General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 12-Jul-2000

Monica found out she's not pregnant after all. Of course, she and Alan had spread the "good news" to Lila before getting the test results. Alan tried to persuade Monica that they should now try to conceive, but she cited her breast cancer and their age as reasons not to.

The mysterious woman called Emily at the Diner again, this time demanding $5000 to keep quiet. Emily and Liz were not handling the bribery demand well until Lucky pointed out that the lady has to be an amateur since she requested so little money. Later, when Liz told Nikolas of the latest demand, he also said they're dealing with an amateur. There was some discussion that the four should go to Sonny for help, but the idea was dismissed because of Sonny's relationship with Juan. Emily believes that Sonny would cut off the financial support he's been providing for Juan's "career." The foursome agreed to keep Juan in the dark.

Roy and Bobbie frolicked in Hawaii. Bobbie mentioned an evening cruise she wanted to take. Roy realized that his financial situation isn't what Bobbie's used to -- as he pointed out to her, Jerry Jacks was quite wealthy. She said she didn't need "things," just him. Nevertheless, he secretly called Mike at Luke's club to ask him to wire $3000 to Hawaii as a loan. Then he told Bobbie they were going on the dinner cruise.

AJ followed Hannah to a crime scene and acted like he was a real detective. He continued to press her for a date, which she continued to refuse. He did give her a good tip on a possible way to solve the crime. When Hannah met up with Taggert later, she talked about the investigation but failed to mention that AJ had spent the day with her.

Ned announced to Alexis that he's going to return to touring as Eddie Maine; she celebrated by trying to barbecue burgers for the two of them outside the gatehouse. Somehow, not too surprisingly, the burgers caught on fire and the smoke attracted the busybody Edward, who told them what he thought of Ned's plans.

Lucky escorted Emily home. They hugged -- just as Juan arrived, so he witnessed the hug, misinterpreted it of course, and left. Earlier in the show he attempted to fend off the advances of the girl he entertained at the rave; he told her he has a girlfriend, but she pointed out that his girlfriend didn't seem to be around.
