General Hospital Update for Thursday, 6-Jul-2000

Emily and Liz went to the Health Center. Liz was exactly what Emily needed - an incredible and strong friend. (Em used her mother's name to register.)

While Em was being examined, Laura showed up (to do recruitment for her invisible job) and found Liz in the waiting room. Liz told her that she was there to see about volunteering. Emily walked into the waiting room, but managed to slip by before Laura saw her. The nurse was very cool and went along with Liz's story.

Em was elated to learn that she did not have sex with Ted. Em and Liz went to the diner where they hooked up with Lucky and Nicolas.

Laura ended up counseling another young girl who was raped by her boyfriend's friend. The girl expressed her disdain for her boyfriend's touch and how she can't bring herself to make her forget the experience. Laura flashbacked to her and Scotty!

We saw a beautiful very young, very blond Laura telling Scotty that she can't stand to touch him and that he can't understand.

Taggert stopped by L&B's and Juan told him the rave story. Taggert advised him to trust that his love with Elizabeth was strong enough to get them through this. (I wonder why they couldn't talk in their own living room, which we've never seen.)

Juan came to Kelly's and tried to talk to Em who told him to leave. Lucky stepped in and said, "let it go." Juan asked Em if that is really what she wants and she said yes. Her attitude though was distracted with Ted the dead, her recent exam and all of the secrets she's keeping. I think she meant, "I can't deal with you right now."

Nic and Lucky talked stupidly about Ted the dead.
Lucky tried to coax Nic into burying the body on and building a stable or something on top. Nic they'll have to come up with another plan to move the body. Their interaction at moments was funny.

The teens continued to justify their actions by presuming that Ted must have been a worthless jerk. They jumped to the ridiculous conclusion that his friends are probably sleaze who won't care if he's missing. The Luck and Liz I remember had functional sometimes even clever brains. There are too many holes in this story.

Sonny and Carly shared their last day on the island. Carly is being melodramic and treating the time like it's the last of "S&C." Sonny offered to stay longer, but Carly declined.

The tone of their interactions was sincere and playful. It's still very strange to see them kiss, but I'm starting to stomach them as a couple because they seem like friends.

Alexis went to the yacht to pry about Helena's plans for Jax. Helena of course was full of witty comebacks for Alexis' threats. Alexis is trying to tie up Helena's Cassidine money to protect Nicolas and to get the drug company.
Helena waved her away like a nat.

Tony confirmed that the medication Helena provided is authentic, but not easily replicable. Tony wisely said to Jax that he couldn’t imagine what she' s making him do to get the medication.

At L&B, Chloe told Jax that she was whisking him away to New York for the weekend. Helena called L&B to speak to Jax and toyed with clueless Chloe. Chloe huffed and puffed and gave the phone to Jax who listened to Helena express her titillation about tomorrow's events. Jax played along saying ambiguous responses that made it sound to Chloe that he was turning down Helena. Jax told Chloe he could not cancel his meeting because it was about getting the alternative medication Chloe needs. Jax in a rare moment was beleivable.
