General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 29-Sep-1999

In his office, Mac is talking on the phone to someone who wants him to find Juan. He says he'll only put one man on it. Taggert comes in with a report on Faison. Mac sees that there is an hour missing in the report. Taggert has no excuse. Mac is mad. It's supposed to be a 24-hour report. He takes Taggert off the case and assigns him to Juan's case. After Mac gives him a few facts about Juan, Taggert asks about Sonny paying Juan's rent over the summer. Mac warns him to stay away from the Corinthos connection and to leave the Faison case alone. Taggert leaves as Dara arrives. She tries to calm Mac down. She reminds him that Taggert does care, more than anybody. She understands why Mac is so passionate about the Faison case. She knows he is responsible for Robert and Anna's deaths. Mac tells her she has the same soothing effect on him as Felicia. Mac goes to eat at Kelly's. He asks Bobbie if Faison has contacted Luke. He figures he would, because he contacted Laura already. Bobbie tells Mac that Luke is out of town. Mac asks if there's any chance that Luke is in Chicago. Bobbie thinks that Luke and Felicia's days of adventure are over. Bobbie got the impression that Luke went out of the country. After Mac leaves, Taggert comes in and asks Bobbie if she has seen Juan. She hasn't. He sits at a table and is joined by Dara. They discuss how Mac is being overly zealous about Faison, just like he was with Sonny. Dara leaves. Hannah enters. Taggert wants to ask her some questions. She assumes it's about Sonny, but he wants information on Juan. Hannah is uncooperative. She knows nothing about where Juan is. Taggert talks about Juan's connection with Sonny. He reminds her that people who get involved with Sonny get hurt.

At the Q's, Juan comes downstairs, unseen by anyone, as Monica and Alan talk in the living room about the sweater that Emily gave Monica. They think Emily is over her infatuation with Juan. Emily comes home. Alan and Monica ask her about school. Monica hugs her and thanks her for the sweater. Reginald brings Monica and Alan's briefcases to them and they leave. Reginald tells Emily everyone is out of the house. Emily starts up the stairs, but Juan comes out of the closet in the foyer. Emily and Juan hug. They go into the living room and have snacks. Juan thinks it's great, the way Reginald and Letitia have kept him in hiding. Emily reminds him that Reginald and Letitia are in love, so they understand. Out in the foyer, Reginald gives Letitia a flower and they kiss. Letitia is worried about hiding Juan. She thinks Reginald will be in trouble when the Q's find out. Reginald isn't worried. Emily tells Juan that they could go on like this for a long time. Juan thinks his father is already looking for him. Maybe they should run away. Emily doesn't like that idea. She wants for them to convince Mr. Santiago to let Juan stay in Port Charles. Reginald answers the door. It's Taggert. He wants to talk to Emily. Reginald goes into the living room to tell Emily and Juan that Taggert is there. Juan crouches on the side of the couch, which apparently is a very good place to hide, because detectives and doctors are unable to see someone there. Emily tells Taggert that she can't help him find Juan because she has been told not to see him any more. Taggert explains that Mr. Santiago wants to know where Juan is, but he's not mad at him. Monica and Alan are home and upset that Taggert has been interrogating Emily without them there. When Taggert leaves, Monica and Alan want the truth from Emily. Has she heard from Juan? They start arguing and Monica tells Emily that she is grounded again. Monica tells Reginald to inform them if Emily doesn't stay in the house. Emily goes to her room. Juan is still on the side of the couch.

Felicia shows Luke how she plans on getting them out of jail. She has practiced different faces which she think will show how sorry she is for hitting the capitan. Luke doesn't take her seriously. They start laughing and the guard comes over to their cell. He says he is glad to hear laughter. Felicia explains how sorry she is. The guard says the trial is in a week. Felicia wants to call Mac. Luke reminds her she's supposed to be in Chicago. He has a better idea. They'll escape. Luke pretends to have violent stomach pains. Felicia calls the guard to the cell. Luke pretends he has passed out. The guard enters. Felicia hits him over the head with a chair. Luke takes the guard's gun and they escape. Later, we see them after they have retrieved the diamonds from the mine and are exhausted after a long hike in the sun. They are only five miles from the border and Felicia's contact. Luke is concerned that they will be found because the police will be looking for someone fitting their descriptions. Maybe they should just keep walking. Later, they stop and try to disguise themselves. Luke pulls out some sexy lingerie that Felicia brought with her and suggests she wear that. {I'm sure there was a good reason why she brought it with her.} They both put on clothing native to the region, but Luke jokes about her blond hair.

Faison tells someone on the phone that Luke is in Mexico and that he has the diamonds. {actually Faison calls them *my* diamonds} He's sure Luke will try to double-cross him again. He says if one of the diamonds shows up in Mexico, he wants it tracked back to the exact location where it first showed up.

At Jax's penthouse, he is looking at all the plants and greenery that has been delivered. He asks the delivery boy if there was a card. They can't find one. Chloe arrives with a picnic basket and explains it was she who sent all the plants. Jax looks through the basket and finds all his favorite foods. How did Chloe know he liked these foods? Alexis asked Jax's mother. They enjoy their picnic until Jax starts talking about his problems with Jerry. He explains that he's just too happy to have him alive right now to start digging into his problems. They start to kiss but are interrupted by Jerry at the door. Chloe hides. Jerry is nervous about marrying Bobbie. He doesn't know how to be a good husband like Jax. Bobbie is an angel and doesn't deserve someone like him. Jerry doesn't want to hurt Bobbie but he's afraid he will. He asks Jax to stop him if he ever seems like he's going to hurt Bobbie. After Jerry leaves, Jax tells Chloe that he's really worried.

Emily lies in her bed. Juan comes in and surprises her. He says he heard Emily tell her parents that what they have is real. He is going to tell his father that. They hug.
