General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 17-Nov-1999

Hello fellow GH fans!
Wednesday's episode revealed the truth of Nikolas's parentage -- Stefan isn't his father after all. Stavros was. The ruse was created when Nik was an infant and Stefan requested a blood test. A clever Helena arranged for Dr. Listerius (whom we saw murdered last year) to pass on the wrong results to Stefan, leading Stefan to believe he was Nik's father.
Helena did this to ensure that Stefan would cherish Nik rather than seek to destroy him. Believing that Nik was his biological son would make Stefan a vigilant "uncle" rather than a typical Cassadine-style "back-stabbing" uncle. Pretty good plan! Helena guaranteed that Nik would live to be the Cassadine prince.
Jax and Chloe returned to Port Charles and delivered the documents to a grateful Alexis -- but not before an angry Helena demanded her property back. Not wanting her to know that they know the truth about Nikolas, Jax and Chloe pretended that the only document they had was Mikkos's will. After she was shown the door at Jax's apartment, Jax told Alexis of the real discovery.
Alexis read her father's will with joy: it stated that he loved her and wanted to acknowledge her in death, which he "couldn't do in life." Jax felt Alexis should use the will to gain her share of the Cassadine fortune; she refused, however, saying that Nik deserved to know who his father is. She apologized to the three other mixed marrieds, saying she just couldn't cash in on her bloodline at the expense of Nik.
Also happening Wednesday in PC: Liz and Emily had a girls' heart-to-heart about Liz and Nik's "friendship." Em was surprised to hear about the kiss Nik gave Liz on her birthday. Liz described how that kiss changed her feelings about being around Nik.
Sorel confronted an unsuspecting Roy about the Pier 17 bust. He had two hoods with him. Roy quickly realized he was in trouble and tried to explain his way out of it. Sorel wouldn't hear his explanation. He claimed that when someone new enters the organization and then the FBI do a raid just a little while later, he knows that the guy "who begged to shine my shoes" is the guy behind the FBI sting. Then his goons beat up Roy.
When Bobbie ran into Roy later, she realized he'd been hurt. He wouldn't explain to her what happened, causing her to assume that he was in trouble again. It made her think that he hadn't changed in 20 years, which is why she's so much better off with a "dependable" man, Jerry (well, isn't she in for a surprise!).
Sonny and Jason had an intense discussion about the charming Hannah. Jason questioned how soon Sonny was going to ditch Hannah. Sonny said he wasn't through with her yet. He needs to wake up next to her one morning and know he doesn't want her around. Then he'll get rid of her. Interesting...
In an ironic move, Nik visited Stefan to apologize for the rude way he had been treating him since Kat's death. He admitted that he was relieved not to be stuck with her.
Hannah put on her one suit and reported to her boss at the FBI. Larkin was there, too, of course. They demanded to know why Sonny and Jason weren't at Pier 17 when the raid occurred. She lied that she tried but Sonny got a phone call and had to stay at home.
At the show's end, Alexis ferried over to Wyndemere to tell her gloomy brother that he's not Nik's father. (IMO, if she weren't just a bit too old for Jason, they'd be great together, with their mutual desire for justice and honesty.)
