General Hospital Update for Monday, 15-Nov-1999

I. Leaving on a jet plane
Chloe has just surprised Jax on the plane. Naturally, Jax thinks she should not be there. The conversation goes something like this:
“I’m going.”
“No, you’re not.”
“I’m going.”
“No, you’re not.”
“I’m going. Look, I can pose as Alexis.”
“No, you’re not….well, okay.”
Chloe sleeps. Jax watches and reminisces about their past opportunities to make out. She wakes and Jax reminds her about the risks. They kiss.

II. Marriage, the fifth time around
Jerry has discovered Bobbie crying and she has told him that she is crying happy tears. They return to bed. Jerry asks if she is having doubts. She quietly says no in a way that means yes. He asks if he’s done anything wrong. Bobbie trots out that old cliché “it’s not you, it’s me.” She laments her five marriages and how following her heart has failed her in the past. However, this time is different – the past doesn’t matter and she has finally gotten it right. They, too, kiss.

III. Look who fell into the spider’s web – and who did not
Carly and Jason watch the Feds bust Mareno’s shipment. Roy is also picked up.

Once again, Carly and Jason have the “I screw everything up/No, you don’t” conversation. Jason tells Carly that she saved him and Sonny. She glows. Jason calls to check in with Sonny and they leave. They do not kiss.

Hannah has been doing her best to make sure that Sonny stay in the penthouse for the bust. Sonny uses her behavior to try to get her to confess. He gets Jason’s call confirming the bust and tells Jason he’ll take care of things with Hannah. Later, Hannah’s FBI phone rings. Sonny wants to know when she got the phone and why he doesn’t have the number. Hannah answers the call and responds with short answers to her boss’s saying the bust did not go as planned. She tells Sonny it was about a secret job interview (remember the lie she used with Mike last week?). Sonny tells her not to keep secrets from her. They chat about her dream job (she gives a non-answer) and Sonny asks if she would ever pick her work over love. She, of course, says she’d always pick him. She says her dream is that he give up his work. They kiss.

Turns out, Roy is working for the Feds. He was supposed to be helping them catch Mareno. He has picked up some account numbers from Mareno’s warehouse – he let himself in – and informs the boss that Mareno is using someone local to launder his money, but Roy does not know who. Roy says he has engineered a meeting with Sorrell, but the boss tells him not to get in too deep because he may be switching sides. Roy is not happy, but the boss informs him that he has no choice. Refusal will return him to jail. They do not kiss.

IV. Poor, pitiful me – can I go for a ride?
Liz and Nik return from their non-date. They discuss how Nik is recovering from Catherine’s death. Liz gets cold and goes inside. Nik leaves. No kissing here, folks.

Later, Jason arrives at Liz’s. They go for a ride. When they return, Jason has let Liz drive the motorcycle and she is exhilarated. Liz tells Jason about the non-date and how she kept thinking of Lucky. She recites her “poor me” speech followed by her “I love riding your bike” oration. They do not kiss.

(Excuse me, but why is okay for her to have these feelings about Lucky and verbalize them, but it’s not okay for Nik to do the same?????)

V. You’re my Carly-doll and Jason can’t have you!!!
Carly returns to the mansion to find AJ waiting in her room. They have the usual fight – you’ve all seen it time and time again, so I’ll not bother with the play-by-play. AJ wants her to perform her wifely bedroom duties. She, of course, turns him down. He does finally verbalize the threat everyone knew was coming “you’ll never see Michael again if you try to leave me.” Spoken like a true Q. They do not kiss either.
