Wednesday's episode dealt with a lot of character building and revelations than action. No Chloe and Jax, no Helena and her dagger, no Stefan and his antics.

Bobbie and Carly had about their 3,000th fight about when Carly would move out of the brownstone. Bobbie made it clear to Carly that she doesn't approve of Carly's scheme to make it look as though she's really trying to buy a house with the $40,000 Sonny gave her. Carly told Bobbie that she's not moving back in with Sonny until he expresses his desire for her to live with him. In the meantime, Sonny doesn't want to push Carly, so he's been patronizing her "search" for a house. Bobbie and Carly also exchanged words over Hannah; Bobbie said she resents the fact that Carly puts down Hannah. Carly countered with -- basically the truth -- that what Hannah did to Sonny makes her a snake. She then went on to say that AJ and Hannah are a perfect couple and she hopes they end up wrapped around a tree in a car accident.

Mike surprised Sonny by showing up unannounced at the Penthouse with danish for breakfast. Sonny seemed pleased to see him and ended up making a real breakfast for his dad. While they ate, Mike told Sonny how much he regrets the past mistakes he's made. He also defended Carly -- which surprised Sonny. He never mentioned the $40,000 gambling debt Sorel is pressuring him to pay up.

Lucky and Emily bonded in the boxcar, talking about what could possibly have happened to Lucky's memory while he was held captive. Lucky expressed his total frustration that he cannot remember large pieces of that year of his life. Emily vowed to stay with Lucky until he figures out what's going on. In return, he made her promise not to tell anyone else. He said he didn't want to be viewed as "poor Lucky who lost his memory." Emily had a hard time agreeing to Lucky's stipulation.

Liz showed up at the boxcar while Lucky and Em were there. Lucky immediately shut Liz out and pretended that he and Em were reminiscing about things that had happened several years ago. Liz felt left out and didn't stay long.

Nik arranged with Gia's employer for her to take a break and meet him at Kelly's. Naturally, she acted as sullen as ever -- until she heard that an undercover cop had been murdered and that she had hung out with the possible murderer at the rave. Emily arrived just as Gia was emphatically stating that she wants nothing to do with them. Just then Taggert walked into the diner; Gia immediately began to kiss Nikolas passionately but stopped the minute she realized Taggert couldn't see her. She then quickly left the diner. Liz and Nik laughed about the kiss and wondered what it meant.

AJ continued his hot pursuit of Hannah. He was seated in the diner when she came down from her room. He went into this long spiel about how much one breakfast would mean to him. (He compared it to winning the lotto.) Hannah finally agreed to have breakfast with AJ as long as AJ understood it was a one-time deal.

Elsewhere, Mac was in the diner in Colorado to say good-bye to Maxie, who arrived with suitcase in tow because she planned to return to PC with him. After a long talk about bad dreams, anxiety that Felicia will just take off again, and so on, Mac was able to convince Maxie to remain with Felicia through the end of the summer.

Finally, Carly called Mike to tell him she got the $40,000 and that she'd give him a call the next day to make drop-off arrangements. At the same time, Sonny returned home to find Sorel waiting outside his door. Sorel filled in Sonny about Mike's debt (but didn't reveal the amount) and offered two scenarios to resolve the problem: either Sonny makes a deal with Sorel or Mike dies. Sonny angrily warned Sorel not to harm Mike or he'll live to regret it. A smug Sorel left, while a devastated Sonny went into his home and threw a couple of folders and a chair.
