General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 1-Feb-2000

I. The Spencers
Laura is at home pacing. Leslie comes downstairs and asks if Laura should be getting ready for bed. Laura tells Leslie that she found out that Luke had been kidnapped with Felicia by Faison. She didn’t expect to be cut out of his life entirely.

Luke and Felicia are still trying to figure out why Faison told him Lucky is still alive. Their conversation keeps leading them back to Helena. Luke decides to investigate Helena’s movements since the fire. Luke again tells Felicia that he doesn’t want Mac to know about what happened with Faison.

Leslie asks if Laura is upset because Luke was kidnapped or because it involved another woman. Laura says she is upset about both. Leslie points out that Laura is seeing someone else. Laura says she knows that what she feels is not fair, but Luke is a hard many to walk away from. She tells Leslie that the last year of their marriage was hard, but things seemed to get better when Lucky forgave them. She thinks they might have found their way back to each other if Lucky were still alive. Leslie makes Laura some chamomile tea to help her sleep and reminds Laura that she cannot change the past. Lucky is dead and she can’t bring him back. Leslie tells Laura she can change anything else if she wants it badly enough. The problem is that Laura doesn’t know what she wants. Leslie goes up to bed and there is a knock at the door. It's Stefan; he needed to see her before he left town.

Felicia tries to convince Luke that Mac will understand about the search for Lucky. Luke explains again why he does not want to tell Mac. Felicia agrees to keep it from Mac. There’s a knock at the door and Mac lets himself in. He has come to tell Felicia about Chloe. They leave for the hospital.

Stefan tells Laura that Helena is leaving the country and he intends to follow her to find her link to Faison. Laura tells Stefan to be careful. They kiss and he leaves as Luke arrives. Luke has come to see Lulu, but did not realize how late it was. He wants to go sit by her bed. Laura asks if everything is okay and Luke says he’s working on it. Laura correctly guesses that he is leaving town again. Laura tries to ask about his trip; he does not answer and goes up to see Lulu. He comes back down and they talk for a while before he leaves.

Helena has arrived at the safe house. The guard tells her Lucky has stopped trying to escape; she tells him not to let his guard down. Lucky is sleeping so she just looks through the window commenting that they will be spending time together soon enough.

II. The Jaxtons
Ned and Alexis are preparing to make love while Jax is with Chloe at the hospital. Monica wants to know if Jax has reached Ned. He has not. Monica tells Jax how serious Chloe’s injuries are. She will be going into surgery soon. Tony lets Jax go sit with her. Jax makes his standard “don’t leave me” speech. Chloe is taken into surgery. Jax calls Alexis’s cell phone. Alexis answers and he tells her what happened.

Ned and Alexis arrive at the hospital. Jax tells them about her injuries and that she is in surgery. They ask and he tells them what happened. Dara and Taggart arrive and tell Ned they have no leads, but think it might have been intentional. They ask if Ned knows anyone who might have wanted to kill Chloe. Alexis tries not to look agonized. Dara and Taggart tell them that there’s not much evidence. Dar and Taggart begin questioning Ned about whether Chloe want supposed to meet anyone that night. Alexis tries to get Dara and Taggart to back off. Ned finally gets them to leave. Alexis wonders if the hit and run was really meant for her. Chloe was dressed like her after all. She tells the guys how she has provoked Helena. Ned and Jax try to tell her not to feel guilty.

Monica arrives to tell them the surgery went well.

Alexis and Jax peer at Chloe through the glass wall of her room. Ned comes in and says he saw Felicia downstairs but sent her home. The nurse says they can see Chloe. Ned gestures for Jax to go first. He again makes the “don’t leave me” speech.


III. Carly’s Mess
Bobbie struggles to understand how Carly could be pregnant by Sonny. She wants to know why Carly slept with him. At first, Carly blames Sonny – he did it to ruin her relationship with Jason. Bobbie reminds her that it takes two to tango. Carly tells her about the fight with AJ and seeing Jason and Elizabeth slow dance. She says she went to Sonny for information about Jason and Liz. She tells Bobbie she was feeling insecure and that's why she slept with Sonny. She says that Jason knows about it and that’s why he left town.

Bobbie tells Carly to consider what’s best for the baby. Carly says she thought not having the baby was the best thing to do, but she couldn’t go through with it. They discuss Bobbie’s decision to have Carly. Bobbie thinks Carly should tell Sonny about the baby. Carly refuses – she tells Bobbie what Sonny thinks of her. Bobbie tries to talk to her about it, but Carly has already decided that she is going to make AJ think the baby is his. Bobbie reminds Carly what happened the last time she lied about the father of a baby. Carly blames that fiasco on Robin’s inability to keep a secret. Carly thinks it’s okay because she and AJ are married. Carly is convinced she can make it work (gee, haven’t we heard this before???). Bobbie finally tells Carly that she will tell Sonny if Carly doesn’t. They argue some more. Bobbie says they can’t solve anything tonight, so they get ready to leave. Carly tells Bobbie that she understands that Bobbie came to the clinic because she cares about her. Bobbie says she will always love Carly.
