General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 31-Aug-1999

Emily and Juan wake up in his room, still holding hands. She says "good morning" and then freaks when she realizes it *is* morning. Midnight was her curfew. What will she tell her parents? They decide that that she'll say she was at Elizabeth's all night. They better let Liz know right now. Emily's parents will never know the truth. They open the door. Monica is there. Emily and Juan want to explain. It's not how it looks. Monica won't listen. She's furious. She and Alan worried all night. She tells Emily to say goodbye to Juan forever. Emily says she can't keep them apart. Monica tells Juan that if he ever goes near Emily again, he'll be arrested and sent back to Puerto Rico. When Emily arrives home, Alan is relieved and embraces her. He says he won't lecture her but he is very disappointed in her. Emily tries to explain to her parents, but they don't listen to her. Monica asks Alan to leave so she can talk to Emily alone. Monica wants to have a talk about sex with Emily who tells her that she and Juan are not not having sex but if they were, they would use protection. Monica says she's sending Emily to camp until school starts. Emily realizes Juan would be gone when she returns. She says she hates Monica and Alan. Later, Alan asks Monica if Juan and Emily are having sex. Monica says Emily says no. Alan thinks Monica is letting Emily walk all over her because she's afraid of losing her. Monica says they can send Emily anywhere but the issue isn't over. Juan Santiago is not going away. Juan enters and says "you got that right." He tells them that he and Emily did nothing wrong. He says Emily loves them. He thinks she's smart and he respects her decisions. Alan and Monica say they are sending Emily to camp for the rest of the summer. Emily eavesdrops on the whole conversation. Juan leaves. Outside, Emily catches up to him. She's afraid she'll never see him again. Juan says he'll be in Port Charles when Emily gets back from camp. They kiss and he goes off.

Chloe arrives at Jax's penthouse, supposedly to look at a contract. They wind up kissing. The bell rings. She hides. It's John Jacks. Chloe eavesdrops as John and Jax have breakfast together. When Jax tells his father that his romantic life is great, he exchanges glances with a beaming Chloe. John says that he and Jane are glad Jax didn't revert to his old ways after Brenda's death ~ like dating brainless debutantes ~ like Chloe. John says Chloe could never have survived in the Sahara like Alexis did. Jax would have had to carry her out on his back. Jax looks over at Chloe and snickers at the analogy. When Jax leaves, Chloe says he has already formed his opinion of her. She claims she's not upset by John's comments about her. She's just amazed. She kisses Jax and leaves.

In the park, Alexis sees a couple kissing, and flashes back to watching the video of Ned and Chloe. Lady Jane comes by, powerwalking, and asks Alexis why she looks so troubled. Alexis claims she just has a lot of stress. Jane opens up to Alexis and tells her about her early married days. She tells Alexis that she and John are very fond of her. When Jane says some negative things about Chloe, Alexis defends Chloe. Jane says it is so obvious that Ned deeply loves Chloe. She can tell by the way he looks at her. This, of course, deeply disturbs Alexis. Alexis tells Lady Jane that Jax is lucky to have her for a mother. Alexis starts to tear up and Jane hugs and kisses her.

Felicia brings Maxie and Georgie to Kelly's to pick out cookies for their picnic with Mac. The girls want to stay outside, so Felicia goes inside herself and talks with Bobbie. They wonder where Luke is. Bobbie wishes Faison would come back to Port Charles soon. Then they would know he's not stalking Luke. Outside, Maxie and Georgie are playing jacks. Faison strolls by, stops, and watches them. Inside, Bobbie and Felicia continue to discuss Luke and Faison. Is Faison setting Luke up to be arrested by Interpol? Is Faison planning to kill Luke? Is Faison really after Luke or Felicia and Mac? Felicia reminds Bobbie that Faison likes to toy with people. Felicia has a flashback to when Luke told her he was leaving town and he thanked her and hugged her. Felicia gets her sandwiches and goes outside to get her girls, but only finds Maxie's backpack. She calls out their names and before she becomes too hysterical, Maxie and Georgie appear. Felicia scolds them for wandering off and Maxie says she just went to say hi to a friend. The three go off and Faison steps out of the shadows. Felicia and the girls are having a picnic in the park. Maxie wants to go for ice cream. Felicia gives Maxie and Georgie money to buy ice cream. Alexis strolls by. Felicia invites her to stay and eat but she says she has to talk with someone and leaves. Georgie comes back alone. When Felicia asks where Maxie is, Georgie says she is talking to a man. When Felicia sees Maxie with Faison, she goes ballistic. She pushes him several times and screams at him to leave her family alone. As Maxie watches in amazement, Faison grabs Felicia's wrists and restrains her. He reminds Felicia that her daughter is watching. She sends Maxie back to the picnic blanket and Maxie tells her that the man was just helping her find the change she dropped. When Felicia is alone with Maxie and Georgie, she lectures them about talking to strangers. Maxie says she thought it was ok because she has seen that man at Kelly's and near their house. She doesn't consider him a stranger. Mac joins them. He senses the tension and Felicia explains that Maxie talked to a strange man. Without being told, Mac knows it's Faison and tells Maxie and Georgie that Cesar Faison is a bad man. Mac suggests it's time for a trip to Great-Grandma Maria. Felicia tells him privately that Faison will not win.

At the Q's, Reggie, looking yummy in his jammies, serves Edward cold coffee. Reggie says it's cold, just like Edward's heart. Ned comes in and is amused by what he sees and hears. He tells Edward there was a package for him and hands it to him. He says it feels like a video and Edward plays dumb. Ned plays straight man and asks if he can guess what's on the tape. Was Edward trying to catch someone "in the act?" Edward denies this and gets a little nervous. Ned asks if Edward videotaped employees. Edward is relieved as Ned leaves the room. Edward pops in the video and is upset when he sees Ned and Chloe together. Ned, lurking outside the room, is oh-so-smug. Alexis visits Ned at the gatehouse. He destroys the surveillance camera with a golf club. Alexis tells him she has seen the tape. Ned explains that after he discovered the camera, he and Chloe put on a show. Alexis asks if he's sure that's all it was. If anything has changed, she's like to know now. She has seen that he has become more comfortable with Chloe and fears that his feelings may be changing. Ned tells Alexis he adores her and wants to take her on a vacation.
