General Hospital Update for Friday, 18-Aug-2000

Sonny sends for Mike then places him under "house arrest" until Sonny's meeting with Sorel is over.

Carly "Babes" is all dressed up (obviously trying to win the "Sleeziest hooker of the year!") and about to leave for the motel where Sonny is meeting Sorel. But, alas, poor (in his dreams...LOL) ole' AJ shows up with attorney in tow! He threatens to take Michael away, makes fun of "Carly Babes" clothing and says that he hopes she dresses that way for court. Carly pretends to call the cops to have AJ arrested for Breaking and Entering, Harrassment, etc. and his attorney suggests that they leave. As soon as AJ is out the front door Carly grabs her purse and heads out the backdoor.

Carly arrives at the motel and cons one of the maids into letting her into the room before Sorel or Sonny arrive. She tapes a small tape recorder to the bottom of a table then hides in the closet, waiting for Sorel and (she thinks) Mike to arrive.

Meanwhile, Lucky, Emily, and Elizabeth have the L&L are "just friends" talk for the one millonth time. Liz storms upstairs to get ready for the rave and Emily tears into Lucky for lying to Elizabeth about his feelings and his memory! Lucky tells Emily that if she can't keep a secret then he'll figure out his memory problem without her help so she agrees to "lie to her best friend" for Lucky's sake.

Liz comes back downstairs and is looking hot! Lucky suggests that it might be too dangerous for Liz to go to the rave and that perhaps she should remain at Kelly's with Emily! Elizabeth is emphatic that she is in this for the long haul and that Lucky does not have the right to tell her what to do anymore! Juan offers to remain behind with Emily if it's okay with "Mr. Wonderful" (as he glares at Lucky)! So, Nicolas, Liz, and Lucky leave for the rave. Juan stays behind with Emily, but she is not a happy camper about his remark to Lucky, nor his running to tell Elizabeth that he caught Lucky and Emily holding each other! (Bet Juan wishes he'd have gone to the rave...)

When the threesome arrive at the rave Lucky grabs Liz by the arm and warns her to be careful. She pulls away and says, "Don't tell me what to do!" and goes inside, leaving Nic and Lucky standing there alone. She spots Zander and makes her way over to him. They begin flirting and he offers her a drink.... (will she drink it?)..... (is it spiked with some drug?).... tune in Monday to find out!

Chloe and Jax discuss the woman that he saw in the garden and his overwhelming desire for the woman to somehow be Brenda, alive and well and living on an island in the South Pacific! Chloe realizes that Brenda is not in the past, but in the present, and she tells Jax that she can fight Helena, her illness, his corporate raid on her family, but that she cannot fight a ghost! Chloe tells Jax to go look for Brenda so that he can get on with their lives together. Jax asks Chloe if she'll be there when he gets back and she tells him she will. (What a gal, eh!) Later, as Chloe naps she sees (in black and white) thru Helena's eyes that Helena has entered the suite that Jax and Chloe are staying in. Then we switch back to color and a view of the room where indeed Helena, dressed in a black shroud, locks the door to the room, walks over to where Chloe is sleeping, and as she looks down at her, Helena smiles and pulls out the gold handled knife from it's case.....

Jax is walking in the garden and spots the "Brenda look-alike" strolling through the garden. As he starts to follow her, he hears Chloe scream out for him from their suite..... (will he follow "Brenda" or run to Chloe's rescue?????)

Ned, aka: Eddie Maine, gives an interview to a writer for a music magazine. They discuss Lois and how it was actually Lois that "created" Eddie Maine. Then the writer asks about the "mystery woman" that is all over the internet and on posters in every bar from coast to coast. Ned asks her what she means and the writer points over Ned's shoulder. Ned turns around to see a poster of Alexis in her sexie attire, rose between her teeth and poised on his bed, that the reporter had seen when doing his piece on "A Day in the Life of Eddie Maine!" The caption reads "Eddie's Angel"! Ned is shocked and realizes that Alexis will NOT be happy about her new found "publicity".

Back at the motel, Carly has the tape recorder in place and hears Sorel coming. She hides in the closet then suddenly realizes that she left the light on and her purse on the bed. She hurries to remedy the situation and gets back in the closet just as Sorel and one of his henchmen enter the motel room (whew... that was a close one!). Sorel takes off his coat and tells his man to hang it up. Carly panicks and holds the doorknob to the closet so that Sorel's man cannot open the door. He returns to his boss to inform him that the closet door is broke and asks Sorel if he should kick the door in (some of these "thugs" have less brains than the doorknobs they can't open..LOL). Sorel grumbles about cheap motels and that the noise of breaking in the closet door would bring every cop around, then tells him to just hang it over the chair. (whew, thought "Carly Babes" was history for a minute there....)

Carly relaxes until she hears a knock at the motel room door and hears Sonny's voice, instead of Mike's, when he enters the room. Another fine mess she has gotten herself into....

Taggert and Hannah are standing outside of Kelly's when Taggert tells Hannah about the "anonymous" phone tip they received about the Sorel meeting! (Thank you, Carly) He asks Hannah to go along but she insists they get a warrant first so that everything is "by the book". Taggert leaves to get a judge to sign off on the warrant and who should appear but AJ.... Hannah is getting bored with AJ and his drunken antics and lets him know it. Hannah defends Taggert as an honorable man that works hard for a living and puts his life on the line everyday. She then calls AJ a "bored, rich, deletant!" AJ responds by saying, "Ouch, don't you think the deletant thing is a little over the top!" (Is he really too far gone to even recognize an insult when he gets one?) Hannah just rolls her eyes and walks away. AJ smiles... (why is anyone's guess!)

Meanwhile, back at the motel, Sorel tells Sonny that Mike Corbin owes him and the debt cannot be paid with money. Sorel says that he wants Sonny to use his transportation network to move Sorel's drugs from Cleveland to the Bahamas (correct me if I am wrong, but don't people usually try to move drugs IN to the country, rather than OUT....) Before Sonny can answer Carly bursts out of the closet and says, "Sonny, don't say a word! The tape is rolling and the cops are on the way!" Sorel and his oh so intelligent henchman run out of the room, but reappear as just then Hannah and Taggert bust into the room, guns drawn and pointed at Sonny and Carly....

Guess we'll have to wait until Monday to see if Taggert and Hannah can resist the urge to shoot their arch enemies Sonny and Carly..... have a nice weekend:)
