General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 8-Aug-2000

Things are getting pretty desperate for Mike, as Sorel's increasing the pressure for him to come up with the money for the gambling debt. Mike asked Tammy to run away with him, but she said she couldn't, as her life is now in Port Charles. Mike was angry with Roy when Roy wouldn't give him the $10,000 he won gambling. Mike insisted he could "play the cards right" and turn that money into thousands more. Roy told Mike he'd already had his chance at gambling.

Bobbie was with Roy when Sorel arrived to tell Roy that only Sonny can pay off Mike's $40,000 debt. Bobbie lost it, reminding Roy of what Sorel had put them through when she was kidnapped. Roy asked her to leave.

Lucky followed Gia home and surprised her by climbing in her bedroom window. He asked for her help in finding the murderer. She refused and kicked him out. Later Nik thought of Sherry, the groupie Juan had kissed several weeks ago, and wondered if she could go to Friday's rave with them and possibly spot a guy connected to Ted. Emily wasn't thrilled, but agreed to the plan.

AJ was stumbling around the park, drinking from his silver flask when he was mugged. Of course, it didn't help that he was hiding behind bushes, spying on Hannah and Taggert. Hannah found him and tried to get him agree to get medical help. He refused but did agree to her escorting him back to his hotel room. While they were talking there, AJ suddenly began kissing Hannah, who surprisingly went along with the kiss.

Finally, over at GH, Helena made her move to secure her power over Cassadine family investments. She did her best to charm Edward. Alexis arrived and announced that Helena would have no legal control over the estate because it was just a matter of days until a judge named Alexis trustee of the estate. Helena announced that no judge would grant Alexis the trusteeship once the news of her living across the hall from Sonny came out. Edward and Alan both reacted very negatively to that news, claiming that Alexis would be influenced by Sonny. Later, Alexis cried on Ned's shoulder and asked him if she should move out of Jason's penthouse. Ned reassured her she had done the right thing even if he didn't like it very much.
