General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 17-Aug-1999

In the Q's foyer, Emily is shocked to see Juan coming down the stairs. He says he snuck into her room. When they hear Alan's voice, Emily pushes Juan into a room. Alan wants to have a father/daughter talk. Emily tries to leave, but Alan wants to talk. They talk about her being upset at the rechristening. When they talk about Juan, Emily gets defensive. Alan forbids her to see Juan. If she does, she is grounded again. When Alan leaves, Juan who has overheard everything, comes out of hiding and asks Emily what he has done to make her parents hate him so much. Emily has an idea: what can they do to make her parents like him? They hear Lila and Reggie coming. Emily pushes Juan back into the living room. Reggie is grumpy because he hasn't seen Letitia in a long time. Emily asks Lila if she could do her a favor: invite a friend of Emily's to dinner. Lila guesses that the friend is Juan. Emily says she thought Lila would understand because Lila's parents didn't like Edward. Lila agrees on one condition. Alan and Monica must know beforehand that Juan is coming to dinner. After Lila leaves, Juan tells Emily he's not going to come to dinner. While Emily tries to change Juan's mind in the living room, Monica and Reggie are looking through the mail in the foyer. Reggie is cranky because he didn't receive any mail from Letitia. Emily comes into the foyer and tells Monica she has great news: Lila invited Juan for dinner. Monica reminds Emily that Juan is off limits. She finally agrees. Emily returns to Juan but he is pessimistic. He thinks Alan and Monica will hate him more than ever. He promises not to let her down. They kiss and he leaves.

Mac is at GH to tell Laura that Faison is alive. Laura asks if she is in danger. Mac explains that Faison has a vendetta against the Scorpios and since Luke was Robert's best friend, she should be careful. He wants Laura to let him know if she sees Faison. Laura says she doesn't even know what he looks like. Mac shows her a picture. She recognizes him as the man who made a large donation to her program - Anton Gardner. When Mac leaves, Laura gets on her cell phone and asks information for the number of Anton Gardner.

Faison sits on a bench on the docks, reading a newspaper. Taggert slowly and deliberately pours a cup of coffee on Faison's shoe. He says (as only Tag can say) "oh I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." Taggert warns Faison that the police department is watching him. Later, Laura is waiting on the docks for Faison. When he says hello to her, she calls him Faison. She gives him a check for the amount he donated to her program. He insists she keep the donation to help the kids. She rips it up and throws it away. As she walks away, he mentions her children. She goes ballistic and threatens his life. Felicia comes along and tells Faison to get away from Laura. Faison tells Felicia that Laura was the one who arranged the meeting. After Faison leaves, Laura tells Felicia she doesn't need her to protect her. Felicia tells Laura that Faison is dangerous. Laura says she knows - Mac warned her. Laura puts up her defenses. She tells Felicia she's been in a lot of dangerous situations. Felicia begs Laura to let her and Mac help protect her. Laura says she can take care of her own affairs. Later, Felicia is still on the docks when Mac comes along. He asks what happened. He doesn't understand why Laura would get involved with Faison after his warnings.

At Kelly's, Hannah tells Tammy that she saw Sonny last night, but things didn't go well. Hannah says that Sonny was tense at first. She made dinner for him and they relaxed. But when Carly arrived, he asked Hannah to leave like the evening had meant nothing to him. Tammy insists that Sonny is a gentleman and that he must have a reason for acting this way. Taggert comes in and wants to talk with Hannah about Sonny. He tells Hannah there is someone he dislikes more than Sonny - Faison. He explains who Faison is and says he knows that Faison will need someone in Port Charles who will buy his jewels. He wants Sonny to be that person. Hannah doesn't trust Taggert. She thinks he'll turn Sonny in also. Taggert says that Sonny will have immunity. Taggert says he needs a go-between and Hannah is the logical choice. Hannah wants to know why she should get involved. Taggert says that eventually Faison will hook up with Sonny, use him, then get rid of him like yesterday's paper. He gives Hannah his phone numbers and leaves.

At Sonny's, he comes downstairs where Jason is waiting for him. Sonny asks him if he's heard from Carlos. Jason tells him the shipment is coming in and they'll store it in the warehouse on Water Street. Sonny tells Jason that it didn't work with Hannah last night. It was too soon. Jason tells Sonny that he talked to Hannah on the docks last night. She told him what had happened. Sonny tells Jason what Carly had wanted him to know. Jason reminisces about spending time with Carly and Michael.

Sonny goes to Kelly's and finds Hannah sitting outside. Hannah tells him how badly she felt that he "dismissed" her in front of Carly. She deserves more than being an afterthought. He agrees. They hold hands across the table.

At the hospital, Laura tells Audrey that she has returned a large donation. There is one problem: the funds have already been allocated by the board. How will she tell them? Audrey assumes the donor asked for the money back. Laura tells her it was her decision to return it.

Faison tells someone on the phone to tell Lucky that he met with Laura today. He looks at a framed picture of Felicia on his desk and plays with her earring.
