General Hospital Update for Monday, 2-Oct-2000

This is my first time for posting a daily update with SoapZone, in fact, I’ve only just discovered this site a week ago. I feel very proud to post this first update. I take this very seriously, as my VCR is prone to go on the blink on the most critical of days.

Just so you know, I’ll tell you what happened, but I’ll also editorialize. I will call the characters, the plots and outfits stupid, brilliant or boring---if they are. With that said on to the synopsis of Monday, October 2, 2000:

I missed Friday’s episode, so I’m a little lost, but I’m sure I didn’t miss much. Once again we spent too much time with the wrong Quatermaines, namely A.J. and Emily. These are two characters that I really like, but I hate their currently storylines. They alternate between whiny and just plain silly.

Today, Emily opens up to Xander about her troubled relationship with Juan after hearing their song on the radio. Something Juan did in attempt to reassure his kidnapped girlfriend. Who knew the little twit would develop feelings for someone who drugged her and a few weeks later shoved a gun into her neck! What a moron! I must digress just a little. So what if Sorell’s goons actually killed Ted! He’s still a drug dealer who drugged unsuspecting girls to increase his client base! This is not a nice person. He is someone to be avoided and if you have the opportunity to send the creep to jail, a moth would have the sense of self preservation to do it! Not our Emily, she has to whine about how much Juan hurt her. Duh! If she wasn’t an insecure bubblehead, she and Juan would have never gotten into that fight. Juan was wrong for kissing the other girl, but he needed a break!

Meanwhile A.J. is rushed to the hospital by Hannah and all the Q’s rally around him. Boo hoo….boo hoo…..Poor A.J. …."You destroyed A.J." ….."No you did"…"No wait I did" Yada Yada. Next

Juan and Nickolas snap at each other because they’re guys and that’s what guys do. Juan rips into Gia—because she Gia. Gia actually suggested that maybe Emily wasn’t the girl the cops thought they saw. The girl pretending that the guy she was with was a boyfriend. The cops think it was Xander and Emily, Juan doesn’t buy it. "There’s no way."

Liz and Lucky reaffirm their feelings and then they rush to off to this little town. Liz runs into Jason. She pours her heart out time…"Lucky really loves me…Helena has been controlling him the entire time." Sigh. Jason was understandable skeptical. Liz was on cloud nine, thanking Jason for distracting her during her wait for Lucky. Great. I hope they find an adequate love interest for Jason. He does not need to be everyone’s shoulder to cry on.

Speaking of people who rely to heavily on Jason: Carly and Sonny. This is the stuff of great soap operas. I swear the two of them make you want to shake and then hug them. Sonny actually offers Carly an annulment. She vehemently protests, but instead of saying, "I love you." She says "I got you into this mess." Alexis arrives to tell them there is no way in for an annulment unless Sonny wants to go to jail. Sonny asks Alexis to secure the earliest trial date so Carly "can be with a man she loves." The two of them are so frustratingly endearing. They are terrified to admit weakness to a person who is quite capable of ripping them to shreds, but they can’t bear to see the other unhappy. Sigh.

Well that’s all that really happened today that was really noteworthy.
