General Hospital Update for Thursday, 17-Feb-2000

Sorry for the late posting of this update . . . minor surgery yesterday. Thursday's GH was pretty good, especially considering that the "main" characters (such as Sonny and Carly) weren't on.
We even got a crossover from Port Charles, as Kevin came over to console Mac, who's finally catching on to Felicia and Luke.

Speaking of that pair, they were in a Swiss hotel. They had gone to a bank and somehow finagled the bank's security code so that Luke was able to break into the bank's records and find out where Stefan had been transferring his money. Felicia decided to call home. Shortly before she called, however, Laura was at the Scorpio residence to pick up Lulu from her play date with Georgie. Laura and Mac discussed the coincidental disappearance of Luke and Felicia. So by the time Felicia made her call home, Mac was angry enough to confront her. He told her he knew she was with Luke. She said she couldn't explain anything now. He demanded that she return home. She refused, of course, which enraged Mac, who ended up hanging up on her.

Luke observed the phone call and then gallantly offered Felicia her way out. She didn't want to leave him, naturally. She explained to him that if she went home now, she'd have to lie to Mac, since she couldn't tell him about Lucky. And she just couldn't lie to Mac, because what would that say about their marriage?! (Yes, that line was a bit ridiculous!) So she assured Luke that when they returned home with Lucky, Mac would understand everything.

Meanwhile, Mac called over Kevin for advice. He ended up upset with Kevin, whom he believed was taking Felicia's side. Kevin's views about the situation changed, though, once Mac told him about the videotape Faison had sent -- Mac still believes that Luke and Felicia are actually making love on the tape. Mac told Kevin how many chances he had given Felicia to admit to her affair with Luke.

Over at the hospital, a determined Chloe decided it was time to go home. Tony gave her the okay to leave and explained that she'll need occupational therapy to learn how to function at home now that she's blind. She broke down upon hearing that news but got comfort in Jax's arms. Gertrude was lurking in the hallways, but Amy fortunately appeared at just the right time and prevented her from entering the room and seeing Jax and Chloe together. Ned and Jax escorted Chloe out via wheelchair at the show's end.

Before showing up to see his "wife," Ned had an interesting meeting with Edward at the PC Grille. Edward informed him of the true parentage of Carly's baby and told him he needed to help the family against Sonny. Just then AJ arrived by their table and thus overheard Edward's plea for help from Ned. After Edward left, Ned and AJ briefly discussed the situation. AJ told Ned of his plan to raise the baby as a Q. Ned then told him, rather cruelly in my opinion, that doing so would "drive him to drink" and then got up and left. A lonely AJ then ordered a club soda.

Other news included Ned's agreement to hire Nikolas at L & B, Nikolas and Stefan's disagreement over the job at L & B, Laura's pride over the job at L & B, and Nikolas's casual mentioning of Stefan's business trip to Nova Scotia, where Lucky's being held. Stefan visited Laura before leaving for Canada; he asked her if she had given any thought to the dream house he plans to build for her. She replied that she hadn't thought of anything else. That seemed a bit incongruent with her wistful remarks about Luke when she was at Mac's. In any event, Laura's knowledge of Stefan's destination proved very useful: Luke couldn't figure out the maze of money transfers from Stefan's account, so he called Laura and asked if she knew of any trips Stefan had just taken or was about to take. She reluctantly told him about Nova Scotia, giving him the key to Lucky's whereabouts. Lucky may not be there much longer, though -- Helena expressed her dismay over Stefan's confidence and wondered to Andreas if perhaps Stefan knows about Lucky. She hinted that a change may be necessary.
