General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 18-Jul-2000

Bobbie and Roy return from Hawaii.

AJ shows up at the Brownstone and Carly tells him to leave but he gloats as he informs her that now that Sonny is finished with her, he is going to take her to court to try and regain custody of Michael. She tells AJ that Sonny will never let Michael near the man that killed Michael's little brother! A bodyguard appears and Carly informs AJ that she and her son are still under Sonny's protection. AJ is "escorted" out by the bodyguard. (this one is named Rick, but is still a mute at this point………LOL).

Carly calls the penthouse and gets Sonny's answering machine. She leaves a message telling him that AJ showed up and the bodyguard made him leave. Then Carly pauses as if she wants to tell him something more, but finally just says, "Thank you for taking care of us." She hangs up the phone slowly, and it is obvious that she was disappointed at talking to the machine instead of Sonny. Carly misses Sonny and living at the penthouse, but her pride will not let her admit it! (those are the times that you just want to scream at the tv for her to just spill her guts about her real feelings…).

Later, Bobbie and Carly have a heart to heart about why Carly left Sonny. (Carly's version...) Carly tells Bobbie the story about over-hearing Sonny and Benny's conversation on the island and realizing that she is just an obligation to Sonny and nothing more. She also tells Bobbie that Liz Webber is trying to move in on Sonny now, just like she did on Jason last winter! (Bobbie's version…) Bobbie reminds Carly of the way that Carly acts when she is feeling threatened, like what she did the night she saw Liz and Jason at Kelly's dancing and went and had sex with Sonny to get back at Jason! Bobbie then asks Carly what desperate or foolish move she is planning to make over this Liz and Sonny thing. Then, Bobbie drops the bomb and tells Carly that she can self-destruct if she wants to, but NOT at the Brownstone! Bobbie suggests that Carly and Michael go back to Sonny. Carly gets upset and asks Bobbie why Bobbie is never on HER side? Carly tells Bobbie that she and Michael will find somewhere to live and will leave tomorrow and storms off to bed! (Mothers and daughters …. One of life's MOST complicated relationships! JMHO)

Emily has it out with Juan and they "officially" break up. Liz and Lucky are "officially" over but will be friends. Emily and Liz console each other. Meanwhile at Kelly's, Lucky is still trying to get Nik to go for Liz when Juan storms in and tells Lucky that Emily is all his now! Lucky tells Nik what a jerk Juan is being to give up such a wonderful girl and Nik tells Lucky that he is doing the same thing to Liz! (Wow, what an epiphany………LOL)

Stephan is very busy for a dead guy and ponders Helena's motives for her interest in Chloe. He decides that Chloe has something that Helena either WANTS or NEEDS but has no idea what. (Could it be Jax……….???????????)

The gathering on Helena's yacht comes to a close, but not before Alexis, in rare form (a bit tipsy) accuses Helena of killing her brother right in the very room that they are all standing in. As Audrey, the Q's, Jax and Chloe look on, Alexis describes in exact detail (as told to her by Chloe when she gave Alexis the vivid details of her dream) the way that Stephan "died" from poisoned wine that his own mother had given him. Helena glares at Alexis as Audrey and the Q's say farewell and thanx for a wonderful evening (gag me, please) but Jax and Chloe stay put. Later Alexis and Helena are seated and Jax and Chloe are standing near the music box on the shelf. Helena curtly tells Alexis, "I don't take kindly to false accusations of murder!" (I guess Helena just has no sense of humor…LOL) Alexis retorts, "You're making threats in front of witnesses now? You're slipping!" Then, Alexis stands, turns and throws her empty glass at the wall. After it shatters she strolls over to Jax and Chloe and says she is leaving now, turning down their offer to escort her home, and says that she needs to be alone right now. (Poor Alexis, first her mother and now her brother! How can she even be in the same COUNTRY as Helena without killing her, let alone the same room!)

Helena then turns her attention to Jax and Chloe. Chloe tells Helena that she thinks the music box is exquisite and she has always loved the melody to "Sleeping Beauty". Helena informs Chloe that the music box did indeed play that melody originally, however, the box was dropped 20 years ago and has not played a note since then. So, how could Chloe possibly have known WHAT melody the music box used to play? (HHHHHhhhhhmmm…. Kind of makes one wonder doesn't it!) Jax quickly makes up some lame cover story about them seeing a similar music box that played the "Sleeping Beauty" melody at a museum when he and Chloe were in St. Petersburg, Russia. Helena informs them though that the music box is one of a kind and there is not another one in the world that is identical! (So much for getting out of that one...)

Finally alone, Helena begins to wonder about how Alexis knew the details of Stephan's "death" and Chloe knew about the "Sleeping Beauty" melody. She must get to the bottom of this………..
