General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 2-Aug-2000

Today’s show was mostly filler... nothing major happened. Stefan starts off the show by giving some unknown doctor one of Chloe’s pills. He tells the doctor to make a placebo that looks just like it, tastes like it, even smells like it. Later on he tells someone over the phone to find out where she keeps her pills so that when the placebo’s are ready he can replace them, thus stopping her treatment so he can continue using her as an insight into Helena’s mind.

Alexis is moving into her new apartment (Jason’s) with the help of Sonny and his men. Ned walks in to find her making a toast with Sonny. Ned is fit to be tied. He and Alexis get into a big argument over why she is moving in. Ned says she is doing it just to spite him. Alexis says that he has his own career and just because she can’t just run off to wherever with him doesn’t mean she has to stay wherever he tells her to. She tells him he has to respect her more. They yell and scream at each other and Ned storms out. Alexis throws her purse at the door and breaks her cell phone by accident. Sonny comes over to find out if she is ok and Alexis, who is drunk off of champagne by this point starts accusing Sonny of trying to make her part of the organization. She says he wants to isolate her from her clients in order to make her apart of his outfit, which was exactly what Ned said when they argued. Ned was afraid she would ruin her reputation by living next to Sonny. Sonny tells her he has absolutely no such intentions.

Ned runs off to Chloe and Jax who are on their way out to go sailing. Ned tells them what happened and Jax says he will go and straighten out Alexis, after all they were married, Alexis might listen to him. He tells Ned that telling Alexis what to do was Ned’s mistake. Ned and Chloe discuss how it is their anniversary. Ned tries to convince Chloe that they should still be married. They were all happier when they were married. Chloe reminds him that he loves Alexis. Ned starts talking about how much he loves Alexis. In the meantime Jax is telling Alexis she made her point, she rattled Ned, now it is time to move home. Sonny tells her that if she wants, she can tear up the lease and leave. After Sonny is gone Jax tells Alexis to call Ned and tell him how much she loves him. She shows him her broken phone. While he is looking at it, she passes out.

Liz and Emily decide to go shopping. Emily is going insane thinking about the blackmailer. Liz has some stuff to finish though. She tells Emily to go listen to Juan sing their song while she is waiting. They discuss how Emily can’t let Juan go but she also can’t be with him. Liz knows the feeling, this is what Lucky is doing to her. Emily misses Juan though. They discuss how Lucky questioned Liz about Jason. Em tells Liz not to give up on Lucky, Liz tells Emily not to give up on Juan. Emily goes and listens to Juan sing with out him knowing she is there. The song touches her and she remembers all the fun she had with Juan. Nick and Lucky show up and tell Liz of Lucky’s plan to dress like a census taker and get info from the blackmailer’s family. Liz and Nick say it won’t work cause she knows what Lucky looks like. Liz offers to do it. Emily and Liz convince the boys to let Liz do it. Em, Nick and Lucky go shopping to get an outfit for Liz. They dress her up like a census taker and plan to go to the family.

Monica tells Alan, Edward and Lila how great her fertility doctor is. She is all a glow. Edward tries to convince Alan and Monica not to have any more offspring. AJ is bad enough. He also makes a comment about how the thinks Alan must be sterile if they need a fertility doctor. Lila makes Edward take her out of the room before he says anything else upsetting. Alan is obviously upset. Monica tells him not to let Edward get to him. Tony walks in just as Monica is leaving. Tony comments to Alan about how happy Monica looks. Alan says she always does right before she has an affair. He is convinced that Monica is a little too happy about her new doctor. The two discuss how messed up Monica and Alan’s marriage is. Later on when Monica comes home Alan tries to convince her maybe getting pregnant is not such a good idea, he doesn’t want to lose her. She assures him he never will.
