she was with Luke on the night of Stefan's "murder". Chloe gets her to admit that she'd like to be with Luke, but she can't see how she could make it work…"it's so fun…gives me this fire that I need." Felicia finally admits that she can't be without him. Chloe explains that regardless of what everyone thinks, Stefan was a great comfort to her on the island, "a gentleman." She says she had to understand Jax's need to look for Brenda and believes that he's "not coming back."

Carly and Gia have a quick chat about Gia's and Sonny's Brooklyn connection: that Sonny's stepfather Deke always looked out for Taggert. Carly tells Gia that that's not a good memory and not to bring it up again.

The "Cliffhanger"…

Although the Friday cliffhangers have gone the way of vinyl records, the pseudo-cliffhanger: strippers at both parties! A Lois look-alike popped out of a cake at Jake's for the boys; a beefcake stripped down to his underpants and sat on Alexis' lap, just in time for a press photo-op.
