General Hospital Update for Monday, 4-Dec-2000

Alexis shows up at Laura’s new office with some contracts for Laura to sign. Laura looks puzzled and Alexis tells her that she is Sonny’s attorney and the contracts are regarding his financial interests in Deception. Alexis also tells Laura that it is strange because their connection has always been Stephan. They both appear a bit melancholy at the mention of his name, since neither is yet aware that he is “back from the dead” and very much alive and well and back in Port Charles as they speak.

Gia and AJ are at Kelly’s discussing her new job. Taggert and Hannah return from running. Taggert sees Gia taking money from AJ so he goes over, grabs the money from his sister, and says in a rather sarcastic, accusatory tone of voice, “I didn’t know you knew AJ.” Gia grabs the money back from Taggert and replies, “Be careful who you’re speaking to, this is my new boss!” Hannah joins them and asks what is going on. Taggert tells her, “It seems my sister has landed a job.” AJ smiles proudly and informs the two that he has hired Gia as his new Assistant Public Relations Person for his football team. Taggert looks at AJ and says, “Well, congratulations, you won’t find a harder worker than my little sister!” “I’m already starting to see that.” AJ responds with a smile, never taking his eyes off Gia’s. Taggert looks from Gia to AJ, then turns to Hannah and says he has to get to work and he’ll see her later. As he passes by AJ on his way out he quietly says, "Be careful” (which is not exactly made clear whether he is talking to AJ or Hannah, maybe a little of both, eh!) After Taggert’s departure, AJ tells Gia, “I’ll take you to practice and introduce you to the team and then next week we’ll sit down and discuss a prospectus for that website you were talking about.” They are both clearly speaking directly to each other and Hannah continues to stand there like a three-dollar bill. “OK, great” Gia smiles back at AJ. Hannah can no longer contain herself and says to AJ, “Do you mind if I have a word in private with Gia?” Gia looks at Hannah and says, “I’m in the middle of a business meeting….” But AJ smiles and assures Gia that it is fine. He happily remarks, “You know this is great, my new assistant and my friend get along so well! Do you have a cellphone?” “No.” Gia says. “We’ll take care of that! I’ll see you later.” AJ smiles at both girls and leaves.

After AJ’s departure, Hannah tells Gia that she has no doubt in Gia’s abilities, but that AJ is only hiring her to break up Hannah and Taggert! Gia, not one to be put down, firmly tells Hannah that Marcus (Taggert’s first name for those of you that don’t know) can take care of himself, and that Gia needs the job to pay the rent. As Hannah tries to get Gia to see the situation from her point of view, Gia very candidly states that
Hannah is the one that is “sleeping with Gia’s brother and still keeping AJ on a string!” Gia tells Hannah that she doesn’t like seeing someone do that to her brother and that Hannah had better check her own motives! (You go girl……..)



Meanwhile, over at GH, Nikolas gives his Uncle a giant hug, which Stephan returns with the same intensity and tears stream down Nikolas’ cheeks. Bobbie, Lucky, Mac, Chloe, Alan, and Monica watch the encounter, each with their own thoughts regarding Stephan’s “return from the dead”. Lucky whispers to Bobbie, “Wait until my Dad finds out!” and Bobbie replies, “My thoughts exactly.” Nikolas then takes Lucky aside for a private conversation. They discuss telling Laura that Stephan is alive and Lucky’s plans to go away for the weekend with Elizabeth. Lucky tells his brother that he and Elizabeth will postpone their weekend and that Lucky will go with Nikolas to tell their mother about Stephan. Nikolas informs Lucky that there is no reason for him and Liz to put off their plans and he can go and see Laura on his own. He finally gets Lucky to agree and Lucky leaves for Kelly’s.

Liz prepares for her weekend getaway with Lucky. When Lucky gets to Kelly’s, he tells Liz that he has something to talk to her about. She tells him that she also has something to talk to Lucky about! Elizabeth tells Lucky that she made a promise to Emily for Robin Scorpio to ask Lucky if he had been tested for HIV/AIDS. Lucky told her that he had when he got back from his “exile” and was negative. Elizabeth told Lucky that after the rape, she had also been tested, three times, each six months apart, and that her tests also were negative. Since Liz had the birth control pills and Lucky had condoms and they had both been tested, they agreed that it was safe. Then, Lucky told Elizabeth about he and Nikolas finding Stephan at GH! Liz suggested that perhaps they should postpone their weekend together because Nikolas would probably need a friend right now. Lucky told Liz that he had said the same exact thing to Nikolas, but Nik insisted that he was fine and did not want Lucky and Elizabeth to postpone their weekend on his account.
Gia walks up to Lucky and Liz and catches the tail end of their conversation in time to hear something about Nikolas needing a friend. She asked what was going on and Lucky told her that Stephan was alive. Gia asked where Nikolas was and Lucky told her that he had gone to Laura’s new office to tell her the news. Gia said she knew where the place was and would go to Nikolas. After Gia left Kelly’s, Lucky and Liz realized that there was nothing stopping them now. Lucky and Liz left Kelly’s hand in hand, on their way to a romantic weekend getaway in which they fully agreed to finally “consummate” their “permanent lock”….. (Isn’t first love the best love!)


Roy is at Kelly’s making some final checks on wiring and such that was damaged during “Luke’s” fire. He assures Tammy that she has nothing to worry about, unless she lets Luke back in to the kitchen again!
He sees Hannah sitting at the counter and realizes that something is on her mind. Roy asks his daughter to sit at a table with him and let him try to help with whatever is bothering her. Hannah tells Roy about AJ hiring Gia and that she thinks AJ’s motives are purely to break up her and Taggert. Hannah also tries to convince Roy that she has no feelings for AJ and Taggert is her guy. Roy informs his daughter that if that were completely true, Hannah wouldn’t care who AJ hired or why, nor would she spend so much time thinking about him and how to “let him down gently” and what his motives are, etc.! As Roy gets up to leave he tells Hannah that she ought to think about her own real feelings and motives regarding AJ.

Luke and Felicia discuss the plan to pose as two Cassadine relatives in order to gain access to information regarding the possible locations of the “Ice Princess” as well as information on all of the Cassadine Family financial holdings. At first Felicia says she can’t, but Luke assures her that it is a local “job” and she will be home in time for dinner. On those terms Felicia agrees. Luke is very pleased.

Sonny and Mike finish up their “reunion” in the park. Sonny asks Johnny to take Michael home, then turns around and says, “You can come out now.” Carly slowly emerges from behind the bushes and cautiously approaches Sonny. Sonny asks, “Are you happy now?” Carly looks him in the eyes, not sure exactly how to read him and the extent of his anger for the stunt she just pulled. As she walks towards him she begins explaining why she set up the “reunion” between Mike and Sonny. Carly is quick to point out that she did it because of how much Sonny has given her and means to her, but Sonny doesn’t see it that way and lets Carly know it. The confrontation between the two is not like the ones in the past, however. Sonny can see that Carly did this out of caring for him and is very calm but firm as he lets her know that he doesn’t like surprises of any kind because they could put her or Michael in danger. Sonny lets Carly know that she means too much to him to risk losing her and that he has to be able to trust that she won’t pull anymore “surprises” no matter how innocent or safe they seem to her. Carly agrees and they seal her promise with a kiss. Carly then invites Sonny out to dinner at the new place that just opened up in the park, to celebrate her promise and her new career. He agrees and they decide to meet back at the park in a couple of hours.
