General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 15-Sep-1999

Due to Hurricane Floyd warnings, my station did not carry the first few minutes of GH.

Katherine talks to her doctor on the phone. She asks if she can use a surrogate to have Nikolas' baby. She is told yes.

Jax and Bobbie are at Jerry's bedside as his doctor tells him he still needs plenty of bed rest. Jax tells Bobbie that she is the reason Jerry fought to be alive.

Emily tells Ned that she hated camp. She wants to see Juan. When Ned tells her that Juan returned to Puerto Rico, she is surprised. After a call to Tammy confirms that Juan has left town, Emily flops onto the couch, very depressed. Alan and Monica come in, all cheery and bubbly. The three engage in the same old argument about Juan. Alan tells Emily that she really doesn't love him. He was just a summer crush. When she is told that there is no reason for her being grounded any longer, she leaves. Monica has doubts about how they are raising Emily. Alan thinks they have been making the right decisions. Monica feels that promising Paige to raise Emily was a mistake. Bobbie comes to tell Monica that Jerry is ok and has asked her to marry him. She asks Monica not to tell Carly about the proposal. She thinks there may be a problem because Carly and Jerry don't get along.

At the gatehouse, Ned thanks Chloe for being so good with Brook Lynn. Jax and Alexis arrive and want to go out to celebrate Jerry's recovery. They decide to order in since Brook Lynn is sleeping. Jax gets a call on his cell phone. He goes outside. He is told that there is a discrepancy in Jerry's account. Jax can't believe that a large sum of money is now in his brother's account. Alexis comes outside and senses how upset Jax is. She wants to know what has happened but Jax doesn't want to tell her because he doesn't want to put her in a position where she may have to lie to Ned. She says she'll consider it a legal consultation and then she can't discuss it with anyone. Jax thinks he has to protect Jerry so he can recover in peace. When Ned and Alexis have a few minutes alone in the gatehouse, Ned mentions how Chloe and Brook Lynn get along so well. Alexis feels badly that she can't make a connection with Brook Lynn. Ned is sure she will eventually. They kiss while Jax and Chloe are kissing outside.

Elizabeth visits Nikolas. She wants to take him to the movies but he can't go because he has invited Katherine over. Liz wants to leave before Katherine arrives. Maybe they'll go to a movie after. As Liz fantasizes aloud about a Jaguar that Nik offered to buy her, Katherine arrives and overhears. As Nik and Liz continue to talk about accessories, Katherine interrupts them. Liz leaves, but not before she sarcastically congratulates Katherine on her pregnancy. Nik serves Katherine herbal tea and tells her he is concerned about her health. He assures her that he will be there for his child. Katherine says she has been looking at homes with her realtor but she hasn't seen any as nice as Nik's home. Nik is uncomfortable. Stefan comes along. Katherine feigns delight in seeing him. Stefan and Katherine quarrel. Nik stops them and says he won't tolerate it because it's bad for the baby. Katherine kisses Nik on the cheek before she leaves and he sits on his steps and looks very serious while he's thinking there. When Liz returns, Nik asks her to turn his spare room into a nursery for his baby.

Emily walks on the docks and has flashbacks of her and Juan. Juan appears behind her and she hugs him. He explains that he and his father are talking a later flight. Juan fills Emily in on things that have happened while she was gone, especially Sonny's arrest. Juan says he'll return to Port Charles. They both notice they're still wearing the bracelets they gave each other. Juan asks Emily if this means she's his girlfriend. She tells him she'll always be his girlfriend. They kiss. Mr. Santiago comes to tell Juan that they have to leave for the airport. Juan wants Emily to ride with them but Mr. Santiago says no. They kiss again. Juan and Mr. Santiago leave. Emily cries.

Katherine tries on maternity clothing in front of a mirror.

Stefan sits in Helena's room and tells her about how Katherine is manipulating Nik with her baby. He blames Helena because she saved Katherine's life. When Stefan leaves the room, Helena struggles to get out of her bed and says: "If Katherine presents a problem, she must be eliminated."
