General Hospital Update for Friday, 17-Sep-1999

Chloe is making a princess dress for Brooke Lynn and Jax comes over to help. They discuss what kind of a present he could get for a married woman who helped him through his brother's medical crisis. They rule out jewelry, chocolate from France, making her laugh by falling off his horse etc. They kiss and Ned and Brooke Lynn walk in. They explain it by saying that it was a friendship kiss and not a 'special' kiss like Daddy gives to Chloe and they demonstrate while Jax looks on, pretty uncomfortable. Chloe and Brooke Lynn go upstairs to try on the dress and Ned and Jax go outside.

Ned blasts Jax for making out with Chloe in his house and reminds him why Lois left with Brooke Lynn in the first place (Because she didn't want them around the lying Quartermaines). Jax tells him its easy to see that Brooke Lynn loves and adores him and that he is a lucky man. They cancel dinner for that night.

Brooke Lynn comes down modelling her dress and Chloe does an intro for her. Her dad loves it and Brooke Lynn whispers that she wants her dad to give Chloe a special kiss to thank her. (This was too obvious, even for the writers. It didn't even make sense) Of course Brooke sits in a chair and Ned and Chloe kiss while Alexis looks on through the window, not able to see Brooke Lynn.

Nikolas tells Stefan that he's decided to ask Katharine to marry him. Stefan tries to point out all the reasons why he shouldn't do that, like shared custody can be arranged, etc. Nik doesn't want to be a sometimes father so he doesn't care that it would be a loveless marriage to someone he doesn't respect. Stefan wants him to learn from his mistakes, but Nik just says he'll think about what Stefan said. Stefan walks into Helena's room and says that it's probably worse than even she imagined. As soon as he leaves, Helena gets up and calls a florist ordering flowers to be delivered to Laura Spencer with the card, "Congratulations on your impending grandmother-hood" from Katharine Bell.

Nik invites Katharine over and she tells him she doesn't want to feel uncomfortable around his father jumping out of the bushes to attack her because a baby in its mother's womb can pick up on that. She also talks about her move to the West Coast and Nikolas says he has a better idea. Katharine, will you marry me? (I'm surprised he didn't gag on the words!)

Mac goes to visit Sonny and promises that he'll broker a deal if he'll testify against Faison. Sonny says he's never met Faison and Mac says he's protecting a monster, so there's nothing to discuss. Alexis walks in and berates Mac for offering a deal when no attorney was present. Mac leaves and Alexis tells Sonny that if they're offering a deal they ought to think about it since that may be the only way they can get him out. She tells him she thinks they're preparing a witness and SURPRISE! Hannah walks in. Sonny tells Alexis that they can talk in front of her and Alexis reminds him that she's not covered by attorney client privilege. Sonny says they're done anyway and Alexis kind of huffs off.

Carly and Hannah mix it up again outside of Kelly's, Hannah telling her to stay away and Carly calling her names. Jason comes along and breaks it up. Carly rehashes that she knows this girl is trouble since the day her and her come hither lashes came to Port Charles. She begs Jason to let her help him if he gets arrested. She would lie or do anything for him, even be a character witness. Jason tells her that he will ask for her help if she stays away from the hearing today. She agrees. She goes into Kelly's and once Tammy is in the back she takes the keys and goes upstairs. She looks around Hannah's room and finds the lockbox in the closet.

Sonny and Hannah talk about the hearing and the Grisham book he just read about a guy embezzling millions and his girlfriends stabbing him in the back and walking away (foreshadowing perhaps, DUH) Hannah asks if it was a good read yada yada. Sonny asks her to be strong if he is denied bail and not to say anything and she promises. She knows the Feds don't have anything that will stick. I wonder why that is? (Why haven't Jason and Sonny figured her out yet, she's the only new person to their organization. It is really boring listening to her and seeing through her so easily when the characters are written as totally dense. Jason even seems only mildly suspicious of her) She meets Alexis on her way out and asks what his chances are and Alexis says not good.

Jason comes by Kelly's looking for Carly and Tammy says that she left while she was in the back. Jason looks upstairs and asks if he can go knock on Hannah's door. Tammy says sure.

Sonny and Hannah come home and the FBI agent is outside his door. They tell him he's not supposed to be there since Sonny made bail. They open the door and his apartment is totally trashed. They have really surprised looks on their faces.

Scenes from next week: Hannah is saying how can they think they uphold the law when they are the ones breaking the law.

Alexis is telling Jax that she thinks there's something more going on between Ned and Chloe.

Bobbie asks Jason why he's going upstairs

Katharine asks Nikolas if he's really sure about this.
