General Hospital Update for Friday, 1-Dec-2000

Edward enters the room as Emily is kissing Lila good-bye. Edward asks Emily where she is going and Emily tells him that she is going to the mall to do some shopping. Edward is relentless, asking Emily "what" mall and in particular "what" stores she will be at. He then outright accuses Emily of actually intending to go to the PCPD to see Zander. Emily admits that she IS going to see Zander on her way home from shopping and Edward starts to go ballistic! Lila tells Edward to back off.

Chloe and Stephan are on an airplane on the way back to Port Charles. Chloe is very pleased that they were able to "outwit" the guards. She wonders aloud what Helena will do when she finds out they have "escaped". Stephan informs Chloe that HE will deal with Helena personally and the only thing Chloe needs to do is get to GH and get back on her treatment schedule and her medications. When they arrive at GH, Bobbie, Tony, Alan, Monica, and Mac are all at the nurse's station as the pair get off the elevator. Alan and Monica are very happy to see Chloe, however the reception for Stephan is bitter. Bobbie is furious with him and tells him that her brother had to stand trial for Stephan's "murder". Bobbie doesn't believe the "kidnapped and escape" story and calls Stephan a liar. Chloe defends Stephan and tells everyone that Helena had tbeen hem both prisoner on an island for the past three months. Bobbie isn't buying it and accuses Stephan of being behind the whole thing. Bobbie then asks Chloe if she ever once saw Helena on the island, or if Stephan merely told Chloe that Helena was behind the kidnapping. Chloe admits that she
didn't actually see Helena but is adamant in her defense of Stephan against Bobbie's accusations. Chloe firmly informs everyone that Stephan was there on the island, just as she was. She demands to know why they are treating Stephan as if he did something wrong. No one says a word.

Nikolas tells Ned that Juan's appearance at the mall was a success. Ned gives Nikolas a "pat on the back" for doing such a great job. Nikolas says that he couldn't have done it without Gia's help. When Nikolas finishes singing Gia's praises as an assistant PR person, Ned says L&B cannot afford to hire anyone right now. Later, Ned is at the PC Grill and catches Gia booking a promotional CD signing for Juan with the owner of a chain of record stores. The man agrees and then asks Gia if she can also get "Eddie Maine" to show up. The storeowner then sees Ned and asks him directly, telling Ned that Gia has just finished agreeing to Juan's personal appearance to sign his single at the store. Gia, realizes that Ned is not pleased with her and remains silent. Ned tactfully backs out of an Eddie Maine appearance and tells the storeowner that someone from L&B will be in touch regarding Juan. Ned then tells Gia that she has overstepped her bounds by representing herself as an employee of L&B and that he doesn't appreciate her actions. He is abrupt with her and informs her that she had better look for work elsewhere. AJ overhears and approaches Gia after Ned leaves with an employment proposition of his own, doing PR for his football team. Gia tells AJ that she doesn't know anything about football but AJ says that won't be a problem. During their conversation, AJ learns that Gia is Taggert's sister! Gia and AJ "close the deal" and Gia has finally landed a job!

Florence arrives at GH for a call back interview. Monica, Bobbie, and Florence discuss how much of an asset Florence will be to the hospital administration. Florence also says she will be delighted to be living in the same town with both of her kids again . Monica tells Florence that she has tremendous confidence in her and her abilities as an administrator as well as a people person. Monica adds that since her husband is the Chief of Staff, a position at GH is pretty much a "done deal".

Sonny and Carly have lunch at the grill. Carly is excited about "My first business meeting with my husband!" She is over the top with enthusiasm about Deception. Sonny tells her that he loves her ideas for Deception. Carly admits to being a bit nervous but says that she thinks this is one thing that she is good at, visualizing and marketing all of the colors and packaging for the Deception line of cosmetics. Sonny tells her that she is smart and very good at a lot of things and she just needs to have faith in herself and her own ideas. Carly tells Sonny that she will be in meetings with Laura all day and Sonny reassures her that meetings are good. They are about communication and much better than going behind someone's back.(and then he flashes those oh so awesome dimples....) Carly asks Sonny if he would please pick up Michael from pre-school and take him to the park. Sonny agrees and Carly kisses him good-bye and leaves for her "meetings". As soon as she is out of site of Sonny, Carly calls Mike and asks him to go to the park to visit with his Godson. Carly tells Mike that Michael will be in the park after pre-school with Leticia. After a little prodding on Carly's part, Mike agrees to go see Michael.

When Mike arrives at the park, Sonny, not Leticia, is pushing Michael on the swing and he realizes that Carly set it up for the two of them to run into each other. What he doesn't know is that Carly is hiding behind the bushes to witness the encounter. Mike tells Sonny, "Carly means well, she seems to think that you need me." As Mike turns to leave Sonny says, "You came back Mike, I didn't think you would." without looking up from Michael in the swing. Mike also tells Sonny that there are no words to describe his remorse for slapping Sonny. Sonny does not look at Mike, but he does let Mike continue to talk, trying to explain what he has attempted to do and why (in Mike's opinion) it has all been in Sonny's best interest. Mike tells Sonny that the wall Sonny has up around him to avoid getting hurt is something that Mike did. Sonny continues to push Michael in the swing and still will not look at Mike.

Mac interrogates Zander about who he is really working for, Sonny or Sorel. Zander reiterates to Mac that he never met Sonny prior to his visit the other day and that he was merely a local drug dealer for Sorel. Zander also tells Mac that he had no idea that Sorel was crazy enough to actually kill an undercover cop. Mac still doesn't believe Zander is telling the truth.

Emily does go to visit Zander after Mac's interrogation. Although Zander is glad to see her, he doesn't share her optimistic outlook regarding his case. He tells Emily that even though Alexis is the best and even with Emily's testimony, he is still going to do time. Emily disagrees and tries to convince Zander that everything will all work out for him.

Liz finds a great little Inn for their weekend hideaway and Lucky says he will take care of all the details. Liz asks him about transportation and Lucky tells her that he is going to ask Nikolas if they can borrow his car for the weekend. Lucky then leaves with Nikolas to head for GH and a session with Kevin.

As Lucky and Nikolas get off the elevator at GH, Nikolas sees Stephan. He is stunned and speechless, but manages to utter the word "Uncle?"! …. Tune in Monday for the startling truth!
