General Hospital Update for Thursday, 30-Dec-1999

Sorel had the bomb planted under a table in Liz's studio. She came back from riding with Jason and he said goodnight to her at the door. She kissed him on the cheek as they discussed his moving out and finding out what he can and can't handle. He goes downstairs and sees Sorel's guy staring at Liz's building. He asks the guy what he's doing there and the guy punches him. They fight and Roy holds the guy for Jason. Roy gets in a few punches as payback for when the guy beat up Roy and then the guy just blurts out that there's a bomb under the table. Roy and Jason run for the studio.

Jason busts through the door and gets Liz out and Roy decides to de-fuse the bomb himself. It goes all the way down to one second left and he gets it de-fused. Jason and Liz are waiting on the docks and Bobbie comes along. She finds out that Roy is still in the building and freaks. Roy comes out and she throws herself at him yelling how could he even think of doing something to make her lose him again. Roy seems surprised. Taggert questions everyone, especially Roy on how he knew the bomb was in there and how he knew to disarm it. Taggert takes Jason and Roy down for questioning. Liz has nowhere to go and I was hoping that Jason would offer to let her move into the penthouse with him (wouldn't that stir things up?!) But no such luck, Bobbie offered.

Jax and Chloe are flying around the world celebrating New Year's until Chloe practically throws herself at him in the plane wanting to go somewhere where they can be alone. Jax takes her to a remote area where he has candles and a fire and a private garden. They make love and afterwards Jax is trying to describe his feelings and they hear the rain in the garden. They go out in the rain barely dressed and dance and kiss some more. Their song is playing in the background.

Mike is doing his job showing Gertrude a good time. She didn't want to go to New York with the Y2K thing so they stayed in PC. They are sitting at the table talking and Sonny walks in. He sits with them and the look on Mike's face was priceless. She asks if Sonny is in real estate development like his father and Sonny is trying hard not to laugh. Gertrude asks why they don't have the same name and Sonny says it's because Mike changed his name after Sonny joined the wrong fraternity. Mike looks pretty uncomfortable and Sonny is really enjoying himself--until Hannah and Taggert walk in. Sonny suddenly excuses himself and leaves. He goes to the elevator and meets up with Carly in it who is supposedly going home to be with Michael.

The elevator gets stuck and Sonny starts to freak out with the claustrophobia thing. He's banging on the door and such when Carly is saying what's the matter with you are you claustrophobic or something and he points his finger and of course she lets her mouth keep going and asks him if someone locked him in a closet when he was younger and he freaks. He tells her to shut her filthy mouth etc. And Carly realizes she's hit the nail on the head. She gets all compassionate and starts telling him it's going to be OK and they'll get out soon. Just after midnight they do and A.J. sees them getting off the elevator together.

Ned is desperately trying to cope with the situation with Mike after Tammy walks in and sees Mike and Gertrude and leaves pretty mad. Of course, Mike broke the date with Tammy to be with Gertrude but didn't tell her the real reason why. Mike excuses himself to go after Tammy and he bangs on the door of Kelly's until she lets him in. He begs her to celebrate with him and she finally agrees, but it doesn't mean she's forgiven him and Mike assures her that she will. Meanwhile Gertrude joins with the Quartermaines for their celebration--not very pleased with Mike.

Next week: More Jax and Chloe, Taggert questioning Jason and Roy, and Carly nearly faints into Sonny's arms while A.J. looks on.
