General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 1-Dec-1999

"You're a two-bit tramp, but I'm a lot worse. Jason needs us like a heart attack," Sonny declared to Carly. His summary of their situation seems pretty accurate after today's events.

The show began with a replay of yesterday's final scene, the intertwining of Carly and Sonny having sex with Jason being ambushed at Pier 52. Carly didn't seem upset after doing it with Sonny; he, on the other hand, was full of regret. He insulted her repeatedly and treated her like a prostitute. She seemed surprised by his attitude.

In the meantime, Moreno and Sorel walked around the limo to confront an obviously injured Jason. Moreno was just about to shoot Jason when Jason shot him, tried to shoot Sorel, and managed to escape Moreno's henchmen. In a "mob-mentality" move, Sorel kills Moreno, who was pleading for help.

Jason manages to get back to Sonny's penthouse and, struggling to speak, tries to tell Sonny what happened. Sonny's too full of remorse--and in such a dark place--that he just says something like, "Yeah, well, that's how it goes." Just then Carly, wearing Sonny's shirt and apparently nothing underneath, comes bouncing down the stairs claiming she can't find any clean towels. A look of stunned disbelief and incredible hurt fills Jason's face. Carly tries to get him to stay and listen to her, but he leaves.

Sonny then tells Carly that at least he's done Jason a favor, because now Jason has seen what she's really like. She vows to make it up to Jason. They exchange nasty words before Sonny says he's in hell and belongs there.

Carly tells Sonny that Jason needs them as much as they need him. Sonny claims that all ended an hour ago, but Carly refuses to believe it. Before she leaves, she cleans up the bedroom, later telling Sonny that no one needs to know what happened. It can stay among her, Sonny, and Jason. Sonny tells her to take some money so that "it's official." (He can be so slimy when he wants to be!)

Carly checks into the PC Hotel for the night. I'm sure she goes to bed thinking of how to explain it all away and get Jason back.

Elsewhere in Port Charles today ...

Ned and Alexis had a long-awaited love scene. Emily and Juan kissed in the snow and then danced in the dark inside Kelly's, until Taggert came along and escorted Emily home. Bobbie and Alexis had a bonding conversation about whether Bobbie should wait for Jerry. Alexis later told Ned she couldn't stand it if something happened to him.

Hannah reported to Larkin, who told her he was taking her in. He takes her to the HQ, where moments before, the boss told Roy his new assignment is to bring Sonny down. Roy said it's his last job for the Bureau. The boss gave Hannah a one-way plane ticket to Anchorage and a new wardrobe, along with a letter to Sonny in handwriting that supposedly matched hers. She's told she's leaving in an hour. Frantic to find a reason to stay in PC, she insists that Sonny would never believe that she just disappeared. She claims he'd come looking for her. Roy arrives back at the HQ just in time to support Hannah's plea to break it off with Sonny in person. Her boss warns her not to do anything foolish. She returns to Sonny's at the end of the show.

The final scene shows Jason stumbling through the woods, clutching his right side. IMO, his heart is more painful than the bullet wound.
