General Hospital Update for Friday, 14-Apr-2000

Big apologies to my fellow GH fans for the lateness of this update. (I had minor surgery.)

Friday's episode featured several "near misses" with Carly and Sonny, Rae Cummings and her Bible, and Lucky and Laura.

A determined Bobbie argued with Carly when Carly arrived at Kelly's to announce she's moving in with Bobbie. Bobbie told her that she's focused on getting Roy out of prison now and that it's Carly's fault he's back there. Carly accused Bobbie of not caring; Bobbie told her that she and Michael are well taken care of at Sonny's and that she belongs there.

Carly later stormed back to Sonny's and lied that Bobbie was taking her in. Sonny knew it was a bluff, since Bobbie had already been to see him about Roy. Sonny promised Bobbie he'd do what he could to help Roy. So when Carly lied about moving in with Bobbie, Sonny called her on it. She screamed for Leticia to get her and Michael's things packed; Sonny calmly asked Leticia who pays her salary. Then he told Leticia to take the rest of the afternoon off. Leticia left despite Carly's plea for help packing.

Carly did pack a few bags, threw one down the stairs, put Michael in his stroller, and told him to say good-bye to Uncle Sonny. She loaded everything into the elevator but didn't leave right away. She looked around expectantly, hoping that Sonny would come to stop her. She should have waited a few more seconds, because as soon as the elevator doors closed, Sonny came out looking for her.

Meanwhile, Liz and Nikolas continued their search for clues about Lucky in British Columbia. The waitress who befriended Lucky told them what she knew. Liz seemed a bit jealous. After realizing that Lucky wasn't in the area, Liz and Nikolas decided to go to New York City, since it had been Liz and Lucky's dream to live there.

Of course, they're not going to find Lucky there, because he's still spying on people in Port Charles. He lurked in Laura's shrubs and witnessed the loving good-bye Laura gave Lulu before embarking on another search to find Lucky.
Later Lesley and Lulu were playing catch, and the ball just happened to land near the bushes where Lucky was hiding. Lulu trotted over to get the ball and instead found her brother. Upon seeing him she said, "Lucky, you came back from Heaven."
(That was the final scene of Friday's show.)

A few other details ... Rae and Tony went to GH to visit the man who'd sold Carly the desk. Earlier in the day Amy had offered him a selection of books to read. He chose a biography and a Bible. When Rae and Tony were in his room, the Bible was right near them on the man's bedside table. Of course, Rae has no idea what the Bible she's searching for looks like, so she couldn't have known that it was right by her. Also, Sonny arranged for protection for Roy while he's in the slammer. And Bobbie met with a worried Hannah, who couldn't understand why she hadn't heard from or seen Roy. Bobbie told her Roy was sent to prison; Hannah exclaimed that wasn't possible; and then Bobbie told her something like, "There's something you need to know about your father." Finally, Mac and Felicia argued about her "affair" with Luke. She told him they needed to leave immediately for Texas to straighten things out with the girls. He told her she had to go alone. He made it clear things are over between them and commented that he wasn't sure he ever knew her.
