Pretty interesting episode today. IMO, any show with Jason on it is worth watching!

Emily and Zander shared stories of their respective families, and Emily said how surprised she was over how much she misses hers despite their craziness. Zander told her it wouldn’t be too long now before she’s reunited with the Qs. He just needs to get across the Canadian border and then she can go. They certainly don’t have a typical kidnapper-hostage relationship.

Nikolas brought Gia to GH to see her mom. Shortly before their arrival, Taggert threw AJ into a wall (and threw his flowers all over) and then told a security guard to show AJ the exit. AJ wasted his time throwing around the Quartermaine name, but his protests didn’t impress the security guard. Gia helped Hannah convince Taggert that he needed to get some rest, so he left. Gia’s mom told her she should be at Columbia. Gia said she was doing very well at school and was third in her class the previous term. Her mom’s response was that first in the class would have been better.

Lucky and Liz finally figured out that first Faison and now Helena had him under mind control and that the trigger for his “spacing out” is the phrase “protect your queen.” He gave credit to Luke for first suspecting it and then expressed worry about how to overcome it since the person who started it (Faison) is dead. Liz assured him that they would fight Helena together. They left for Albany to search for Emily at the show’s end.

An anxious Helena instructed a wild-haired Andreas that his sole job now is to keep tabs on “the Webber girl” at all times. She said that her plan of many years to ruin Luke and Laura is close to being fulfilled – and there’s no way Elizabeth will interfere with it. If necessary, Helena threatened, Elizabeth will be eliminated.

Luke was his usual charming self when Scott tried to discuss being his attorney. Scott admitted that he agreed to take Luke’s case a few months ago when Laura requested it of him. Luke seemed quite jealous and told Scott that he wouldn’t accept Scott’s help, because he wasn’t going to be a pawn in some plan Scott may have to win Laura back. Scott warned Luke that the case against him looks very bad, particularly due to his jailbreak, but Luke wasn’t willing to listen. Later Bobbie stopped by the jail to visit her brother and saw Scott first. Scott told her she needed to persuade her idiotic brother that he has no chance of avoiding “25+ years in Sing-Sing” if he tries to defend himself. While Bobbie and Luke were talking, she showed him recent photos of Lulu and Lucky and then urged him to accept Scott’s help out of love for his children. He accused her of playing dirty but did seem to consider her advice.

Jason went to the country store where Zander had earlier bought the candy and other things for Emily. After seeing the pixie sticks, Jason showed the store clerk a picture of Emily (and one of Zander, I believe) and asked if either of them had been there. The man said that Zander had been there just a bit earlier, but he had no idea where he went after leaving the store. Jason suddenly realized that two of Sorel’s men were about to enter the store, so he paid the clerk not to say that he was there, or that Zander had been there, and then he hid in the back of the store. Claiming to be investigators hired by the Quartermaines, the men questioned the clerk about Zander and Emily. The clerk lied as Jason had requested, but unfortunately, another customer walked in as Zander’s picture was still out and told the men he had seen a young couple matching their description at a barn (I couldn't figure out if it was his barn). He gave directions to it. The men took off, soon followed by Jason, who purchased lighter fluid and two identical objects (that I couldn’t identify) with which to start a fire.

Emily began a letter to Alan and Monica in the notebook Zander bought her. Then they both fell asleep. Zander woke up when he heard Sorel’s men outside the barn. He quickly woke Emily, and the pair ran to a back corner of the barn, hiding behind haystacks. Zander pulled out his gun and told Emily that when he started shooting, she was to run into the woods. Right when one of the guys was about to walk down the path leading to Zander and Em’s hiding spot, a burst of flames lit the night sky. Both thugs ran out of the barn to see that their car was a ball of fire. That gave Emily and Zander the chance to sneak out of the barn – but not with any of their possessions. Jason entered the barn, evidently after Sorel’s men were gone, and found Emily’s letter. He looked relieved that she was alive and apparently OK.

And finally, the newlyweds, Sonny and Carly, shared a romantic dinner, although Carly did admit that she can’t stand the taste, sight, smell, texture, etc., of any kind of seafood. (She had ordered two complete lobster dinners to surprise Sonny.) Sonny kindly made her what he called the “world’s greatest burger.” Later they danced very closely and kissed passionately. When Carly realized that Sonny wanted to make love, she pulled back and told him she wasn’t sure if they should be lovers again. At the show’s end, a wistful Sonny held Carly’s champagne glass and stared longingly into the empty living room, while a sleepless Carly tossed and turned alone in her bed.

Key previews for tomorrow's show: Someone tells Sonny that Mike's $10,000 in debt again, and Mike tells Carly how much she means to Sonny.
