General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 7-Sep-1999

Felicia returns to Port Charles and Mac is relieved to see her. She asks if there is anything new about Faison. There isn't. Taggert bursts into Mac's office to tell Mac that Sonny has been arrested by the FBI without informing the PC police. Mac says he's known for a week that it was going to happen. Mac didn't want Taggert to know because he was afraid of what Taggert might do. Now that Sonny has been arrested, Mac hopes they can get Sonny to work for them to help get Faison. Dara enters. Mac wants her to help represent the PCPD in the FBI case against Sonny. Dara agrees to approach the FBI about making a deal but she doesn't think they'll go for it. Mac says they need Sonny to get Faison arrested. Dara asks what Faison can be arrested for. Mac says that Faison killed his brother and he fences jewels. Dara points out that there is no evidence. Mac gets emotional and Taggert gets him to calm down. When Taggert and Dara leave, Felicia reminds Mac that they vowed Faison would not win. He must stay in control. They'll get Faison with or without Sonny's help. Taggert comes back with a note for Mac that says Bobbie has been hurt.


Carly continues ranting about Hannah to anyone who will listen at the police station. Finally, Hannah takes Carly by her clothes and throws her to the other side of the room. Jason separates them and tells Carly to let Alexis handle everything. The FBI agents explain that Carly was brought in to the police station because she showed up at Sonny's. Carly tells Jason that she is worried that AJ will find out where she is. She answers her cell phone. She is told that Bobbie was in a car accident and leaves. In the interrogation room, Sonny asks Alexis if he's her client. Alexis answers yes but she has to know he's innocent. Sonny says he doesn't even know what he's being accused of yet. Alexis asks if it's possible he's being framed. By a colleague maybe? He answers no. Alexis thinks there should be no problem getting him out on bail. Mac interrupts to tell Alexis about Jerry. When Alexis leaves, Taggert comes in to bring Sonny to his cell. As they pass Hannah, Sonny stops and they look at each other for a few seconds. Taggert throws Sonny into a jail cell.

Jax arrives at the hospital to find Jerry. Audrey tells Jax and Chloe that Tony is the physician assigned to Jerry's case. Chloe can see that Jax is less than thrilled about Tony and asks what the problem is. He explains to her about Tony being Bobbie's ex and how Jerry decked him at the Nurses' Ball after Tony insulted Bobbie. Tony comes along and lets Jax know about Jerry's condition. Jerry's lungs are filled with blood. It could affect other organs. He has a 50% chance of surviving. He asks Jax to sign permission papers for the surgery. Jax balks at first until he realizes someone else is operating. Jax wants to speak to the surgeon but Tony says he's already scrubbing. Jax tells Chloe he can't believe a car accident would do Jerry in. Jerry has survived so much. Jax tells Tony he wants to wait for the surgery to be performed. Tony explains that Jerry's chances of stabilizing are slim to none if they wait. Jax agrees to go ahead with the surgery. Chloe stays with Jax during the surgery. She tries to stay optimistic for Jax while he tells stories of Jerry's brushes with death. Carly arrives. She sees Jax and Chloe and assumes Jerry is ok but Bobbie is badly hurt. She makes some insensitive remarks about Jerry. Chloe explains that Bobbie will be ok but Jerry is fighting for his life. Carly apologizes. She goes to Bobbie's room. When Felicia gets to the hospital, she sits with Chloe and offers encouragement until Jax returns. When he comes back, he tells Chloe that his parents are on their way. She offers to go get him some juice but he wants her to stay with him. In Bobbie's room, Carly sits by her bed and talks to her sleeping mother. She remembers how nasty she was to Virginia right before she died. She tells Bobbie they will have many years together. She starts crying as she says most people think she's lucky because she's a Quartermaine, but the luckiest thing that's happened to her is finding her mother. She sees AJ come to the door. He asks her where she was when he called her. She lies and says she was eating out with a friend from design class. She goes back and cuddles with Bobbie. Audrey tells Jax and Alexis they can go to see Jerry. Chloe wants to go but Audrey says family only. Felicia calls her grandmother to find out how the girls are. When the conversation is over, her phone rings. She's thrilled that is is Luke. She tells him about Bobbie. Felicia has something else she must tell him...about that man he has been doing business with.

Faison asks someone on the phone if there is any news on Luke yet. He plays with Felicia's earring. Later, he speaks with someone whom we only see from the back. Faison tells him to detain Luke at the dropoff point. He can't return to Port Charles.
